You are correct. I guess in my original post, I insinuated that I would get the defense from the Enforcers. I knew coming into this that I wouldnt. I can get ranged defense for myself to take care of this (althought the bubbles would give me defense to all). I just cared about the survivability of my pets, since traps offers nothing in a heal except for some +regen from triage beacon.

I've never had a Robot character as of yet. I hear lots of raves over burn patch, especially if you get an immobilize going.
  2. I see alot of people picking Robot/Traps Over Thugs/Traps.

I see the base value for the Protector Bots shields is around 7ish. And the base value for the Enforcers maneuvers is around 6.5ish (dont quote on these numbers). How greedy are the protector bots with the shielding. Should I expect it on me often, not often enough? Rarely?

It seems with the enforcers that I would not have to wait around for bubbles. Cast and equip/upgrade the enforcers, bam done. And then close to 20ish% defense total. Now for the Protector bots to shield me and the others, will they do it during a fight, or just when things die down? (no pun intended).

Thanks for the info, been trying to decide what to choose between these two, so trying to weigh the pro's and con's.

Thanks Tonality. You are always quick to respond with good advice. I'll check out the MM Boards for /traps advice and AVs. And yes, being on a MM on a pug might be a tad bit troublesome. Will have to consider much here. Still toying around with my other original choices also. Will check the Defender and Corr boards too later today.
  4. Been wanting to make a Traps toon. Something to do the ITF for something different, and maybe the ability to solo an even level AV for grins.

So, between defenders, corruptors and mm's, which is more viable. I'm assuming all are, but what i'am looking for is the pro's and con's to each.

Figured I'd probably choose between traps/sonic def, fire/ or sonic/traps corr, and not sure at all on the best combo's for the mm's (and also how much more of a pain the mm would be on the ITF).

Thanks in advance for the advice.

When I decided to re-try the character, I assumed he would be able to deal with enemies +1 lvl; I don't remember if I have x2 players, though. The current enemy was Councils, and at that lvl the only "exotic damage" is fire/ice from their part. From my own PoV, I have 4 WP powers: HPT, MoB, QR and IW=very indecent damage resistance, at least to F, C, E, NE (and toxic, but meh XP).

A build was requested. I have not made a build for this character, I can list his attacks, but not the amount of slots and enhanceds:

    Pulverize
    High Pain Tolerance
    Mind over Body
    Bash
    Jawbreaker
    Swift
    Indominable Will
    Hasten
    Super Speed
    Health
    Whirling Mace
    Quick Recovery
    Stamina
Clobber (Don't remember when exactly I got this power, but still)
    Shatter

I remember that not every single slot in my powers were filled, but I remember the character does not have the infamy to SO out.

There, now I have filled out your needs, or some of them...

I have made a build for the character, but I'm not that good at making leveling builds, I think, so I'd like it for you to analize a little.
Drop Bash, Get Rise to the Challenge. If you have a smooth attack chain after that, drop jawbreaker maybe for fast healing. Fast Healing, along with Rise to The Challenge, will make a huge difference.
  6. Just got my WM/Stone to 50 and im working on the build.

Going to pick up shatter and crowd control, but debatin on Whirling Mace.

Would it be better to pick up whirling mace, or grab dark obliteration? Any ideas? Seems basically whether i want a quicker charging smaller radius, or longer charge and larger radius.

What difficulty are you using? Have you tried, let's say, +3/8 with boss's? I run that often to help friends level up, and would love to see how well you survive against that kinda set!
  10. Been pvping on my lvl 42 Em/regen. Enjoying it so far, but wondering what powerpools I should be using? I pvp in SC mostly. Flyers and some jumpers give me the hardest time now. I could go cj + sj, but i really enjoy having phase. Guess you can't have your cake and eat it too

I know that I don't have fitness in there, but with a few set bonus's, and a couple unique's, it's tolerable for some hit and run. Longer fights tend to hurt though. Should be better once I get some purples in there.

    Thanks for the advice

Mace/Invuln will be great at any mission that mostly does S/L dmg, and will also be great on the ITF. My personal recommendation is that once your friend hits 35, that's what you should do daily.

