Quote:We can already do this using emotes. It would be nifty to choose the idle animation poses for our characters but I don't think it could get much more complicated than that.
As for the OP, it's a cool idea, though I believe most of the content was made vague for this very reason. The newer content, although in my opinion being better for the most part, does seem to force our characters into specific dialogue choices. -

Imminent? I'm hoping you know something I don't considering there haven't been any AE updates in an eternity. Most of the newer power sets aren't even in it yet and, from what I've heard, the dev who was responsible for AE was reassigned.

Quote:Cost points? Dude, I would sell my -soul- for the ability to transfer all of my slots from other servers to the one of my choosing!Signed here too. I wish there was some way to sacrifice one slot on another server for one on the server I choose; maybe make it cost points.
Even I would be hard pressed to maintain that many characters! -
The idea may have been done before, though I still see a lot of potential for a VG like this. Which server is it going to be on?
Also, the name could be a little catchier even if I like the reasoning behind it. -
I'm 100% behind this. Too often I've been on teams that have failed missions that everyone thought was going smoothly until the last second.

If you purchased Going Rogue you should have access to Praetorian content, the alignment system and probably a few other perks I can't remember right off of the top of my head.

I've seen this happening a lot lately. I believe I heard somewhere that it was confirmed as a bug.

Reiska, that was a very well written and informed post I would just like to ask a question related to it, though. It seems unfair to me to judge Brutes based on their damage cap and request it be nerfed when the AT's damage isn't static. It takes a fairly significant amount of building (and maintaining) to keep their damage comparable to a Scrapper and even more to surpass it.
I personally like the potential to do damage being higher but the damage, generally, remaining lower other than the occasional spike.
Those are just my two cents, though. -
Quote:Well said on the part relating to Johnny. Tankers play their role extremely well in the game at the current time. I can't help but think that the comic counterparts he is looking at are actually Brutes now that they are available as both villains AND heroes. You've been on about this tanker thing for a looooong time, which I can respect- you feel passionately about it, you're willing to agitate for it, and that's great.
But it's time to ask yourself why nobody's joined the fight.
I had my own unpopular cause, the market merger. I rode that hobbyhorse for years, from shortly after market launch until the devs finally bowed to the inevitable. Early on, there were only a few of us making the case. As time passed and the issues came into starker relief, more and more informed players joined the cause.
Over the years here I've found that strong arguments tend to resonate with the community & pick up support as time passes.
If a point you're making or a suggestion you're pushing isn't gathering that kind of community support, there's usually a reason... -
Quote:Very well said. That's generally the same explanation I use when people are confused by the origins.Personally I see most robots as Tech.
I use Science mainly for "Biological" characters created by or maintained through Scientific means. For me Science generally = biological processes, Tech = electrical processes.
FYI to me Science also overlaps heavily with Mutation; I seperate the two by asking whether the character is something that "happened through an accident nature" (Mutation) or "happened through the action of intelligent agents" (Science). Mainly it only really drives the flavor of the character and the distinctions are subtle. Same with Tech/Sci in a lot of cases. -
Quote:48 characters on Virtue with three other servers with 12 and a second account with half a dozen on Virtue. Serious altaholism here!yeah, forgot to mention that I have all 12 slots full on my 2nd account as well. 10 Of them are part of a not all that functional themed SG I made for the hell of it. The other two are used for SG/VG tweaks in cases like me forgetting to login before losing Super Star.

I just made a thread not too long ago on this! I'm glad that there are others who feel the same way. As for character slots - the more the merrier!
-
I would be completely against this... and all of my reasons why have already been suggested above.

Uh oh! Here comes City of Spoilers in all of my channels!

I have a relatively even number of the five origins on my roster, though I have noticed that Natural tends to be my most popular. I'm a fan of the non-super powered harass.

Interesting replies! Many of these sets I don't have enough experience to speak on, though I can say that Ice Armor on a Tanker is incredibly effective as long as you don't mind your character being a 'clicky' Tanker as opposed to one you can leave the room mid-fight to grab a soda. The debuff to surrounding enemies is the icing on the cake... though, I admit the ice cubes almost completely hide your character. An alternate animation might be nice for some people.
It also sounds like I might give Gravity Control another try since it doesn't sound so boring to play.
Battle Axe left a bad taste in my mouth, though. It'll be awhile before I give that one another shot. I ended up remaking the character as Titan Weapons with an axe instead. -
I would certainly pay for an AE update. Powers, maps, enemies, the ability to pick individual powers instead of just sets... the list goes on. It appears that it's low-priority if it's even on the list at all.

No thank you. The way I see it, if you want a sidekick find a friend to act out the part of your +1.
-
If you mess with the costume creator you can already make them for the most part. I'm not sure which aspect you're wanting in a HEAT that you can't work out via costume and power choices already available. Although, I admit, you may surprise me with something I hadn't thought of.
-
I've always been an avid roleplayer and leaned far more strongly on character concept than raw min/Max power. Recently, however, I've been looking a bit more into the mechanics of the game and this brings me to my simple question:
Are Battle Axe and Gravity Control drastically underpowered sets?
I've played both and I can't motivate myself to play them even with a good concept because they just seem BAD.
Other than that, out of curiosity, are there other sets that people feel this way about as a whole? -
The issue with Blasters, in my opinion, is that they do seem to be falling behind and could use some kind of revamp. Unfortunately, every suggestion I've heard in these threads seems to ruin the concept (that I like) of the AT. Blasters should be the very definition of a glass cannon.
