There's quite a few powers that I just can't handle on characters. I used not to be able to play a bubbler as the dispersion bubble quickly gives me a head ache, I find the blazing aura generates a lot of eye strain, my purdy costumes not visible under Ice Armour yada yada.
My way of dealing with it is to make a couple of binds so you can turn off effects on your characters. It turns all effects off, so you can't pick and choose (I'd love this to be an option in game).
It also only effects your display. Your team still cant see your pretty costume.
/bind control+S suppressCloseFxDist 300
/bind shift +S suppressCloseFxDist 0
You can change the control+s and shift+s for any other key combination.
So in game, I can press control+s and most visual crap on my character is removed for me. Shift+s and I see it again.
Note that if your team is getting bubbled, it will look like to you that you haven't been, as the shield wont be visible to you.
It's also a setting that sticks for next characters logged in until you change it, so initially there's a bit of setup to get it to every character. You can save the keybinds for new characters.
You may also need (as a one off) to go into Menu --> Options --> display Settings --> Advanced Graphics Settings --> Suppress FX When Close is Enabled.
Other people will still see the Ice Armour, you won't. -
Not happy about the change with XP boost powers.
And adding, please improve the darn interface for claiming items. -
I'm fine with it.
Powersets are optional. We get some free ones. We can save points.
The price point is resonable for the work required. -

Clever having all those Pet enhancments out at same time as the beast mstery. And nicely done on having mastermind AT on special.
Quote:And this!Congratulations on another notch for making ideas come alive. -
Thank you for this release of MID's.
It's great. I'll paypal some beer money to say thanks later today -
Test.
You get paragon store items for free, and it's like like russian rouletee for when they might delete all characters on there. -
Quote:If by blue bar you mean patrol XP, then you still got double XP for those toons.
No Double xp for Incarnates, and no double xp for any of my toons who have a blue bar (and never can use it up in one night). Double Xp Weekend is Doubly disappointing.
Patrol XP only works for debt during Double XP times. That's why it may not appear to move or be never ending. Double XP doesnt use patrol XP at all for the granting of extra XP.
Patrol XP is less of a bonus than Double XP (1.5 iirc), and Double XP weekends also give double Inf/Prestiage.
It was also supplied for free. -
Quote:As I have read any times, the 'exceptional difficulty' is justified by the reward rate being higher than solo/small team.(Snip)
I now question the validity of everything that has been used to defend all the exceptional challenge mechanics included in the iTrials. If Dark Astoria is aimed at being gentle on soloists, how is exceptional difficulty (by CoH standards) justified on iTrials? -

Quote:Good luck, but buying your prestige via inf is not cheating. Any more than dredging forums to incite people to help beat them nasty people is.Come participate, come cheer us on, Come show that cheating and buying your way into it isn't ok!
I think the similarity of name of your opponent indicates some politics or friction between you, i.e. there more drama to the story. -
Quote:Pretty much this.My variation on this is to just streetsweep for the first Tip, then once I start on it I'll just pretend that whatever Tips I'm running are "kill all" missions to get the rest of the Tips I need for the day. As soon as I've done two of them that way and have 3 more racked up I'll just speed through the remaining 3 Tip missions as fast as possible.
Doing it this way I practically never have to streetsweep for more than the first Tip of the day. -

I hope this isn't going to be the set price of buff pets.

Quote:Indeed I can see some people to who have refused the invention system until the attuned IOs came out for cash.I can only speak to my experience but I saw it was for sale on the market and assumed it was identical to the one already in the game with the benefit of it scaling to my level offset by it being nontransferable. It was this thread which made me aware that it is better than the original in game version.
My comments about what they should do to fix this are merely from the point of view of what response I would expect for good customer service. If they feel they must adjust the proc for game balance then they should be expected to offer refunds to the people who bought it from the market whether those people assumed as I did it would be less effective or whether they knew it was better and thought they were getting a good deal.
What I expect they will actually do is downscale the one on the market without any more than an "oops" to the people who did buy it. This bothers me because I think that is terrible customer service because people can and do buy paragon points to buy things on the market so there is a real money for items aspect to this.
Meanwhile they remain up on the market with a growing knowledge that it is better than the regular one and the problem is getting worse. They need to be pulled from the market immediately.
They will be particularly annoyed when/if it stops working as it has been for them. It is noticeably better than the original IO.
On the other hand, it doesn't promise a certain PPM in the store description, and store brought stuff should be able to be buffed/nerfed/altered like anything else in the game, I don't want to see store brought stuff get special treatment.
I hope it is sorted soon though. It will leave a really bad taste in my mouth for it getting an adjustment only after the sale ends. -

Quote:Its not like I don't often complain about the cost of stuff. I find too much to be over priced on the market. This I don't.Really? The point isn't if it "fits into the allowance" at all. The issue is that it's drastically higher priced than other, purely fluff powers. I certainly would put the frisbee power on par with costume change animations. You don't NEED them, and they're just kind of fun. And they also required separate animation work. None of them are priced anywhere close to the frisbee power. They're half the price.
The devs have an artificially created market with artificially created prices and values. They can throw whatever numbers they want in there, based on what customers seem willing to pay, sure enough. But the system has certain baselines already, and the price of the frisbee is completely out of whack with those.
I think under 300 is about right for getting the impulse buy market. You don't get to decide my points. It does fit under the allowance which is much nicer than not fitting under it.
Compare with purely fluff powers? I think you are cherry picking to choose costume change animations (non powers) as the comparison point. Compare with the temp costume powers, the vanity pets, the detoggling vanity travel powers.
But you're right about that you don't NEED it.
I'm all for pargon having things you don't need for purchase. Over priced and dont need is much better than over priced and need. -
That's useful to know.

Quote:Agreed.I took 2 of my characters for a spin in DA last night.
As being content to play that awards Incarnate threads and such? - good.
As being content to gain incarnate xp and threads and such? - not good.
If the second one is my objective I am better off to sit around however long it takes waiting for an incarnate trial to form or to run the SSAs for Astral Threads and Astral Merits every week. Both of these options are painfully boring to me.
My other option is blow off the incarnate stuff which then as Bill wrote I may as well go Premium. I am a diehard fan of the game but when they have someone like me seriously pondering going Premium they might want to examine what they are doing.
