Well here's my view,
My Rad has this power and I wanted to play with a little bit of slotting. We have a regualr team and a quiet suicidal and aggro friendly Blaster & PB which fuels this power on a semi regular basis. In PvE with it slotted using the dead ally as to buff vengance off of then to fire off the nuke if you can train people to drop in the middle of a horde of NPC's it can really smash a big hole in them.
As said on a number of occasions it is very situational, so if you can spare having a rarely used power then please pick it up, if you have vengance I think it couples with this even more and gives it mroe justice to take.
PvP - well i've used it a couple of times to some use in SC including getting a fast vengance to nuke while several stalkers pick off the empath.. It's quiet a sight to see it hit over players and the debuff's/damage it can do. Very tough to get a hit in and for it to be effective but hilarious if it does
Well theres my mad ramblings about it! -

Clicking Hasten and Accelerate Metabolism at same time makes them almost perma (maybe really perma with some IO sets).
Could I avoid Fitness pool with A.M. always on? Maybe with A.M. and some APP power?

WEll it depends how you play it imo. My little rad sonic which is slowly going up the lvls has no stamina, however I play it almost purely support with only the single cone attack (that I use) taken at early lvls but probably being respect out later.
By slotting very heavily on the end reds you can manage on AM. But I could imagine that if you plan on throwing in alot of blasts and getting the most from your sonic attacks that stamina would be needed, but if your happy to sacrifice a few slots to reduce the end cost of attacks it is achievable imo. -
Sonic/Cold is great, Ive seen Sero's toon in force and been teaming/against several times.
As an opponenet, obviously Snow Storm is a pain in arena but the real killer is infrigdate, beign hit by that with good slotting and your own attack chain is thrown out of the window.. Goign for the AoE web is simply a nice stacker and the -jump will keep them routed to about a 2foot by 2foot patch as you skirt around them blasting to pieces...
I'd advise hunting regen scrappers in Warburg for a bit of fun with a build like that -

Instead of invisibilty, get TP. So that way if your attacked or somehting, you can tp away, and they don't know whihc direction. I persoanlly have fly as my travel power, but having both could be rad. with fly too, i could get some cool mid air battles, like, battling in the sky, tp behind them, use range attack, poss immob too, tp back and kill... or something
[/ QUOTE ]
Fly/TP combo is good as said above, but do be aware that catching mvoing targets with tp is a real nightmare, also mid air battles using tp will get very confusing for you as you have no control on the distance tp'd except the straight maximum range...
But then trying different stalking techniques is always good.. Personally SS with Hurdle/CJ is my stalking point of choice.. no vertical.. but hey I'll chase anything on the floor -

My final thought.. Stalkers underpowered.. Hell no. I have played my MA/SR in all kinds of zones and even when against a Blaster/Emp combo I scored alot more kills then they managed it's all timing and LOS. When I'm seen it makes the whole PvP alot more fun.

Must be a very bad empath and blaster then...

Thanks for the vote of confidance Psy
It was two pairs of this combo in SC that i played around with once with my duo stlaker buddy. At the end of it they wern't getting the kills as we could burst through the emp's healing.
Also using placiate at the right time and blocking shots by corners is what we did which ended up us earning alot of kills.. Waiting for a blaster to run at u then hit BU & Aim then u placiate before he gets to melee can annoy them a fair bit
Blaster/Emp combos r good but not invicible imo
it's the whole thing with getting used to fighting with being seen it takes a while to get right on stlakers but can be very very effective -
Prob to go with Dark I'd say Black Scorpion. The AoE web attack will drop fliers and as you said adding tar patch in there then spaming your fears and sonic attacks will be a winner
The power sink would be handy but as you have no other drain pwoers just careful slotting would be better to make sure you have no end issues. -
Well back on the original post side,
I'd just like to say that alot of stalkers I see leave zones after realising they can be detected. This mind set is slowly going and imo you will see alot of good stalker players not worried at all if they can be seen or not, the full reliance on Assasin strike that some stalkers have i think is a bad way to play.
If you only rely on being hidden and Assasin Striking anything that can force you away, see through hide, or interupt you will ruin any PvP chances you have.
Now using your stalker as a simple hit and run burst damage attacker is an alternative, even if your seen you should fire off one crit ont he target of your choice before your taunted or attacked. Alternatively don't forget that stalkers secondries can be beefed up and made to take a hell of alot of punishment.
your build may need to loose the odd attack or even some pool powers but this route is always avalible.

