Not too sure do we even know if it was sent to someone on Primal? I'll admit to just giving a cursory glance, but couldn't it also be potentially a leak to someone in the Resistance?

Quote:Although, it would be a neat, tied benefit.Costume pieces have never had an effect on stats of any kind.
So no, it's not possible.
Unlock this Backpack, get +10 salvage storage.
Add a vanguard backpack costume option to the vanguard sack, etc.
Would be kind of neat imo. -
Quote:Personally, I think people just forget that 'dead zones' are the cost of any game that has progressive content. Especially true when you start introducing new content. You can rebalance the server load usually, resulting in the 'old dead zones' not taking as much resources any more, but really, it's not that big of a deal.So what I'm wondering is if they declared the Banished Pantheon had basically won in DA and just closed off the zone (perhaps moving the badges, monster, and fog effect to some lesser traveled district in another zone to reflect the Pantheon's next front of invasion): Would people actually consider that an acceptable situation or see that as a sign of decline / still to much investment in new stuff?

To be fair, y'know, that's something they can share. I mean, wasn't Positron an energy form for some period of time? Or was that just the not-quite-canon comic?

Quote:Strange, personally, I'm seeing most MMO forums getting more negative.I'm not saying things were ever pure joy and kittens over here, but either this forum has gotten more negative over the years or several other MMO forums have gotten nicer. Entropy would tend to favor the former.
I blame them all having gone to the americans. -
Quote:Ok, different issue then what was thought.I placed the old video card in and everything works fine on the sound again, there has to be something I have to switch or allocate so it works, it shouldn't be a matter of re-routing any connections, maybe for the hdmi to the tv to work with sound, but not for it to work just on my speakers where the output is. When I put in the other video card the new EVGA, it says that there are no playback devices. But when i have the old video card in, they are there clear as day and working, Realtek high definition audio speakers. That makes no sense
What was your old video card? And, RealTek HD, so onboard sound? What motherboard is it? -
I believe oil-based would have similar issues as a water-based powerset.
-
For some reason now, I have the desire to see the Praetorian version of Captain Dynamic and The Great Face.
-
I do like, especially with the methods to achieve the 'look'.
-
Quote:More specifically, depends a lot on the age of the card. However, that card specifically has an hdmi plug, so it's not using DVI->HDMI. ANd it's a 400 series with an hdmi port, so it should pass audio. The problem is, you gotta route audio from the sound card [if it's onboard or a stand-alone] to the video card.As far as I know, a majority of video cards have no sound capability so pluging your HDMI into a computer will have no effect on the sound. Also, you will have to change your video settings when you plug into a TV.
You'd have to look at your card manual to determine where the audio connection is [to be honest, I can't tell by looking at the stock photos of the board]. And also your sound card manual to determine where that connection would be on the board, I believe, it's normally the spdif connector, but I'm not positive. -
Looks neat, haven't had a chance to actually look at it yet [silly thing called Earning a Paycheck! Bah]. Just being encouraging, and hopefully reminding myself to check it out after the Paycheck stuff is done.

Quote:Thank you, saved me quite a bit of effort when it hit me again today. I'm going to pretty much wash my hands of it. I'm not really willing to test my other theory of ISP packet shaping/QoS failing isp-side. I hope it gets fixed though, regardless. It's not. I wrote a Python program that downloads from the site, and it hits the problem. It doesn't do any page parsing, so it doesn't handle anything that's "on" the page, and it definitely doesn't understand Flash. It hits hangups downloading from the main site and the forum, but not the server status XML file.
-
Quote:I dunno, I have a suspicion it may be their flash-headers, but I'm too slack to check the site with lynx... Hmm, although, I guess I prolly should add that to my list of checks if it occurs again. That's interesting new info to me. I wonder if the web infrastructure for the CoH site (and forums) is shared with any of the core NC North America web infrastructure. If it is, it still could be something going on with a shared back-end (perhaps a single server hosting all the site databases). If not, that does point to some sort of network *****. That's somewhat supported by the phone always working, but oddly conflicted with the server status XML feed. It would need to be some sort of return packet screw up only for files above a certain size, or possibly only of certain MIME types. Anything is possible, but man would that be weird.
Edit: The fact that it censors "foo bar" makes it look far worse than it really is. -
Quote:When I have the problem, all the computers that share my internet access can't access. Even my Ubuntu box.Bizarrrrrrrre.
I was hoping it was at least location based: XP, Vista & 7 home machines all cannot get in. Work 7 machine is just fine... I can remote home from work too and verify that it is working at the same time the others aren't.
However, my phone readily gets in.
May be packet-shaping fail on a provider side, but I don't really have much desire to call my neighbors and ask if they can get on the boards. I may try it in the future, but. Blahe.
Quote:I might extend that to all of the cityofheroes.com domain. When I am having issues loading the forums I am also unable to load anything in their website.
Quote:Today, they completely broke the main site. Around the same time, I stopped having any problems accessing the forums. It's been better this afternoon than it's been in weeks.
Currently, the main site is back in service.
I wonder what they did.. It hasn't logged me out surprisingly enough.

