  1. I'm making a Fortunata and having trouble picking the last 3 powers (44, 47, and 49). Can anyone advise as to which is best? I will always team with others so the build is a little team-oriented and also AoE-oriented. These are the options:

Maneuvers, Aim, Tactical Training: Assault, Tactical Training: Leadership, and a PPP AoE Immob (likely Mako's Immob)

Note: Only reason why I would get Maneuvers is to increase Ranged/AoE defense from 33% to 38% (goal isn't necessarily to soft-cap everything, yet) and to increase teammates defense.

I was considering Aim, PPP AoE Immob, and one of the tactical trainings/maneuvers, but I'm not sure if that's the best. Thoughts? What's better: +to hit or +dam in terms of the tactical trainings? Thanks
  2. Thanks Fury for the changes. I really appreciate it!
  3. So my scrapper took a hit from the BotZ nerf and had to pretty much change most of the build. I've already done a search on the boards and got a relatively good template from someone else's build, but I made quite a few changes to fit my needs. I tried to get high recharge, with other stats being reasonable (Acc, end rec./use), but this is my first IO'd scrapper so I'm not very good at this. Is there anything that I'm missing or that could be improved? I'm pretty set on the power choices/APP so I would appreciate any input about slotting. This guy will mostly be a farmer or doing endgame stuff (STF, ITF, etc.)

Also, no purples or PvP IO's as I want to make this affordable. Thanks.

  4. I find GW pretty darn fast to be able to land multiple successive hits (melee). If you have an earth troller, you can use Quicksand to slow her down as she's trying to catch up to the taunting tank (anything ranged with slow might work too). Gang up on her then, but still gotta be careful since it's possible that she'll just turn around and heal off of you if the tank loses aggro.
  5. Thanks guys! I will try that out then
  6. I have a lvl 50 toon and Maria keeps referring me to other people in RWZ. The first time, she kept referring me to Levantera so I completed her arc, which was fine because it was unfinished. But after that, Maria still wouldn't talk to me and then referred me to Serpent Drummer so I completed his arc (even though I never talked to him before). Now she STILL won't talk to me and is now referring me to Gaussian so I got to do his arc too.

I know that I have to complete any unfinished arcs with contacts who have books next their picture, but I don't understand why Maria is making me complete missions for contacts who I didn't talk to yet or opened an arc/book for them (i.e. Serpent Drummer and Gaussian). Is this normal? Am I supposed to complete all the contacts in RWZ before moving onto Maria? I'd appreciate any input. Thanks.

whoa..i didn't know we get 6 free transfers per week O_o
  8. thanks guys. I really appreciate it
  9. Hi guys, I've pretty much used up all of character slots on the Freedom server and need to choose another server to make more toons. I was just wondering if anyone knew how populated the other servers were (not sure if this info is even available) or if one server typically attracts a certain kinds of players (RP'ers for example). I was hoping I could hop onto a populated server. The more the better I always say. Thanks
  10. I was looking at the Acc values for ice storm/blizzard/sleet and they all seem pretty high all on their own with no Acc slotting. Is there any reason to still slot them with Acc (maybe just 1?) or should I not bother and go for damage/recharge/slow?
  11. thanks for the input guys. I'll probably go with shocking bolt or assault based on your comments (i already plan on getting surge of power as well)

  12. So I have a Sonic/MM (play only on teams) and decided to pick up electrical mastery. I was wondering just how good is EM Pulse? Is it different from the EM Pulse from the radiation emission set (the one controllers and defenders have)?

Also, can the disorient from EM Pulse stack with Dreadful Wail's stun? I wouldn't be able to give EM pulse more than 4 slots so would it be worth it? I have a choice of either getting EM Pulse, Siren's Song, Shocking Bolt, or Assault. Thoughts?

You need to install the newest version of Mids and start a whole new build

Part of it is just the character models - if there was an alternate Robot theme where they looked more like the Clockwork mechano-skeletons, then I could see it.
You could make it a "welder" theme. Welding/healing the robots back to health makes some sense.

    Pain or Thermal

I've been meaning to make a Bots MM with one of the healing secondaries, but I can't decide which one I would want. Is there an advantage for taking one over the other, in regards to MMs? I'm pretty familiar with Thermal and and I don't mind waiting for it to be released in the new issue, but I've never tried Pain before so I have no idea how it would go with Bots or MMs. Thoughts?
  16. Here's mine, which only has some of the lockdown IO's, but it's also less expensive. I'll have to admit that it's not the most effective build, but it is the most fun for me.

  17. You really should be getting fossilize instead of stone prison and you *definitely* should be getting Stalagmites as well.

As for Thermal, it depends on what you want to do. Generally, everything except for Power of the Pheonix and Thaw are essential. If you don't want to buff, then don't get the shields, but they're pretty important. It's not a very tight build. I was able to fit in everything from both sets except for stone prison, salt crystals and thaw.
  18. Roll an Earth/Storm troller or even an Earth/Thermal. Fancy graphics

  20. I have a level 50 kin/elec defender and was considering re-making/deleting him (eventually) as a elec/kin corruptor so that I can dish out the extra damage without having to rely on FS. However, I checked and compared the numbers between the two AT's on Mids and the difference between the two doesn't seem very significant at all. Most of the time, the attacks just differed by 10 points of damage (or so). Is Electrical blast really that weak as a blaster/corruptor or am I getting the numbers wrong? Is there really any incentive to remake him as a corruptor?
  21. Go /storm. Paired with earth, you'll be a force to be reckoned with.

Edit: Something I forgot to mention. Because you have the AoE immobilize, you can use tornado without worrying about the knockback that it usually causes. And if you check on Mids, the damage that tornado inflicts is just amazing. I could be wrong, but it's at least 400 unenhanced and could be brought up to 800 with enhancements (if I'm wrong, anyone feel free to correct me).
  22. This will be my first CoV character (been at CoH for a while) and the Electric Melee set looked like a lot of fun. I like the thematic synergy of Electric Armor, but I kinda want an AoE monter (Shield Charge).

I was just wondering how are the two armors in comparison to one another? After browsing through the guides and forums, I'm familiar with the pros and cons of Electric Armor, but I couldn't find much for Shield Defense. Which has better survivability? What about for best synergy between the two powersets? I'd appreciate any input!

Sidenote: I'm not going to IO out this build so assume I'll just use single origin invention enhancements (or whatever they're called)
  23. Personally, I don't encounter them very often at all. I might be just looking in the wrong places >_>

    Kin/Elec

My Kin/Elec is approaching lvl 49 and I don't know whether I should get Voltaic Sentinel or Repel. I've taken every other power that I have wanted (and didn't really need) so these two powers are the only two options left. Does FS affect Voltaic Sentinel's damage? Is the extra damage that Voltaic Sentinel dishes out worth it, or is it just an (unwanted) aggro magnet.

I'm almost always right there next to the tank fighting without getting a scratch but if things ever went wrong for me or for another squishy, I could see how repel would be useful (although if things started going wrong, I would just fly away). Any thoughts?
