Quote:I had to go check this one myself, because it's not even believable they would do that. But they did.The 12th so-called "costume piece" is indeed the pattern, since it shows up in the store separately, but as far as I can tell it can't be used on anything other than the CoT chest/legs, which doesn't sound right at all. If it can be bought separately, it should be usable separately.
I was going to compliment them on a step up from last week, but even though it is still better, they don't deserve a complement. You don't reward a dog for crapping on the hardwood instead of the carpet. -
Just got my response back from support. The answer is we got our Sept supply early, and will not start getting the next points until October. Specifically, they said -
Quote:and then...Thanks for your patience while we researched this issue. Upon further investigation, we found that with the launch of City of Heroes Freedom, game accounts will receive 400 Paragon Points for each month the game account has VIP status. As an existing subscriber, when the Freedom Head Start began, your game account automatically received credit for being active in September, as your first month of having VIP status. For this month you received these bonuses earlier than you usually would have done. You received your September rewards when Head Start began, instead of on your monthly subscription date.
Going forward from October, you will receive your Paragon Points on your game accounts billing date as long as you maintain the VIP status of your game account.
Quote:The Paragon Rewards Program officially starts after Freedom has launched. The earliest you will begin receiving these monthly rewards is in October.
The part about the tokens is strange, though, as it contains no mention of the plan to reward when bulk months are paid for -
Quote:The monthly Paragon Reward Tokens are awarded differently. They follow the same schedule as the old Veteran Reward program. This means you may not receive them on the same date that you receive your monthly VIP Paragon Points. Veteran rewards were calculated based on the time your game account was playable with active paid game time, and not just based on your bill date. Just as a temporary block changed your Veteran Reward dates, these types of changes to your game account will also change the date you receive your monthly VIP Paragon Reward Tokens. You also have to play out the month of game time before receiving the tokens. You may pay for time in advance, but you have to play out the time before you receive your next reward.
You would think they would at least mention that this isn't what is supposed to happen, even if it is technically what is happening right now. Maybe calculating this mysterious "temporary block" is what is causing problems for pre-rewarding multi-month subs. -

At that level, pretty much all a tm/ has is a heal and the -to hit aura. If they're not standing near the enemies, then they clearly don't know how their powers work. The same would have been true of them without you or if they were soloing.
Drop a team like that - fast. -
Quote:********.For as long as I've played this game, I've known that there are two kinds of teams. The first kind are teams where everyone is working together as a team: every member seems to intuitively know what the team needs, and does it. Very little "instruction" seems to happen. The other kind are teams where eight soloers happen to be in the same instance, and if the other seven people disconnected or phased out of the instance it would hardly matter.
No one knows what to do on Keyes "intuitively". No choice is made in that trial based on an understanding of the mechanics of the game coupled with a desired outcome. First off, this is because so much of the trial ignores the core mechanics of the game, and secondly, because nothing about the trial makes the desired outcome clear. Those are the required starting points for "intuitively" working together, and both are missing in Keyes. -
Quote:Better than terrible is not the same thing as good. That's why I'm so astounded by folks who complain about the trials so much. This is significantly better than what's come before.
And during the time period when that was the main method of playing and slotting characters, I did not give them money to allow me to play the game. I would like the game to be more than one step above "not worth my time and money". -
It seems a bit off to think of them as two separate problems, when you just don't get anything on the day you renew.

You can change the launcher to allow multiple copies to run.
Goto File>Settings
Goto Advanced tab
Click checkbox "Allow multiple instances of a game to be launched"
Then it will give you a window whenever you click the play now button asking if you want to open a new one. -
Quote:What aspects are you talking about?I am dissapointed.
The benefits of Tier 9 VIP is way beyond the normal benefits we could have gained from being a Veteran. In the past these were nice to have but they were not unbalancing that much (though sands of MU etc came close) I had been expecting to see a VIP treatment to ALL paying players, not just to those who have been here 7 years.
T9 has exclusive costume pieces, but vets have always gotten exclusive costume pieces. Plus, those can't be unbalancing.
Other than that, T9 gets some recipe slots and some limited use powers. T8 had much better bonuses than T9. Inner Inspiration and the self rez are incredible, but I'm sitting on 2 tokens and not a damn thing in T9 that seems worth it. If you've got some big secret, then please share. -

Does he really not understand that by creating another incarnate currency, he just makes it true that we're forced to grind content. It completely negates any validity behind the idea of "just wait until there are more trials". If new trials = new currency, then there are two grindy bottlenecks instead of one. The could release a hundred more trials, but if they don't share the same currency with the one we have now, it's meaningless.

Modding just one of the 2 gives you 91.8, so depending on how stingy you want to be with points, you might be able to get by with that.
50,50,50 = 99%
50+5,50+5 = 95.9%
50+5,50 = 91.8%
50,50 = 83.3% -

Looks like that "we are currently investigating" email is what they are sending out for this complaint. I got one of those on Thursday, and nothing since.

Quote:Note, it's not "game breaking" in the "too powerful" sense, it was game breaking in the sense that it broke the game. I think one of the things happening was slotted enhancements being eaten randomly - and not just from those three slots. What made three extra enhancement slots "game-breaking"?
I'm not trying to say that they didn't but I would be curious as to what was found..
I would love to see this code, there is some strange stuff going on in there. -

Quote:1 hero merit = 5 random rollsUmm...a hero/villain merit is equal to 50 reward merits, not 100+.
20 merits = 1 random roll
20X5 = 100
Or you can straight out buy a recipe worth 125 or 150 or 175 using a single hero merit. The 50 merit recipes you can't even buy with hero merits, as they are too cheap.
In what way are hero merits worth less than 100 merits? -
The selling point of piercing is the -res. If you plan on running mostly with an alternate animation and therefore losing the -res, it's still up in the air which to take.

Doesn't this not work on pet powers. I thought the HO would need to be theoretically slotable in power the pet is using. I mean, you can slot a damage/whatever HO in a pet, but since the pet resist power doesn't take the damage or any other element of the hami, it doesn't have an effect.
I can, though, imagine the opposite happening - the resist/end HO affecting damage, because the damage power will take the end portion of the HO, so it winds up with the whole thing.
Personally, I just stuck in 3 acc/dam HOs, 2 common IO resists and 1 common end red. Screw the heal. But if you really want to boost heal, you could try a heal/end HO, but I don't think 33% end red would be enough.
Might even boost the common resist to reach ED, but it's probably not worth it. -
For mako's, the best one to enhance is the acc/end/rech (and maybe the 4-way), because all of those are at 66% without enhancement. Using them on any of the IOs that enhance damage is going to be mostly a waste.
It's basically a question of whether you think you need more accuracy, endurance reduction, or recharge on that power. -

Did you actually get the message that you had hit max? I ask because it looks like they stopped self rezzing enemies from dropping tickets after they return. So even running the same farm map, you will end up with significantly fewer tickets.
