I was really bored, and wanted to see how much I could make without selling anything on the market, so I started buying commons for 100 inf and selling them for 250 inf at the vendor. 2 hours later I had purchased an estimated 10,000 pieces of salvage and made about 1.5 million inf.

So yeah, go get your inf.

(I just wish there was some way to see if I show up as a spike on the auction server logs.)
Stuff like this does really make me feel like the market should have an effective floor. More specifically, I'd like the idea of 'thematically' the NPCs buy up the market salvage if it's below the price they'd pay for it as a vendor.

Not that big of a deal either way to be honest, but it would clean the market up a bit.

As a sidenote, no, my point isn't that everything is so bad, we can't do anything about it. It's that there are far worse things that most folks are party to without realizing it.

    [ Edit ]
Just to clarify a bit more, perhaps. Prolly just end up muddling it more. Disassociating with someone because they support/endorse one trade practice, but not when they support/endorse another trade practice [chocolate, electronics] that is a far worse problem [both in scale and from my perspective, in terms of how deplorable the practice is] is a kind of selective rage.

And the treatment of the people used as forced labor to produce inf for them is pretty horrifying. Look it up. Not over-reacting at all.
So, pretty much except for compromising a video game account, the same as the chocolate trade?

Just to clarify something with this remark. Pretty much every industry externalizes some very horrible costs of their products. It is important to realize what you are actually paying for, but at the same time, don't cherry pick which causes bring outrage .
  7. I think it's more the speculation of the increased audience [launch event] that's causing the ad spike.

That and perhaps hopes of trying to cash out while there is still some hope of folks preferring to spend their money on a third party transaction for currency instead of a first party transaction for goods.

Could always implement auto-squelch. It is effective, you just have to have CS be willing to review the instances to catch false positives and abuses.
  8. Personally, I prefer to play Villains. Pragmatically, many of my chars end up playing rogues over content and grouping access. Less incentive now, however, that the WSTs aren't really pursued [a shame, such decent potential there, but oh well].

    [ edit ]
Mechanically, the Alignment merits are a great way to produce funds [perhaps less so now, but time will tell], and potentially a path now to get purples without going batty.

The real problem here is that there is not enough info in the mission to know what to do - you have no way of knowing that killing groups of igneous will add to the timer, so most folks rush to the original exit, which burns up a good chunk of the timer, then if they don't happen to turn in the correct direction when they get the message about the exit not working they can easily miss the cave door, since they are not expecting it on this map. I first did this mission with 2 other very experienced players and none of us figured it out - I had to ask on global channels to find it.

The overall problem here is not that its hard to complete the missions once you know what to do - its that the first experience can easily be very BAD - and thats not a good idea for the first introduction to content the dev's are pushing as a 'bonus' for VIP's and that they want to sell to premium players.
It's bright green, and ... hmm shimmery. Not glowy like a click glowy, but it is a bit glowy. I missed it a few times myself, I blame the oranbega map though. It's very easy to see Oranbega map and assume "Oranbega" map, without realizing that it's slightly different.

I personally find the problem to be more with the blue backdrop. Thankfully that's pretty easy to fix.

Not that I approve much of iContent after the Alpha slot anyway...see sig for answers.
I like Keyes far better than UG on my Bot/Traps... Not really due to mechanics, because they don't bug me too much. But because of the bloody tunnels. Often end up spending most of the trial with no pets out because 24 people + tunnels isn't fun with pets, especially since Desdemona has her legion of pets out all the time [and I usually end up being the one guiding her, stupid fast load time].

I've seen some folks remark on their pets getting confused on AoH and starting to kill leaguemates, but honestly, I don't think that's as big of a deal as folks make it out to be.

But, you also know that I really don't have problems with Keyes , so take that for what it is.

So, say if a player had the retail key to the architect edition, you also feel that they should have full access to AE if they are not a subscriber?

Or a retail box of CoV, which does have MMs as a fairly well advertised feature.

The only real difference is that Incarnate abilities aren't obtainable through any other means, but that is different from a premium subscriber being denied stuff that they purchased. It is possible for a premium subscriber to not have those Reward entitlements, so the issue is the same to me.

"Nope, you bought it a long time ago, but you have to pay for it again now. Or you can buy it indirectly through other market purchases!"

And the issue as to if a specific feature should be obtainable without a subscription is really just a design decision.

Folks fullhealing AoH because they don't realize they're confused bugs me far more than the disintegration fails. And the pulse isn't as annoying to me as the spore infestation [ mostly as I have to load up on BFs/Clarion instead of Greens/Rebirth ].

I don't know. I think now it suffers far more from a case of bad press than anything else.

May just be a case of differing personal opinion, but I really don't like the UG trial [in COX] that much, yet it's getting a very good bit of play time now.

Significantly less common. I want to say Confuse is the least resisted of the control types. And perhaps one of the more frustrating for players to be hit by.

    As a general statement though.

Being gimmicky isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's really the only thing that differentiates a fight from being tank and spank. The issue is often the nature of the gimmick.

My experience with UG has been pretty hit or miss wrt to Hami. Either cascade failure due to confusion [sidenote, hitting Rebirth/Barrier while confused = bad ] or roflstomp when we have enough confuse protection.

That is quite possible, however, I'd still contend that 400 for 10 missions wouldn't be a good value. First Ward may well be on the cheap side of things, but I still think it's a fair point of comparison.

7 parts + finale [I haven't done it, wanting to do it with level approp isn't of exemping, so I don't know if the 'finale' part is a 'full arc' or not to be honest] + the new zone for 600 points.

I can easily see 400 points for the entire series [Who Will Die?]. [edit] It's just odd to see that sort of price disparity in fairly similar content.

I imagine most of them would have a greater problem with the hybrid model itself. And well, if not, there's also the realization that the hybrid model is different from a traditional subscription model.

    That doesn't really work either.

At least alignment missions do force your dialog.

Also, the intro-sides villain side do a bit of proclamations [depending on how strict you want to be with your rule].
  25. Each of the signature story arcs are actually independent arcs. They don't depend on each other mechanically, only in terms of their story.

You should be able to bounce between the sides quite easily, just as note, the rewards would still share the same cooldown.

Also, once the arc is introduced they remain in game, they aren't time limited .
