  1. Yeah, sorry, not thinking clearly as I am about to head off to bed...armageddon is the PBAoE and Apoc is ranged

    You'll get some boost for damage from Musculature...however, if you take agility you will be closer to softcapping E/N/F/C and for survivability this is what you want...be hit less. Ultimately it's up to you...though...Barrier Core tier 4 would also help alleviate whatever you might be short from not taking agility though too.

    Pyronic is great...fire is good. Go Core if you want max damage...radial effects I often find to be superfluous unless you want some kind of mild entertainment from knockback or whatever the effect is. I forgot to mention Ion earlier for judgement, that one does good damage as well.

    Barrier is awesome...I would like to point out...t4 Core Barrier + t4 Core Cimerorans = Win.

  2. Titan weapons/Regen would be good too...TW loves end and Regen has tons to give...

    Oh and I hear claws isn't bad with Regen either, since I played one to 50 and was my main for a long time.
  3. Ok, your build looks pretty good, I don't have mids up, but I can see that your S/L Def should be at softcap, how's E/N? with invuln you should be able to softcap S/L/E/N pretty handily. For more damage move the Apoc set to spin, and swap the slots, spin is a monster AoE and a great part of your attack chain...try to get to where you can run Follow Up/Spin/Eviscerate repeat....that is about your highest DPS chain from claws. Also, I eventually dropped unstoppable as I never use it and the crash is nasty.

    Incarnate suggestions:
    Alpha: Agility, I used it on my DM/INV...it boosts end recovery, recharge and defense in that order, all things that are extremely useful to an invuln and claws likes recharge (more spin = more damage)

    Interface: Many choices, reactive is good for solo, but so many take it that it will cap quickly on teams. I took preemptive for the damage and -recovery proc. always take the larger damage on radial side with melee toons.

    Judgement: Again options, void and pyronic are great for pure damage and vorpal is great for the radial side defense boost.

    Lore: War Works or Cimerorans are the 2 highest DPS

    Destiny: I took Barrier for added survivability, but rebirth is good for a heal, if you go that route take radial the regen is better. You could go ageless for the recharge but I personally do not think you need it.

    Actually dark armor allows you to see your costume, turn off fade/pulse in the color window as you set up the tint of the powers.

    Fire Aura, WP, Regen, Shield, SR, Invuln, Electric Armor, all allow you to see your costume.

    Actually EA is the only one I think besides stone that covers it unless I am totally missing something. (which is quite possible)
  5. Here's what I think:

    Shield adds Damage to your secondary (with a click AoE damage power) and gives you high Defenses and mild resists, also offers some Defense Debuff Resists which can be handy, but needs a heal, so Dark Melee is a good pairing. It's end heavy early until you get it well slotted.

    Dark Armor has a lot of tools, like a Damage Aura which will bump your DPS, and has very high resists to most everything especially psionic. It's end heavy though, and requires very good slotting.

    Invulnerability is an excellent set and is probably the original idea of a tank in the truest sense. It has great resists and is easy to build defense up for typed defense. It has high HP and only has one hole psionics. Which is true of many sets.

    Fire Aura is a beast for damage, and has above average resists to many things, Fire resists will be easily capped. If you build it softcapped to typed defenses it will be a good damage dealer and a good tank.

    Super Reflexes is the original defense set, it has the highest Defense Debuff resists, it easily softcaps all positions and it handles most things very well. It has almost no resists and is end intensive until you get it slotted out properly (i.e. early until about the mid 30's). It does not have a heal, so something like Dark Melee pairs well with it since you don't have to chase aid self out of the pool powers which costs 2 power slots to get.

    Pick something you think you'd like to play...

    I, personally, totally agree with you here...I have a Katana/Dark Brute...Softcapped to all positions with 1 Divine Avalanche, and he is an absolute beast to play...tons of fun, and tough.

    Regen would be my other favorite I have 3 of those...I would have more but you can't get regen on anything but a melee toon...

    Highlights:

    (1) With Agility Alpha I am 57% S/L Def 62% Energy 51% Neg Def and 52% F/C Def

    (2) Hasten is 5 seconds from permanent

    (3) 38% S/L Resists

    (4) 2.1 net end recovery after all toggles

    (5) 116 Max End (because TW loves endurance)

    (6) 136% Global Recharge

  10. Use shadow maul in my aoe chainnot my St chain except an occasional filler on a hard target. Line it up and it will wipe out mobs. It is a useful tool. But not something I would use on a LT or minion unless there was a no.
  11. My dm/invulnerable brute is a beast. He is softcapped to s/l/e/n and f/c is not far behind my resistances are incredible my HP are nearly capped and my single target damage is good. I also have a heal that adds Max HP and another in my attack chain that heals me every 10 seconds or so and does great damage. Plus soul drain is the best self buff in the game. Take superior conditioning for more end or soul patron for gloom and roll with it.

