Quote:I've seen it and similar more than a few times, before F2P too when it was costly to set up.After 8+ years of playing this game, just when I think I've seen everything...
It's definitely one person playing eight toons simultaneously. I watched them line up one by one until they were all put on auto-follow to the leader, and then off they ran, attacking NPCs in sync. I'm sure it was all done using free accounts but wow... Is it really that hard to find a team nowadays?!
I don't really think its about the lack of teams, and more about being able to do it - challenge of a different kind. -
The single player game does work for me. It works extremely well for me.
I very much enjoy running content solo (and in a small team).
It lets me down when it comes to the Incarnate level stuff, but <shrug> I'm not a solo only player. I like most TF/SFs, often lead teams and enjoy PUGs.
I find the Incarnate trial stuff only worth doing for the rewards. I seldon think it matters which character I use, it's a mass particle blob of buffs/debuffs/AoE that renders AT, build and IO choices into meaningless desicons for the most part.
The incarnate solo/team stuff in DA I find a lot of fun. But so slow and painful that I do the trials for the rewards, (which I hate having to repeat multple times each characters) and then take my time doing the DA Arcs. -
Quote:Pretty sure like any crafted costume, they will be locked to the crafting character.
So obviously once crafted the guns are available account wide -
Just wanted to point out that the renames due to generic by GM works differently to rename tokens. Its a manual process where you send 3 names via email to the GM and they manually rename your character.

I took my main, a Mind PermaDom into PvP. The changes in it's powers were considerable, it played completely different, my power choices etc didn't work. Durations of Mezes changed.
I have no interest in making a second build and spending the time to IO to check out PvP further.
My character should of been at least competitive, with player skill beating me. -
I'd be happy to see it as a donation button in the market interface. Even a tick box when you buy points that let you sip the bonus points in favour for a % of cash going to a 'worthwhile' charity.
But am very against the badges or pet powers for it. -
Yep, it would be good to have a statesman statue.
With a badge. -
Quote:Hi Micheal,im looking for feedback i have an idea im sure its probably been suggested before, i was thinking that there should be a vert rare respec made avaible to play, which allows them to not only rechoose powers but also you primary and seconday build. for instance a fire/fire tank can choose to become a broadsword/ will power tank etc. this respec should allow you to keep all badge, contacs alignment etc
this respec can be obtained by doing a New incarnate trial which would call for all player to have hybrid unlocked, through random very rare drop, availbe to vip t9 players or through purchase from ncsoft that way the developers make money
With only two posts I'm betting you aren't on the forums very much.
The posters who are slamming your idea are more often friendly and helpful, but this particular idea has been suggested many times - as you may of guessed.
Please don't let this put you off more suggestions to the forums. Using the search function can help with seeing if it's an often suggested idea.
I think they have already covered why this is unlikely to happen
- Devs have said they don't want it
- A lot of this game is about re-rolling your characters, and seeing the 1-50 with different powersets
- It would be a hard design task
- Respeccing and saving those enhancements from one power set combo to another would be a nightmare task. -
Quote:I haven't seen a single post requesting the comic book genre be removed from City of Heroes. I bet you cant find a single post that does.I could show you some comic books that disagree, but it would be beside the point. Because people aren't complaining about outlying bits of the genre and even bits of other genres being added to City of Heroes. They're requesting that bits of the super hero comic book genre be removed from City of Heroes.
edit: ahh I misread - you said 'bits' which I missed, sorry. -
Quote:This. If everyone were guaranteed to be in the same zone at all times of day it might be spam. As it is, every few minutes or so there could be people who just logged in, people who just zoned in, or people who just finished a trial and might need fresh meat that did not see the prior message(s).
Had enough to find people leading that I'll cut them some slack over how they recruit.
Often a person recruiting every few minutes in broadcast will get people each time they do broadcast -
I tend to play thier missions, which would of sidekicked you down.

(some snippage ahead)
Quote:This game should concentrate on it's audience, which as you state has a high proportion of female gamers.
2) The target audience of comic books is and always has been teenage males. Your average teenage boy does not want to see a realistically depicted female character. He wants his female characters to be impossibly attractive and improbably proportioned. When a teenage male sees an attractive woman, the first thing he notices is either her butt or her boobs (depending on which direction he is seeing her from). If he tells you otherwise, he is most likely lying. Sure, he will notice other features, but that's what he sees first every time. I won't lie, it's still the first thing *I* notice, and I haven't been a teenager for a while now. I'm not a complete pig, I notice other things as well, but those two features are what draw my eye in the first place.
3) It is exceptionally rare for comic books to get flak for oversexualization from the people who actually READ them. This game has a rather high proportion of female players, but how many of those female players are also comic book fans? Probably not very many. -

Quote:Ugh. Still, i think we knew all it will happen. They already have new merits ready to go in the game. Celestial, Cosmic, and Transcendent merits. Try linking them in the chat box some time, they're there.
So glad they got rid of base slavage though - that was confusing -
Or use paypal linked to a savings account. That works.