Mace/Shield is the one you want. A boost in damage, soft-capped defenses, a nice extra AoE, and the flexibility of being able to fight just about anything.
I have a /shield, so trying to use something other than that. Already have a elec/shield brute and scrapper, dm/shield brute and scrapper. So getting tired of /shield Thanks for the advice though.
  14. So Im considering making a farming toon, and choosing from these two builds.

Has to be able to handle an onslaught of 53's and 54's (i know, not optimal farming, but I also help pl alts/friend).

Was thinking the /elec could handle end management easily, even with a high recharge build, and has a dmg aura. Even with the new change and the regen/heal added with energize, how sturdy is it? Will It require Aid Self?

I see posts of people softcapping /invul, if even just to s/l. Everytime I play with the builder it seems like I'm just falling short of 40 s/l defense, and thats with 10 baddies around me. Someone enlighten me please, since im a invul noob. The #'s seem ok with invul, but just doesnt seem anything great, so i have my doubts about survivability.

    Thanks for the input/advice.

    Go with that.

For secondaries, I recommend WP, Regen, Nin. Each one has it's unique traits and weaknesses. WP is generally cheaper to build to decent usage. Regen and Nin cost a bit more, but can be quite effective once you get them there.
I was going to roll up a Em/regen after much debate for Siren's Call. I have a spines/regen thats in the 20's, but would love something that hit a bit harder for those tougher targets (regen scrappers, tanks). But i'm seeing more and more people saying to go with ELM. Is it because TS hits hard and has a chance to crit? Are any of the ELM's attacks hard hitting? Does ELM really hit harder then ole EM?

Sorry for all the questions, but was just going to roll up another stalker tonight, and I guess I'm holding off to choose between those two. Thanks!
  19. You know, was thinking about this this morning before work. I also pvp in sirens alot. And whether just team playing with an empathy I want to make, or making a buff bot for siren's, the controller would not have AB at 35.

Does DR in siren's make AB really not worth it anyway?

I feel stupid for never considering the whole buffing pet thing. Guess I'll go controller. Just have to decide between Ice/Empathy or Stone/Empathy. Which do you guys think would be more 'useful' on an ITF?
  21. So, never made a empath, but since I do RWZ alot, Thought id make one on my other account to help me do some AE missions.

So the question is, would empathy in this manner be better suited on a controller or a defender? I might actually take the toon on a tf or whatever later on, so wasn't sure if the empathy defender is more needed on teams (and better buffs) rather than the dmg/control that a empathy controller can do.

Anyone else been in my situation and wasn't sure which to make?
  22. Ok, so I have a 50 purpled out ss/stone brute that I farm with quite a bit. And i'm starting up my second account tomorrow. So I thought what would be a good toon (hero or villain) that I could roll up to help my brute farm better.

The second account will be on another computer in my family room, so i wont be right at that computer for ease of use.

What do you guys think would be a good toon to make? I was thinking just a plain ole empathy defender for the buffs. I'm sure i could do a kin, even though sb isnt super needed (i'm already at 24+ mph speed wise, guess that could help my end and recharge a bit, but im heavily slotted with +recharge uniques and end isnt a huge prob) but i suppose it could help. I would love me some fulcrum shift, but not sure how i could swing that at both computers, and being at the aggro cap.

Maybe a sonic defender? Put that -res (30%) toggle on my brute, but also not sure if that would get my defender the aggro.

    Any suggestions?
  23. I have a second account i havent used in ages. It's still under my main plaync account, and im thinking about firing it up.

Will a Invite A Friend Back code work? And if so, can someone who can send me one send a PM and I'll give you my email Thanks!

    Yea, what Mac said.

I would NEVER wanna use a defense based toon on Nems. Stacked Vengeance is rough, like a bad bottle of tequila.

The Crab i farmed with was for a specific situation. For a mish, that you could hover, that of course didnt eat through defense
  25. I used to farm on my crab quite a bit.

I started off farming with the bane, got it soft capped, and would herd up the wall in Cimerora for grins.

Then tried on my crap, picked an outdoor mish (or the wall in Cimerora again), soft capped on ranged and close on aoe, and did it up. Think from the App's i picked bile spray and arctic breath but dont hold me to that. I picked up hover, slotted swift for flight speeds, and same for hover. It was soooo boring, but helped me outfit some of my other toons.