Yep good advice above..
i think at lower levels try sticking to your ST attacks (Eye beam attack) and debuffing opponenets in teams. Your probabaly getting lots of debt as either - Irradiate is getting u terrible aggro or your anchors arn't well palced and debuffing enough of the NPC's.
try keep to the brutes targets and debuffing auras aroudn him. When you do drop Irradiate in team play make sure your opponenets are so well debuffed when the aggro is thrown your way you'll survive.
Rad/Rad is a great combo and at higher levels you can unleash the big dam attacks till then i'd say reign it in a bit and you'll be fine -
Well although all the emp powers are great you could look at a few things that could be dropped. I'd advise you to go for either Absorb Pain or Heal Other as it's always handy to ahve the ability to help out whomever is alphaering on the team a little bit as you said your not a dedicated healer one of the two would be good dropping the other.
If your going to run the risk of getting alot of aggro then leaving out AB in favour of heal other would be good. I think for the sort of toon your going for you 'can' miss out Clear Mind and even potentially fortitude.
If your going to be commited to your main powers and holding back the damage/holds then keeping up these buffs on larger teams may casue problems in your attack chain and imo can be skipped
(before a shout is made this in no way is a comment undervalueing there usefulness)
both the auras will be great as a self buff and for the team around you and due to the long recharge they shouldn't effect your main mind duties as activation of these will be low.
AB is a great buff and once again will not need to be applied on as frequent a basis as fort/CM.
So overall if you had to squeeze out soem powers from your secondry to do the job you want I'd say:
CM
Fort
Heal Other/ Absorb Pain (One of)
but hey thats just my thoughts -
ahh vpp i'd prob say EM then..
but I've always thought doing Lightning Rod to Burn in a pvp mob has got to look quiet nice -

Yep sounds good..
But not wanting to be a prophet of doom and gloom I don't think rare recipies or salvage would be palced there. Maybe common place IO Recipies.
As it would be too easy to farm this and open to abuse sadly. SO's as rewards can still be bought so maybe some common IO's would be a nice option alongside the SO's?
[/ QUOTE ]
Well I hope there would be some place to get rare salvage as its more valuable than recipes atm and you can choose recipes as TF rewards but not salvage..
I agree that Sirens would be little bit too farmable.. But it should retain good rewards still.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yep Hammer entirely agree, would be a shame to see the bounty system devalue with i9 and draw less people to the zones. Having a bigger variety of choices might be soemthing for them to look into. Mayb offering the temp powers on a usage basis from SC shop into the bounty system would be a nice idea? -

Also a nice little PvP tool on placiate..
It's great to up your damage output but alos it's great as a good back up to through off your opponent in a fight. In particular it's worth holding on to and activating when you see your opponent go through a BU animation.
As the animation is firing placiate and skirt your opponent for 5-10 seconds.. with your opponents BU wasted reingage and it saves you alot of trouble -

One thing though that i was unhappy about was placing one enforcer on Aggresive mode with all the Tactics buffs still won't make him attack an invs'd target even if the 'powers' say he can see them.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is an interesting note. Its something I've wanted clarified for some time now, but haven't had the chance to experiment.
On a PvE map, you can set your Enforcers on Aggressive and they'll just attack any hostiles in ranged, even if they were stealthed. However, once I did this same thing on a PvP map with two stalkers and although I won the fights, I remember the Enforcers not attacking the Stalkers, even when they were well in-range. Maybe I had them on Bodyguard Mode at the time. I need to go and figure this out properly.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yep, i tried it with a friend and they don't seem to attack until you can see the stalker.. however if you pace them on attack after that your pets will not stop chasing the stlaker until the pets are dead or the stalker is
shame in Aggrisve mode they don't attack them or at least not from my trials yet -