Quote:I'm sorry to nit pick away from common thread, but wow - you really include a dog in your count of women you grew up with! And part of what makes an alpha man an alpha man is physical attractiveness to women.
Look, I know that most women and most men are wired up a little differently, and I know that in general women aren't as concerned about physical appearance relative to other aspects of a man's character as men are about women's physical appearance, but it's incredibly naive to think that women aren't attracted to a fine specimen of a man. I'm not a woman, but I have four sisters and grew up in a household with up to six women (seven if you count my aunt's female dog) and me being the only male at one point, so I don't feel like I'm coming out out left field here. I've seen my fair share of female lust from prepubescent schoolgirls right through women in their golden years to know that it's not always about the money, it's not always about the sense of humor, it's not always about the intelligence. Sometimes it's about raw sex appeal.

Quote:Well, if you ask me, I'll say the opposite. Its my prime time for playing, so I really tend to notice. (8:30 pm = after dinner and kidspawn are in bed)Yep, they don't seem to change any message unless they absolutely have to.
An example of this is the "standard downtime listing" which says Thursady even though the standard downtime day has been Tuesday for at least a year, especially since Freedom launched and updates the market and WST every Tuesday.
Thursdays are now relegated to "if it needs it" downtime, such as for patches.
Believe me, I am usually up at that time in the morning. I rarely ever worry about downtime on Thursday, but Tuesday is almost guaranteed to have downtime at 6am CT.
Just ask anybody who is usually on at that time of day.
Or, wait until this Thursday and then next week on Tuesday and watch what happens the week after that as well. I bet Tuesday is their main downtime day now, just like I have known for a long long time.
Thursday is the regular maint time. It's standard. The exceptions are really rare - though it seldon last the whole two hours.
Tuesdays are often but not always hit.
Edit: The market listing and WST don't need servers to go down. The market used to get updated before the irregular tuesday downtime. -
Sadly that's the default message whenever the game goes down. Whether its an emergency or not.
It would be really nice if they announced ahead of time when they were patching. At one stage, they were quite good about this, often having known down times up to a day ahead. But it seems to slip off the importance list rather quickly. Now I just expect to happen and be happy if it's not (Tuesday is often patch day). Cynics are always happy when wrong
My guess is fixing the LFG problem, in which case we will see patch notes after it's done, or the adjustment of hybrid farmability in which case we may or may not see patch notes. -
Put me down for not wanting to waste GM time on this.
Team leaders trying to get members not equal Aggressive LFM spammers.
Quote:I would call 'deal with it' a non hostile reaction to being told how to shut up in a channel. I somehow feel you ordered people to stop and maybe threatened petitions for being being spammers to judge by the tone of your post.In my experience, aggressive LFM spammers, without a single exception, were well aware of the disruption they were causing. And they didn't care. And they made those facts clear to me in hostile terms
And I laugh at the "without a single exception" having seen dozens of people recruiting this weekend being told about the LFG and replying 'oh thanks'.
I do hope people move from help to LFG but honestly people will do what gets results. The community will regulate as needed. If no one ever joins from help chat, then help chat will stop being used.
There are few enough people willing to be leaders that banning them from channels would not be a good idea. -
I'd go the defender. The damage bonus when solo plus the extra modifers for -res will help greatly, probably over taking the cor in damage output when you count in the no scourge (which I didnt know about).

/sign.
Over a whole weekend meant I could leave messages in SG MOTD's and tell friends and random Pugs about it. -
Quote:My experience is different. I can only talk about what I saw on Virtue and Justice, but 'Lam Farms' was nothing like the amount of 'lf Magi farm' broadcast. I'm not sure who you mean by 'most of us', a server, all servers, or the people on your global chans.Actually the first few days most of us were more interested in Interface/Destiny than Judgement/Lore so we tried Lambda first - and found that the final battle was nigh-impossible without any incarnate shifts or judgements (it was FFG stacking overload - the Battle Orbs kept boosting Defense to an almost infinite amount) so we just farmed the outside stuff to get iXP since we had run BAF about 9000 times each.
There werent any threads complaining about farming Lam - a lot of other complaint threads about grinding sure.
After day 2, there really wasnt that many fails either. Lots of deaths and fustration at collecting temps, but the trial still got finished. -
Mayhems are a must to do redside, as they are fun, give temp powers, have an explore badge and can be out leveled.
Blueside, I really like doing the wedding ring arc in striga. Though you can flash back, its a really useful power. -
Quote:I was taunted a lot last night by PPD lobsters on my alignment mission.
I'm not aware of PPD having any taunting abilities but haven't done any content with then since I23 came out. It's not entirely new though, Black Scorpion used to have a Taunt power that would say you were Taunted but in fact did nothing (maybe debuffed your range? dunno). With Issue 23 that power now works properly on him, and I believe there may be one or two other older mobs that do it as well.