Quote:It's about as easy as staying alive as everyone runs from mob to mob.I'd suggest its more complex than that. We know that participation at various stages matter. How does your MM fare in the "gathering the temp powers" stage? I'd imagine that keeping pets out as everyone runs from mob to mob would get messy....
At least for me.
Oh wait. -
Quote:Ya, I was the same way on my MM until I found a nice way to macro Insp -> Pets, now I just autofeed my Big Bot reds and accuracies as they drop, and go from there.I frequently end up not using inspirations on my Mastermind. I've taken to chugging the small inspirations as soon as I see them, and then dropping the medium and large ones in my SG base between missions. The inspiration bins are starting to get full... I'm gonna have to start cutting out the medium ones, soon >.>

Populations, as a whole, have congregated to the Busiest High Level areas. RWZ and RI typically.

Only time I think I'd really like to see 1st person writing was if it had voice acting so it came off as internal exposition like the theatrical cut of Blade Runner.
Although to be honest, it's a pretty minor thing all around to me. -
This already occurs with the Supergroup teleporter actually. And there is a resolution there as well.

Quote:Off hand, Jack's Uber Scrapper Fu and the obfuscation of Animation's impact on power balance come to mind.Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't there been instances in the past where players have insisted that something was wrong or bugged, the Devs kept insisting it wasn't, but in their analysis of the code and data they found something related to the "problem" that really was messed up, and wouldn't have found it if the players hadn't been wrong and brought it to their attention?
I feel like there's been a time or two where this has been the case, but I can't think of specific examples. If I'm right, it would be a good example for not ignoring what the players are saying, wrong or not. The data doesn't lie, but sometimes we're asking the wrong questions about it, or making the wrong conclusions because we don't have all the information and resources the Devs do.

And in general, I think it's important not to dismiss something because it is known to be true. Especially if it persists. But, significant time may not really be necessary. Accuracy nerfs come to mind here greatly. Just run a unit-test after each build to verify that nothing is happening with Accuracy. There are potential timeframes when the dev staff is wrong. And confirmation bias can be a pain, especially if it's a case of obfuscated math in the first place.

Hmm, I thought they did show up in General. Now they usually got flooded out by the other stuff that happened to show up with it and I'd certainly like it getting it's own unique 'channel' [or just shove it in with NPC Chat].
Either case, ya, it'd be nice to improve that.

Hah! Hawk on it. And explained my flawed experience too, bonus. Thanks -
Quote:Or possibly a solution similar to WoW's current method. Threads for the new top tier, shards for the old.If the above is true then it appears that we have been encouraged to repeat the same content over and over again collecting shards for the last two issues for what reason? It's almost like investing time/money into a stock that the seller knows won't be worth much in the future but encourages you to buy it. You also can't resell it or trade it for something else so you're stuck with it.
I think the altitis solves most of the "have enough shards for new powers on day 1" issue.
If someone stockpiles enough shards for the new powers day one I doubt they will stockpile them in copious amounts across all their eligible toons. And if so, they earned it by playing the content, they might as well be able to use it for something useful to them.
Convert all the existing threads to shards, and change the 'old' recipes to use shards, and move on.
Not really too likely with how the progression is setup currently though, but it's a thought. -
My only real irk are the intermediate steps [common and uncommon] salvage points. They're kind of annoying. They made sense with the Alpha/Shards due to them being derived from the content that produced them, but with Threads, it's just 'annoying'.
-
Quote:Which is a fairly sound point. I'd only suggest being aware that there is different intent at play. You're a bit less likely to be going on a respec trial trying to earn a respec token if your build currently is sox roxing. At the point he's referring to, the hero respec was considerably more brutal. The devs actually did tone it down significantly from its original incarnation.
There is a comparable statement that you'll prolly rarely want/need to go on BAF/Lam once you have purpled out those new abilities.
The new abilities are crutches that end up covering other problems, imo. The 'big problem' being communication and situational awareness. Not much can really be done about those two beyond players 'improving themselves'. Kinda harsh, but sad. The other aspect the incarnate abilities crutch over though, is the inbalance amongst powers [when considering the content]. I personally feel that much like pvp serves as a microscope to highlight existing balance problems, raiding should do the same. At the very least, it should tighten the cloud of relative balance in those raids.
Unlike other MMOs with raiding content, there aren't a whole lot of options for raiding encounters, so 'balance over a variety of encounters' doesn't have as much validity. Although it's also a potential solution to other broader balance issues. However in general, it's important that the raids are designed in a way where you 'bring the player' not the class (although that doesn't mean that roles shouldn't be important either.
