Frozen Armor Visual Effects for the Mastermind Epic Power Set
If I recall correctly, Frozen Armor is the one that makes you look like you're encased in ice cubes. Is this true, and, if so, is there some way to disable this visual effect on an epic power set, aside from the slash command that locally removes visual effects?

No, there is no way to only suppress this one effect.
Edit -> I've thought for a while now that Frozen Armor needs, as part of power customization, a Hoarfrost-y version of the powers. Basically, a less intrusive visual form that still sticks to the theme. I think that Ice Armor, and by extension the ancillaries that have it, have suffered in popularity because of the graphics.

Yes, you will look like an ice cube.

Mace Mastery has a defense shield, Scorpion Shield, like Frozen Armor, but without the intrusive ice block.
Now if only corruptors had Chill Mastery or at least a blue side defense toggle...
Ah, but unless I (along with the various fan wikis) am mistaken, Masterminds do not get Mace Mastery as a choice. Thus, my alternative is Field Mastery, unless I wish to get a completely illogical- and shield-less- epic power pool to match my Beast/Storm Mastermind.

Every AT has access to Mace Mastery (except Kheldians), but it's a Patron pool, not an Ancillary Pool, and so has to be unlocked by running a Patron arc as a Villain.
I am concerned... which Wiki states that MMs don't get Mace Mastery?

OP: check out Mid's Hero Builder. It's a great program that can let you see how you can build various characters without needing to flip through a wiki.

Excuse me, when I said Masterminds I meant Hero Masterminds. I don't care to switch to villain side just so I can swing a mace around like a raving lunatic.
Well it is a lot less ice cubie than it was originally.

i must be one of the few poeple who likes the graphics for ice armor lol
in terms of builds though most of my mm go with mace mastery cause i can get the shield with only 1 power pick and it also gives energy defense and toxic resist which ice armor has neither
however on my doms i frequently pick ice mastery because it has so many good powers in the set

You may be an ice cube but at least Masterminds have that option.
As a note, I know with the Cold defender/corruptor Ice shields, you can change the fx in the costume designer to make them considerably less obtrusive. Change colors to variants of grey, and they become barely visible. I haven't tried this with the Epic pool, I don't know if its possible for epic pool powers.

Once upon a time, when I was new to the game and anything seemed possible, I thought Ice Armor would look like some kind of fantasy plate armor, but made of ice. I was rather disappointed to see what it really looked like.

They need move their UI designers from the super secret project back to CoH and start cracking the whip to add that option to the interface.
