  1. Done this on my ill/rad many times, and as others have said its not hard just rather boring as it takes a while. It's not as much about DPS as just tanking their hp regen, you could brawl them to death if you really felt like it as long as you can keep their hp from recovering.
  2. If you need a ranged attack skip spears and just keep hurl boulder, spears still has a bug where it will hit but not damage enemies that are in the air, which seems kind of counterproductive to being a ranged attack. Heck even slotting up your single target hold for damage is better than spears.
  3. At the expense of your wallet the soft cap can be restored with minimal impact overall
and a extra slot for hasten to be perm'ed.
    http://www.cohplanner.com/mids/downl...1ADCBFA290EBF2
  4. I really like ice storm on my plant/earth/ice. I can hold a group drop sleet + ice storm on them and then run and go confuse + kill another group and when I come back the first one usually has very damaged/dead lt's + bosses left. Another thing if you don't like combustion fire breath isn't all that bad, its got a decent cone and does damage overall faster than combustion.
  5. My main issue is that its a spammy damage proc that would be best used in a fast recharging power thats part of your attack chain.

On both my plant/earth, and fire/fire dom's I dont really use the single target hold as much as my regular attacks, so I would have to go out of my way to spam my hold to use this. It almost doesn't make much sense really. Now on a controller you would be spamming the hold/immobs all the time.

If this had damage enhancement I'd chuck it in seismic smash. Also I'd rather have smash/lethal defense than ranged but thats a minor thing.

    Let's speculate!

Personally I don't think Illusion would make a good dominator primary. It just doesn't make any sense when your secondary is all about damage. It works far better for controllers with a buff/debuff secondary.

re: stone mastery, I wouldn't mind getting that version of fissure on my earth assault dom. Why the ancillery power is better than a secondary power is beyond me. I gues the recharge is 20 instead of 16, but gimme that 15 foot radius anyday.
  7. came in here because I thought my mind was playing tricks on me and saw this thread. I've been having dom and hasten become non perma very frequently since the 20.5 patch. I've got 116.5% global acc 186.5% with hasten so its perma as well as dom, and I just zoned from grandville to cap and noticed that both hasten and dom dropped not long after despite not being slowed by anything because I was just standing around for a while.

It was a huge pain doing tip missions as everytime I entered a mission dom seemed to fizzle out despite normally being perma with a double stack for about 20 seconds.

I can't say I know why this is happpening but its become very annoying.
  8. Made a few minor changes to your slotting but left power picks intact as I have no idea how you use them. Got hasten comfortably perm, while maintaining your defense (ok its like 44.96% but I can't imagine in any functional way it's going to matter).

You seemed to have a good bit of purples and I'm a huge fan of glad net on doms, so I didn't feel bad throwing that in there, its not really a expensive pvp set anyway. I'm not sure whats going on with your two travel powers with neither having a +stealth so I left those as is.

Might give you some ideas at least.

  9. You know what I mean, I didn't put any slots in it. I think I jammed a common damage IO in there and called it a day.
  10. Defense cap for a defender is 175%, and even at that mobs with 50 to hit will still have the same 5% chance to you hit as if you had 45% def.

edit before someone gets smarmy: yes I know there are enemies with higher than 50% base to hit.
  11. I skipped it on my plant/earth. I like it but it just doesn't do much damage for that 2.10 activation time. Fissure actually does a tiny bit MORE damage for the same activation, so I just use that for filler if somethings down.

It's got good recharge but that activation is really wonky.
  12. It got kind of wacky with clarion also boosting it, I used to see my powerboosted rebirths going over 2k sometimes, with just power boost it was about 1699ish.
  13. I sometimes think theres a point to the reward rolls. Then I think back to the 8 man lamb I did the other day where 2 or 3 of us including me as a plant/earth dom smacking things all over ended up getting 10 threads/super insp for a reward for a successful completion.

Only time I've ever seen that table.
  14. I dont think its weak, but its also not going to win any awards for being outstanding. It's just simply average. I've got a plant/earth/ice dom thats just about my favorite char to play, but thats more for the plant and ice parts rather than earth assault.

I skipped mud pots and hurl boulder, and didn't put any slots into stone spears because I just dont like it with its long animation and less damage than my weakest mallet skill.

If mud pots had the 15 foot range of hot feet I would adore it, but that 8 foot range just limits it for my uses to supplementing single target damage vs bosses and up.

Tremor either needs a damage buff or a way shorter animation as its either bottom of the barrel, or very close as far as dom pbaoes go. If I didn't need it as a oblit set mule I would probably skip that as well. Fissure could use a bump to 15 foot, but its pretty good as it is.

I think when you consider the mitigation it provides in knockdowns/ups/stuns/holds it ups the value a bit, but if your wanting a set for pure damage/dps this probably isn't it.
  15. Yeah force feedback proc is currently on my 'not sure about it' list. It does trigger relatively often, on the other hand fissure is the only power I've got that I can stick that in thats an aoe and doesn't need all 6 slots for 1 set. Being 10 foot guys have to be fairly clumped.

Anyway I hit 50 and finished IO'ing and thought I would post a follow up. Changed the epic to ice for sleet/ice storm insanity and it turned out to be a good choice. 45% smash/lethal and perma hasten/dom makes for a pretty sturdy back end.

I went into this combo having a vague idea of plant, I played a plant/fire to about 16ish a few years back, but never really got into it. Decided to revisit plant and pick a secondary I didn't know a thing about, and it worked out pretty good. Ton's of aoe and very nice single target damage as well.

Haven't decided on a alpha yet, still need to play a bit more to see what needs shoring up.
  16. Been running up my plant/earth dom lately and I enjoy it well enough so I've been planning a level 50 IO build.. and its tricky to say the least. I spend all of my time in melee and thats fine with me, seeds + roots + knockdown keeps me fairly safe.

Anyway to not make a long story longer my focus is on S/L def and recharge. I'm willing to skimp under the S/L cap if it means ganking more recharge, but I'd prefer a good balance.

build I'm toying with (definitely not tied to the APP, so open to ideas there too):

Really unsure about the end usage, and it could be a issue. I could switch to cardiac, but that would mean I would have to find a slot somewhere for hasten to be perm. Could be overkill on the force feedbacks as well, I've never used them but from the numbers the proc chance seemed low.

Strangler and Vines may seem underslotted, but I find I don't use them much other than when I'm caught off guard just to stall a mob momentarily.

Didn't take spirit tree as I couldn't really fit it and I had other powers of higher priority.

Pretty open to any better ideas, I've never played a dom before so this is all a leaning experience.
  17. Just got my illusion/rad to 50 and was mulling over a couple builds. Pretty standard fare with a few personal changes but nothing drastic. More importantly I'd rather hear opinons on weather not-quite-softcap defense vs. resistance shield would be more survivable, as thats the biggest difference between these.

    anyway:

The ice epic has the bonus of not taking any filler powers and fitting 5 gambler 7.5% rech, wheras my fire build I took a mule from concealment to house one, while the build overall has I think 4. I'm also more accustomed to making builds for melee chars so If something could be done better/looks weird lemme know. Finally I debated stone epic as well, because earths embrace sounded tempting, but I would really miss the blast.
  18. I have a 5770 and experience the same exact blocky corruption on the log in screen only (and its only if I go BACK to it, at first load its fine).

So I wouldn't worry to much about it, as I've never seen it happen ingame.