    Fm/Inv critique

    You can do your planned build, but you'll be sucking wind pretty quick. Aim for 2.00 net end recovery, and that should give you a few minutes of sustained fighting with no end management tools. You'll be in a situation where in AV fights etc, you will be eating blues to keep going.

  14. I say yes to some... here is what I think and why...

    t4 Alpha is the most necessary in my mind as it usually is either (A) all the things you want at higher levels than t3 or (B) the highest of the main thing you are looking for with the other buffs being wholly included in that specific tier power.

    Next, I think depends on what you are playing...

    t4 Destiny is probably my strong second most important and Interface likely my weak second choice...here's why:

    Destiny powers become permanent at t4 and duration/radius/effect are usually boosted all together or some and not others. t4 rebirth destiny on my regen is virtually worth a pile of platinum. But on other toons, where I run barrier, it is as needed.

    I say interface weak second because if you are a melee or ranged damage toon, Interface is free DoT + effect or a pure 100% chance mitigation tool that does not burn endurance. That can make or break certain scenarios and will boost your DPS...a "free" boost to DPS is never a bad thing in damage dealing toons. Period.

    My Strong 3 would easily be Lore, as it strengthens your pets, they do more damage and take more damage better. That is always good for DPS and survivability in general...(t4 barrier + t4 Cimerorans = win)

    My weak 3 would likely be judgement, because this is a pretty good O-S panic button, and allows ANY toon, a no crash PBAoE or ranged nuke. That can be a very crucial thing if you're in a tight spot, and in general adds one more AoE to any toon that may have otherwise been weak on AoE's. Some even offer mitigation...I took a Void judgement with KB on one toon to try it out, and it was something hilarious to see on my melee toon to watch my "finishing move" for the spawn throw bodies 20' in all directions, but I could see where a squishy toon would be well allowed for a chance to split and recoup if overwhelmed. Vorpal also is a good example as the radial side of Vorpal gives a brief +Def that might just keep your backside out of harm's way...
  15. Try this on for size, makes shadow maul an attack again...and it should also keep your defense up and it adds end recovery which you will appreciate...a lot...

    DM/FA brute help

    Slotting Soul Drain, consume and dark consumption for damage is what I do, and I like the fact that I am buffing and damaging at the same time, plus the AoE on Soul Drain is large...

    Gloom should be slotted for Damage, but to each their own, I don't often use Gloom....

    Steal a slot from Manuevers and use it on weave with a LotG Def and change the triple to a Def/End and swap manuevers with hasten there with 1 recharge IO boosted to 50+5. You don't need the LotG triple on a toggle the recharge is worthless.

    I use Shadow Maul in my AoE chain, and as a filler when needed in my ST chain. Shadow Maul gives good DPS in mobs, it is an average power on ST, most people don't like being rooted for 3 sec to get it off. To each their own...but it is nice when you hit about 5 or 6 or more enemies with it lined up right.

    I agree with the KB protection being 8 that's what I run on my Dark Armor and Fire Aura toons, you can do 12 but not less than 8. EB's and AV's will still knock you around, but anything less will be fine.

    I would personally slot Temp Protection better, because why choose Fire Aura to not be nearly impervious to Fire, but you can do as you like with your build.

    Fm/Inv critique

    Unless you actually use Unstoppable, I would keep Hasten and ditch Unstoppable. I used it as an Aegis mule for a Psi resists unique for a while before I finally respec'ed out of it on my build as my DM/INV brute hasn't needed unstoppable and it's nasty crash since I hit level 50 and got slotted.

SS wins because of Perma Rage, and it's easy to do that as well...best DPS chain ST for SS will be Jab/Punch/Jab/Haymaker/Jab/Punch/Jab without Gloom, haven't bothered with Gloom on my build, but I would assume, based on recharge and rough DPS, that with Gloom it would be something like this:

    Jab/Gloom/Jab/Punch/Jab/Haymaker/Jab/Gloom...this may be slightly off though, as I am doing this based on rough math off the cuff...

  20. This is what I did, see what you think for some suggestions...granted mine's a brute, but lots of it should translate.

    -E- Ha, nevermind, I just noticed your build is a brute also...this should ALL work...I haven't bothered to work in a Brute set yet, but at some point I will get around to it, as I already have several pieces of it.

    I just looked at it, and I put the Superior Brute set in Rend Armor, using all 6 slots.

  21. Just a thought, instead of tactics, try focused accuracy, it's end heavy, but will make a big difference in your to-hit numbers...and you already have the epic pool for it...
  22. This little project intrigues me, and I have no vested interest in either side of the argument, I will join in when I get the chance. I am not terribly familiar with blasters, so anyone want to throw out some suggestions for powersets on a blaster and stalker? Something mid-range...if we were talking scrappers, brutes, or controllers I'd have a much better idea of what to use...
  23. Here is my scrapper build, granted not all of it will translate, but it will give you some ideas. With accolades and DP running my HP are capped, and I can cap regen if I want to use IH and Rebirth at the same time...(extremely sticky situations may call for it but not many...)
