Stopped reading after part of the first sentence, I played in nan arc with a fleeing villain. When he fled I 1 stared it and quit the arc, g'luck
[/ QUOTE ]
Perhaps you should have read the whole post then because as the OP states, the fleeing boss was intended for story not for tickets. He's supposed to flee and doesn't change the outcome of the story.
I have something like this but in reverse for one of my arcs. At the end when you finish the mission a friendly ambush spawns of fans looking for autographs. It's kinda of funny and just a bit of flare as the mission is actually done and there really isn't anything you can do with the ambush although they will attack any remaining villains they come across. However they all appear at the spawn point but only 1 of them will run to the player. -

This is absolutely fantastic. Great idea using the winter event stuff with the magic pack.
And I already posted this in the general screenshot thread, but wanted to share Doctor Phineus again. Just kind of made him for the fun of it. The pinstripes don't really show in the screenshot because of jpg compression.

Love that one! Great costume. -
Take your cash to a grocery store/kmart/walmart/target and buy an Amex/MC/Visa gift card and use it to buy the online versions. It's cheaper that way too as you only have to pay $9.99 instead of $19.99 for the Architect version.

I had a similar problem with the Arachnos Atlas Park map with tunnels underneath. I would approach the boss mobs and they would fade into the wall never to return.
-
I have fine tuned my low level one mission story. It's much better balance now. Give it a shot.
Name: A Hero is Made, Not Born
Arc ID: 20863 -
[ QUOTE ]
I just published yesterday [u]A hero is made, not born[u]. It is a medium length one mission timed story that is Hero only and low level (1-14). I noticed the lack of true low level missions and good short missions. A lot of the short missions are really just personal farm missions and the authors don't even bother to provide story or text and just throw a bunch of overpowered custom mobs on a map.
It is a quick shot mission but can be a challenge to stop the villain from fleeing at the end.

I feel like a newb. I didn't realize there was an arc number.
Mine is 20863. -
Well I have been running on Heroic and have encountered EBs that were obviously set to HARD as the were a constant stream of attacks including, knockdowns, holds, mezzes and stuns. It made it impossible to solo at low level yet the missions were rated for all levels.
Edit: I also do recall that while testing an arc my AV spawned as EBs when I was solo Heroic. -
It seems pretty obvious that with a name "Demon Farm Map" and the custom enemies being called "Easy kills". I would guess that the story was reported right from the search screen and possibly shortly after entering the map and seeing "Easy Kill" mobs. Player hits quit and reports the mission. They made it very clear in the ToS that you are not to make farming mission and even if yours was not it was basically labeled as such with the possible interpretation that you were trying to attract as many "farmers" as possible and inflate your rating.
Nobody here has to prove it and we don't have to convince you of it or the legitimacy of NCNC's decision, that's their responsibility. I am surprised that you are even confused about it. -
Comment should be anonymous emails and not tells. The first time I left a comment which was to criticize a story that was unplayable I was shocked to see my self send a global tell to the author. Not something I wanted to do. Anonymous comments protect the player who bothers to send comments. It will discourage true constructive critiques.
Second point is that how do you rate an unplayable mission to let others know that it is unplayable if you can't complete the arc. You have to be able to rate these but I do agree that you should have to enter the mission first. I do recall that one mission I abandoned almost imediatley did not get a rating popup and another I tried to fight the mobs and died trying twice did give me a rating popup when I abandoned it.
Maybe that should be a requirement, a minimum time and a defeat?
Edit: I also ignore ratings that only have a few players rating it, especially only one player. I instead pay attention to the description to see if the author really put some effort into it. I feel that is a better gauge then the rating. -
Some emotes don't work with certain characters. Set the emote in the editor and click "start animation" under his picture on the right. He will act out the emote if it works.
-
Yes, I'm sure you can. Patriotic heroes are way too common in comic book lore to be disallowed all together. Just make sure he doesn't resemble a certain captain too much and make sure his background story is different. The background story you put in his description can go a long way to resolving the issue.
Edit: I made a new character myself who has a shield and uses fire melee (I already have an MA scrapper) and he has a very patriotic look with a star on his shield called American Daemon. His background just says "The most patriotic denzion of the Abyss you will ever meet." -
Well I set my custom Boss to Easy Elite Boss and then he spawned as a boss when I ran the mission solo. I have no idea what he will spawn as with a full group. And yes I made him his own custom group so he would not appear with the rest of the mobs.
-
I would rate it as I'm pretty sure the AV can't appear without the author putting them in there. I have noticed a lot of overpowered missions, there is just too much tendency to want to give your creation all the powers but the impact can be over the top. If you set the mob as an Easy Elite Boss they will spawn as a boss against solo characters (not sure how many players will promote them to EB). I'm pretty sure if you designate them an AV they will always be an AV and the only thing that scales is there level. I had to do this in my mission because when I put him as a Boss he would spawn as a LT against solo heroes. I haven't tried the mission with a full group yet but since the EB is set to easy I am hoping he won't get the purple triangles of doom, because then it may be impossible to stop him fleeing at the end.

BOOYAH!!!!! 6 free slots for my main account and 5 for my secondary. I don't need to buy any ... yet.

I would just like to say that I think the devs are doing a great job. Not all powersets are going to please all players but that's just a matter of personal play style. For every powerset on the I12 list that doesn't interest me there is someone else who is thrilled by it and vice versa. Keep up the great work NCNC!
-
I must say I am underwhelmed by the list.

My dear, esteemed Mr. Liquid Horatio X,
Due to the unfortunate "soda on my keyboard" incident which immediately followed the reading of your above-quoted post, I will require you to forfeit any Positron-funded keyboard to myself. Surely such an awesome and cool individual such as yourself can see that this is only fair and equitable given the precedent that you have already established.
I await your contact to facilitate the transfer of ownership of said keyboard with baited breath.
Sincerely,
Father Hallowed Sr.

Just wondering. Seems alot of attention villains need, just is a no go. COH gets alot more attention. This goes for pve and pvp. Will 2008 actually bring some attention?

ROLFMAO! Good one, good one. And we all thought that the WGA strike would prevent good comedy writing. -
One issue I discovered with your "I don't need Provoke" idea. Ouroborus mission that delevel you. If you want to tankermind at low levels Provoke is the way to go. I use Force Bolt but it does not compare in aggro management to Provoke. Your pets can easily grab the aggro from any mob you don't hit with Force Bolt and then all hell can break loose. However since the devs posted an explanation of how taunt and aggro work there is a way to manage aggro through position. The closer you are to a target the more aggro you generate so I put myself on top of the target and attacked as best I could (Force Bolts, Sands of Mu and Blackwand). But if I missed even once I tended to loose aggro. I found it easy to maintain aggro with only one target but difficult with a group. So although you can manage aggro without Provoke, I prefer Provoke.
I also did not take leadership. My issue is that without many attacks or the Leadership pool, I don't need Stamina. With Leadership I need Stamina. So instead of Leadership being 2 or 3 slots, it's actually 5 or 6 slots (depending on how many Leadership powers you want). It wasn't worth it to me and I haven't had any problems with it in PvE. But that's my personal choice (I always stubbornly try to find a way not to take Stamina just to show you don't need it).
