Does size matter?

Being new to this awesome game i was wondering if size matters when it comes to issues like steath and detection for stalkers.

Not really. The dectection issues are based on Perception, Stealth and Range.

Its been discused here and has a few pretty numbers involved with it.

Your hieght and build my help or hinder you in breaking line of sight in PvP zones, but in PvE it makes no diffrence as far as stealth and perception goes anyway.

Also, welcome to the game

I make all my chars 4ft tall for a few reasons.

1. It's funny
2. You get lots of 'awww cute'
3. Helps hiding in small spaces, or getting through things like pipes in sewers.
4. It's funny when you punch mobs in the groin.
5. It's funny when you get those really tall council members, you attack their kneecaps!
6. It's funny!

It wont affect how ppl see you, but it might just help when you can hide behind that crate to break Line Of Sight, that and you just feel a bit stealthier. It just me?

Heard that theory before as well.
If you like 4ft toons hows this for a story. My hero SG only takes 4ft toons and had a shivan trip to bloody bay with a team of about 5. As soon as I get off the helicopter I see a sneaky stalker hiding near the base. So I webnade and caltrop him and then my 4ft friends jump in. He looses then says "lol" in broadcast. I didnt think it was funny until I thought how odd it must look from his perspective seeing a load of 4ft oddballs leap off the helicopter and rush straight after him :O)

I would have loved to have seen that too! A whole SG full of shorties? What server and on which side!! sounds hilarious!

Also i found another reason for making shorties, especially brutes; Short Angry Man syndrome. Its when short men overcompensate by being overly aggressive. Running round and bashin peoples heads in repeatedly sound familiar to anyone?

There's one worse, Short Angry Ginger Man syndrome... where also being ginger is too much to handle. It happens, no joke!

~edit~
not to be confused with Short Angry Gingerbread Men...

My point's already been said, but here it is from the flip side since I just can't bring myself to make a dwarf:
I made a corrupter that's a big as possible. The only way I could make him bigger would be to put a top hat on him. When people say size doesn't matter, they haven't teamed with a giant toon on a board that gets narrow, like the Tsoo tunnels or something. "Big brutes" are usually fine since they're rushing right into the enemy, but my corrupter literaly blocks line of sight for half the team if he doesn't stay in the back. That was my first and last giant character.
So it's like reality: If you're a big & tall guy, you have to be mindful of the little people all around you. You know, because they can't aim their attacks THROUGH you.

Oh and Eddy, there are at least 2 "all midget" SG's on the villain side. I can't remember their names or servers, but one of them is also "all smurf" as well.

Well my lil guy is looking for an SG right about now. He's on Union server, villains (of course) Mime Artiste (What's creepier than a mime artiste? a midget Mime Artiste that can sneak up in front of you and punch you where it hurts!). He's 4ft, though with his pvp Top hat costume on, hes a lil bit taller

Well from a gmae mechanics perspective I think changing the size of your toon doesn't make a differeance but I may be wrong.

From what I can tell the tallest/smallest people still take up the smae space for LOS and need the same size objects to get behind to break it.

Now for PvP size is a preferance.. I have found that when there are lots and lots of targets about trying to clicky on a smaller target can be a pain.. havign said that bigger targets can obscure how u want to clicky smaller ones too. So with that being said it can play a small part to the PvP.

but all in all it's about how u like your toon to look and what it puts across I have toons large and small

Ps. Assasin strike to the shin FTW!

I've never had anyone quote my posts before as a thread!

And you're character/build size only affects Line Of Sight. +Perc, +Acc etc. applies on all build/char sizes.

Also, welcome to the game!

Dear God, it filled me with terror. And laughter.

Having the smallest stalker available is a bit of a pain in sirens you cant see where you are in the water which makes getting down for an AS a lil tricky other than that it dont make any difference in the game at all anywhere, you cant hide behind a box that a 7 foot toon cant in PvE perspective but in PvP it does help tho a quick press on tab would get you found