BG mode?
[/ QUOTE ]
Bodyguard mode = having your pets near and in "follow defensive"-mode. This will make any damage dealt to the MM himself being divided between MM and the henchmen. 2 points for MM, 1 point per each henchman in range.
[/ QUOTE ]
Good lord!! I didn't know thatGreat stuff!
[/ QUOTE ]
Yep this has been THE change for MM's in PvP really.. If you sit there with all epts like that and a blaster hits you once.. you normally find a balster running for his life and on low HP when the pets all go for him from a Sirens Call & Thugs MM's experiance here.
One thing though that i was unhappy about was placing one enforcer on Aggresive mode with all the Tactics buffs still won't make him attack an invs'd target even if the 'powers' say he can see them.
I tried it out in WB or am i getting it wrong here? Then u could even be on Stalker/Illusionist watch with thugs -
Yep, PvP prior to Body Guard mode was really tough for MM's with them being continually singled out and smashed down with burst damage.
Now with BG mode you can hold your ground as good as most tanks if your team are about..
I find MM's now give a real good team support to a villian tema that holds it's ground, but sadly on the move it's still a bit tough -
Ok on the back of this many may be aware that another channel called Defiant Auctions is also open and I was potentially wrongly told it was to 'replace' this cahnnel.
If we do have two defiant auction channels can we consolidate them to one.. but which one is has higher members numbers atm?
any input from both channel creators would be great -
Ok, although not a Union player from the beginning i have a few that toddle about there. But as for Ice/Storm, I love the combo. Has been the best controller combo I've played so far.
Now the damage is light until alter on but as a team player I found that this controller had compelte lock down that I couldn't find in some other sets!
Ice slick at the level it's picked up is just great, coupled with low levels of snow storm you ahve your perfect control from that level onwards. It leaves the rest of the team the task of 'shooting fish in a barrel'. This alone tops alot for me but then you can chcuk freezing rain onto it and drop the mobs in record time.
Later on the toys of AoE holds, Thunder Clap jack, Lightning storm all add to the lock down with defensive measures of hurricane, steamy mist & Arctic air i think it's one of the most enjoyable sets to team with PvE.
Also having said that my troller frequents the PvP zones and doesn't doo too bad there. For me I think Ice/Storm is a great combo and worth trying -
as Per Hammer above it's good. tbh with Total Focus u see the animation building up and you have a second or so to react.. now this could be a number of things depending on the situation really.
As above pop a BF if you can take the hit and carry on fighting.
Quickly eat a couple of greens if you want to fight on and you think it may down you.
Throw a quick animation attack out to down them if there on low HP. Elec Melle has a few punchs that woudl do good too.
If the main reason Total Focus is hurting so bad is because your opponent is BU & Aiming before he lets fly just keep wary of his BU animation.. As soon as you see it keep some distance and mvoe away fro a few seconds not rooting yourself.. this will waste it's full use and give you a better chance
Hope my rantings are a help but it's no pro advice -

But from my 2 yrs here I havn't yet teamed with a german person (Unless unbeknown to me) on the server
[/ QUOTE ]Well, most of us don't enter a team saying "Heya mates, I'm german lol", but believe me, we're already invading the english servers undercover.
[/ QUOTE ]
hehehe Cryo, indeed. I meant that more that during my play time here I meet people from all different nationalities and palces but I just hadn't met anyone form germeny during that i was aware of. no offence meant from it
Hope your not 'invading' in the form of our pvp zones quiet yet hehhe
If you are though!! Yay we need more ppl about in them! -
I think Ice/Storm are a very good mix together and it really depends on how u want your troller to play.
I tneded to have a simple killing area wher I would lay Ice Slick, Slap Snow Storm on a boss to keep them all in the middle then drop freezing rain on them for -def and let my team destroy what was there.
With that I found Thunder Clap and the AoE Hold (Not sleep which is flash freeze) very useful if the mobs wern't wiped quickly. Having said that in that kind of build tornado or the AoE Imob would have ruined my playstyle but are still great powers.
O2 boost imo is a gr8 team orientated power. It removes stun so can be doubled for when people use wakies or if a squishy has no mez. Hurricane amazing debuff and can give you some breathing room. Infact even arctic air is a great power. which i used a fair bit on the climb to 50 (But defo needs 3 end red slotting).
Of all the trollers I have played this one really locks them down and keeps them there with the combo I explained above.
But however you plan to play it have fun.
At the end of my ramble I'd say avoid Flash Freeze and i would say Gale but your forced to take it -
Please let me know the outcome of this.. Looks like a hilarious thing to do and good luck..
Think u guys may need it -
Well from a gmae mechanics perspective I think changing the size of your toon doesn't make a differeance but I may be wrong.
From what I can tell the tallest/smallest people still take up the smae space for LOS and need the same size objects to get behind to break it.
Now for PvP size is a preferance.. I have found that when there are lots and lots of targets about trying to clicky on a smaller target can be a pain.. havign said that bigger targets can obscure how u want to clicky smaller ones too. So with that being said it can play a small part to the PvP.
but all in all it's about how u like your toon to look and what it puts across I have toons large and small
Ps. Assasin strike to the shin FTW! -
Ws much fun, and I hope this is a little pointer that the TF can have some success without the ideally laid out teams.
Although I will say it was a definate struggle with us pulling out all kinds of stops and choosing targets well it was a very satisfying TF to finish with the team of 6.
At one point we thought we might finish it as a pentad but after reducing LR to 10% HP and seeing all the lvl 54 bosses spawn our dmaage jsut couldn't down him before we were overrun.
Another fun bash for the Echelon even if it was a long one. Bed's calling now!
Also GW's Melee heal is a right pain -
There may well be Adlermann, Might be worth posting on the german boards too.
But from my 2 yrs here I havn't yet teamed with a german person (Unless unbeknown to me) on the server
