Yamato, do remember that the Doctor is Galifrean and comes from a race where very long lifespans are normal, so they may have evolved a way of coping with that sort of stuff.

Quote:Do not tell anybody, but Prometheus is infact a time traveling robot from the year 2300 who has come to help us defeat the thing that destroyed the world in his future.Yes, not who, but what is the shiny blue giant calling itself Prometheus in Ouroboros? By his own account, he is the mythical Olympian Titan who gave humanity the flame (and the Flame) which spurred them on to greatness, and was then punished by the god Zeus in return.
Also by his own account, however, we learn that Zeus was not really a god, but an Incarnate empowered by the Well of Furies. We also learn that Prometheus has a very antagonistic attitude towards the Well. He also has a lot of knowledge about both the Well and the Coming Storm/Battalion. So just what is he?
Given how butthurt he seems in his attitude towards the Well of Furies, and how he's rallying the troops against Cole, it seems very possible to me that he might have been the Well's chosen champion in ancient times, and was cast aside by that enigmatic font of power (perhaps in favor of Zeus?)
Could he be a member of the Battalion's alien race? One who turned against them, and now seeks to stop their Coming Storm? Just how old is he, anyway? Does he precede even beings such as Tielekku, Hequat, and Ermeeth?
Or- and here's another idea, playing off the speculation above- what if he is an embittered former Chosen of the Well, seeking revenge. He wants to destroy its current champion, Cole, and finally claim all of its power for himself. Perhaps the Coming Storm is actually coming to stop his multiversal plans of conquest, which is why he's concerned about their arrival?
We still haven't ever quite figured out what that whole destroyed Ouroboros imagery from Mender Ramiel's first mission was about, after all.
He also went back in time and helped to plant Croatoa when it was just a barren dessert. -

Guys...Zwillinger, Positron...why would you reveal this?!
This does not make me want to play the arcs more, before I had sort of a bit of curiosity going on because really there was no one that you could kill in a sensible way, and this just KILLS IT!.
At this point you might as well just post the remaining arc, and make it free to play. -

you know who i don't want to die...Fusionette and Flamebeaux.
Why you ask? Because they annoy all of you. -
Aliens at Saints vs Colts? Completely unbelievable!
everyone knows that Aliens are all Green Bay fans. -

The trend of
Slim Jim "FOR REAL MEN!"
Dr Pepper "FOR REAL MEN!"
I could think of more, but at the moment those two come to ind immediately.

Quote:To be fair GG...CWK has always taunted us with his brain in a jarness so I am not surprised that we all make one. That'll only be for a while - recently it's been City of Ghostbusters and then City of Street Fighters - and right now, it's City of Brains in Jars
Quote:Right, but that's a flaw with another game's implementation of environmental weaponization, not with the mechanic/concept itself. -
Quote:They let you pick crap up and use it as a weapon in CO..and generally it just doesn't work. The time it takes you to pick up an object and then chuck it is about the same as using two real attacks for no real attack benefit. Honestly if you want something like this for SS why not ask them to change hurl to be like propel and have the object hurled be random instead of just a rock?IMO, the majority, if not all of the flaws in this game stem from a simple fact: the people calling the shots on the team do not respect the genre and would rather butcher it and force a round peg to conform to an outdated fantasy game mechanics square hole rather than create mechanics that better support the chosen genre.
It's as if someone was working on a racing game that didn't really like racing games and so they designed it like a half baked RTS because they really like playing Command and Conquer in their downtime.

No new Lore powers?
I am sad now.
((yes I am aware lore got expanded in 20.5, but there are still a ton of possible lore pets to have out there, like Werewolves and Zombies)) -
Eh a Maul clone showed up in a comic already.

Shouldn't Sam Jackson's Nick Fury be /Sonic.
"Don't Die ************" -
The universe in which fringe takes place, is a cruel cruel place.
Not only did Peter get excised from time, when he comes back he lost his Pants, what Cruel god takes a man's PANTS! -
Aren't Parker and Doc Ock supposedly up there as well?
-
In the same way that..a Willpower stalker that has no powers beyond being determined manages to will themselves invisible or how a Regen stalker...regenerates themselves invisible?

