Countess Crey had finally done it! Finally, Muahahahahaaaa!!!! Her minions had made the perfect clone of Synapse!
But it turned out the clone wasn't quite perfect. It was Synapse in all ways, with all the hero's powers. But it had one flaw. The clone spoke only in the most vile, foul, invective-laced language imaginable. Language so lecherous a sailor would blush. Speech so curse-filled that even George Carlin would say, "Hey buddy, watch the language!" Diatribes so debased...well, you get the picture.
Flying into a rage at the failure, Countess Crey made her first and last mistake. In her wrath, the Countess pushed the clone Synapse out of the 59th floor of the Crey Industries headquarters building. The clone, of course, died.
Then the PPD finally had her. Countess Crey was arrested a short while later, and currently sits in The Zig, awaiting a hearing.
The charge?

They didn't purge Sleestak. *sigh* -
Satesman is walking along the fence dividing Paragon City from the Rogue Isles (it's a joke, so I can ignore in-game geography!). He comes to a section of fence that has been knocked down - obviously from villain-side - and signs of a big party. There's a burnt-out fire, beer, wine and liquor bottles, cigaratte butts, used needles, used condoms...just trash everywhere.
While he's sitting there fuming, Statesman sees Lord Recluse on the other side of the fence. "Hey, Recluse, get over here!" calls Statesman. Lord Recluse ambles over. "What do you want?" He asks Statesman.
"Well, look here! Your people have broken down this fence and made a huge mess here in Paragon City!" Statesman replies. "I want you to get someone out here, clean up this junk and repair this fence."
"Oh really?" sneers Lord Recluse. "Well, it looks to *me* like there were some "heroes" (snort) having a lame-[censored] party on *your* side of the fence, they looked over here and saw how much fun we have, so they broke down the fence and joined the winning team. *I* think *you* should fix the fence and clean up your own crap!"
"What? What?" splutters Statesman. "This is obviously the work of your people. Cleans this up - now! - or I will get a lawyer and sue you!"
"Bwahahahahaaaa!" roars Lord Recluse. "Where are *you* going to get a lawyer?!?!" -

Oh right. I was thinking about the Plasmatic Taser.
-
temporary powers are just that...temporary. They either have a set number of uses or an in-game time-limit. Right-click on your Taser Dart and it should show the number of uses you have left on the power. Finally, you cannot enhance temporary powers at all, but some of them can benefit from the effects of inspirations. -
Why are Practiced Brawler and Active Defense click powers, where all other mez-protection powers are toggles? The click seemed like a disadvantage before, but now that toggles don't drop while mezzed, it seems even more egregious. Can anybody explain this? -

I thought NCSoft bought - not leased - the game engine when they bought CoX in its entirety, and keeping the Cryptic logo around was just part of the deal. -
Hey all, thanks for the responses.
My friend had some RL issues pop up and I was unable to get my grubby paws on his PC last weekend, but when I do I'll post the specs and such.
Thanks again. -
Hello all,
I have a friend who is having some major issues with his game. I bought him a few booster packs (Cyborg, Magic and the Mac Pack) for his birthday, and he says a couple of days later his game completely screwed up. I haven't seen it yet, but here is his description of the problem:
He can load the game and log in, but there are characters missing from all the text in the game.
The top half of his screen is covered by an orange haze, and the game screen is scrunched down into the lower half of the monitor.
When he gets into the game, if he takes *any* action - move, activate a toggle, anything - the game freezes the entire computer, such that my friend has to hit the reset button.
He has uninstalled the game and reinstalled twice, to no avail. Also, my friend says his PC is working just fine for everything else he does. However, CoX is the most graphics-intensive thing he does on his PC.
As I said, I haven't looked at his PC yet, so I don't have any specs to give. I can post those later when I get to see the machine.
I am thinking it is 1) video driver, or maybe 2) Direct X corruption.
So, has anybody seen anything like this before? Any ideas? -

I'd also like to see more revealing and 'pretty' costumes for males. Ruffles and lace can be used to very good effect in male costumes.

I wholeheartedly agree. I've wanted to make a fop character for a while. -
Just to contribute to the OP:
My server would have no team-size requirements for TFs/SFs. I can never get a team together long enough/at the right time/etc. to run TFs. Consequently, after 3 1/2 years here, I have run exactly ONE TF. It was Manticore's, and I couldn't tell you what it's actually about because the team just blazed through it and I didn't get to read ANY of the story, look around, etc. I hate, hate, HATE being locked out of content because I don't play the game 8 hours a day. -

Wicked Wendy:[ QUOTE ]
Well the first mission we get is the Safeguard in Talos. Now keep in mind I said TALOS that's 31-36 level territory so you sort of assume at that point that players have at least some clue how to play their characters and the game.
[/ QUOTE ]
Talos is actually more like 20-30; it's Bricks and Founders that are closer to 31-36. At 31 you can't get scanner missions in Talos anymore. Still, the point stands that by that level they should have some idea of how to play.
[/ QUOTE ]
I believe Wicked Wendy is referring to the Safeguard where you protect the Talos Island Bank, not the Safeguard you actually get from running Scanner missions in Talos Island. In Talos it is possible to get the Steel Canyon Safeguard (Levels 20-25) and the Independence Port Safeguard (Levels 25-30). The Talos Island Safeguard is Levels 30-35. -

The thing about defense is it works great...until it doesn't.What I mean by that is that defense is binary - it either works or it doesn't. Resistance, on the other hand, always works. If you have resistance to a damage type - and your resistance hasn't been debuffed to nothing - that resistance will always reduce incoming damage. Defense can fail, in which case you take all the incoming damage.
That said, what you have to watch out for is "cascading defense failure". Say you get hit by a defense debuffing attack (for example Radiation Blast attacks), that makes it more likely the next attack will hit, which debuffs defense even more and makes it even more likely the next attack will hit and debuff defense more...and so forth.
With the Super Reflexes set, the powers provide resistance to defense debuffs, which mitigates cascading defense failure. As a blaster you will not have this defense debuff resistance. Something to keep in mind. -
I was dupin' some rares and just jerk hacking in general and broke the servers. Sorry.