The episode was good, the season is okay so far even if they are rushing the crap out of the peter storyline.
I was however disappointed that the last episode did not involve a Giant Fungus Monster rampaging through downtown Boston though. -
Quote:NO! If We destroy evil, stronger evil will come to fill void!...if it were discovered to be genetic?
Full disclosure: as a Christian, I don't beleive evil is genetic or that human agency can abolish it without divine intervention; this is purely a "what if scenario" that should be divorced from spirituality.
Some/many/all(?) psychological conditions have a chemical and possibly genetic origin, with others being a result of environmental conditions. This ranges from destructive urges such as suicidal depression to social variance such as sexuality.
It can be extrapolated then, that sociopathy (defined here as an emotional disdain for society that renders one incapable of feeling like they "ought to" obey the rules) and psychopathy (defined here as an inability to comprehend society in a way that allows one to comprehend what the rules actually are) may be the result of genetic flaws in an individual. Almost literally, "brain wired differently".
If a retrovirus were developed that could isolate and remove these genetic disorders, and repair them if they developed from environmental conditions, should it be used?
For this discussion, let's ignore tangents such as the possibility of nightmare runaway mutations and the like, and concentrate on the main issues:
- Every human develops a conscience that they cannot simply ignore: they can only overcome it with will/logic. You can ignore the needs of society, but your reason will never be "I felt like it".
- Potentially 'benevolent' social/mental disorders are also abolished, such as autistic savants, or some cases of ADD or ADHD (so no mad scientists consumed by a single theory, etc)
- Morality and Ethics are entirely determined over time by the needs of society and community. It is almost impossible to avoid wanting to pitch in and help make things better. What 'better' means is determined, recursively, by society itself.
*twacks KitsuneNinetails* Oooonnee Mooore thing! Killing people because of Genetics is wrong! -
Quote:Well, do remember that the Cosmic Cube(s) are in play in this movie, Loki gets his hands on one or more than one things could get interesting. If Loki's the big bad I'd be surprised if only because he wasn't the strongest Villain in Thor, he was more a manipulator than a warrior, which isn't going to be great against a whole team of Super Heroes. But also for a movie that took 5 other movies to build into, and 4 major heroes and 2-3 confirmed minor heroes, I just don't think they are going to put one big bad. They'd need more villains and I don't see other Villains bowing to Loki the manipulator.
Plus if he's the big bad, I don't think he ends up in cuffs being escorted through the Avengers Headquarters so calmly. I think Loki will be one of several Big bads, maybe working as a team, maybe against each other and the Avengers... Maybe he will be the big bad with some weird army, but I don't see that.
Maybe I'm wrong, maybe this character will be an awesome big bad but I really think there is more they just haven't shown yet... -
Quote:I have seen the stats of these AT Specific Purples, and aside from a few imbalances in the IOs themselves (Brutes/Tankers/Scrappers/Stalkers get procs that interact with their inherent and what their AT does and the Def/Corruptor sets do, damage!) I don't see a huge power boost in them, they are about on par with a Purple Set, except the set bonuses are actually all good as opposed to a pair of crappy ones.I am hesitant to read too much into this, but unfortunately the cynical side of me is finding it hard not to.
The new AT specific IO sets that were screencapped back during beta can be seen on the auction house market in-game. I'm assuming this is a bug as they are not supposed to be able to be sold or traded, and they are listed as 'Account Bound' and 'Attuned'.
I'd hazard a guess that these will be going live very soon.
The part of this that worries me however, is that you can also now see 'Account Bound' & 'Attuned' versions of all the rarest IO's, PvP IO's and Purples as well.
LotG's, Miracles, Numinas, all the purples, all the PvP IO's..
I hate to jump to conclusions, and I really hope I am wrong, but I don't think I want to be part of a game where all a player has to do is shell out some cash and buy the most powerful builds possible. -

Best moment in the series since the blues brothers homage.

Quote:Isn't this the same Manticore who had no problem pulling a false flag operation, and has once threatened torture on a captive to get information he has wanted? As a great man once said, I'll swallow one porcupine but not two. Manticore's actions judged by the setting's own internal logic display a wanton disregard for human life.
As for the actual arc, it was fun Dillo is cool and needs to replace statesman as leader of the Freedom Phalanx, Grym was pretty cool. Though proton could have used other powersets, he felt like Discount Posi to me.
