  1. I can see you feel passionate about this but I have fought all kinds of combo's & AT's across PvP - the overpower underpower shouting doesn't really work..

play style - fast thinking - using a builds strengths avoiding the weaknesses where you an - with a grav troller enjoy spaming the slow effects from it with your storm.

just keep trying things out buddy - also cross posting isn't really needed on this subject.

Well IMO Trollers do just fine in PvP

    *note I use - Grav/FF - Ice/Storm & a claws/regen alot*

    /Thermal

My vote between Rad / Sonic is sonic -

It's fun and with thermal you can help out with some of it's damage mitigation PvE while leveling and then for PvP go for the stacked -res!
  3. Well I can see where you are going on this but MO regen isn't as overpowered as it seems to portray here. i've been playing one for a lng time and still prefer bringing out the trollers for PvP.

Regen is (As mentioned above) a tough nut to crack if played very well - but try fighting effectively with a regen that is hit with slows time & time again - it's tough. All in all the AT's & Sets have weaknesses all over - if one type beats you alot vary your play style or find something to counter it.

Blasters overpowered - yes they have that heroic moment of burst damage - but catch them out of aim and BU (hide behind a wall or quickly leap away) and they won't seem that threatening - practice and play mor in the zones in different teams and you'll soon find the weaknesses to both of these.
I say bring back toggle IH then I'll agree to Overpowered regen
  4. Just to help on okton's comments - i think Grav/Kin is a great fun combo - Kentics powers late on will really shine as with Grav.

Worm hole is great fun and will add to your control as Okton said - also Transferance will be a massive help to your end situation if you want to skip stamina (Tough if you start stacking Siphon speed).

On that note please don't drop it - the higher level powers with longer recharge really get a massive boost from Siphon speed and if you throw hasten in at the start it helps you get a two stack of siphon then watch all your meaty powers recharge in a flash.

The grav pet Sing is great and with Speed Boost you'll love it even more - finally at level 38 Fulcrum Shift will be a joy - i've played a multitiude of AT's & Power sets and I still hold by Kinetics being the most fun in any combination I've thrown it so far so stick it out you'll love it..

Fulcrum Shifted Propel as you throw a sofa at a boss and kill it will be a nice touch post level 38

to the guy 2 posts above, i wanna do damage but be able to take it.

    [/ QUOTE ]
/Elec can take more damage, but /fire can deal more. EM/ for PvP. So either EM/elec or EM/fire.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yep as per the quote above to take and dish out I think EM is best primary and fire or Elec.

Elec has a good God Mode to stand toe to toe vs several PvPer's while fire has a tasty rez as you no doubt will face plant in pvp and it's handy to have - either way both fun toons to play!
  6. Charnel hit it pretty much on the head there - PB & WS are great but just don't slip into the sterotyped AT's which means alot of people don't understand them greatly.

WS are massively powerful and worth the time - as you go up level it gets better and better from all the input i've heard
  7. Winning combo - well EM & SS are seriously decent primaries - i'd say secondries I think Elec & Fire stand out with Stone at the bottom sadly
DA imo is a low ranking one too although great for odd tricks.

But think they can all handle themselves pretty well!

Are you looking for team PvP or to survive or just raw damage?
  8. mr_nice_EU

    PvP Dominator?

yep - causal zone PvP is good on all types if you can stick it out. I'd stick with fire & energy has good moments throughout - Dom's are tough to PvP with at some of the lower end like Sirens as they ideally need alot of pool powers.

But yep stick to it you'l have fun
  9. Hiya Mortel and welcome to the game although sure I've seen your MM in action.

As always happy to help on @Mr Nice

    Welcome to the forums!
  10. Well - although I'm not about currently (PC Probs) I'm still sniffing about the zones and if called on will mash a few Hero/Villians

    SS/EN advice

I've seen a few SS/EN builds and played witha few although never played myself - if your duo'ing without support then the lack of a self heal can hurt - also duoing with another brute will take away from your own rage.

I would advise going for Aid Self which after level 32 will time in very well with your foot stomp - SS dishes out tonnes more damage when that attck is slotted up due to the number of mobs hit and the damage mitigation factor too.

As for Hasten - well I'd say the three slots would be well spent having a fast KO blow is always nice

Ok, I've looked through all the skills and shizzle, Im going with either...Claws or spines with ninjitsu. Maybe teleportation as travel...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sounds good - should be fun to play - imo I'd go for Spines out of that choice as towards end game I think the respec to PvP if you wanted would be easier to do.

Also I think that if your teaming alot with claws shockwave can drive people crazy although it's Knock Back is great for damage mitigation.

Enjoy the toon and welcome to the forums and CoX - if you need any help tell me on @Mr Nice

    Moving on Up

Well Sero hope to see you round - MSN as always and hope where ever you head to is all good.

Keep in touch buddy has been great fun teaming/TF'ing and PvP'ing in all the zones (Duo Stalker vs Emptah Blaster teams ftw )

    Take care buddy
  14. Yep i'd agree with Hammer there - generally as soon as a zone sparks up teams are flying about all over and you can get some good pvp.

If the zones quiet you'll get the solo AT's in there trying to chase down the few bare bones for some rep.

Keep trying and you'll get a good team at some point and a great laugh!
  15. mr_nice_EU

    Hamidon?

I'll keep my eyes peeled on this thread if time is good I'm sure to be around can post something up on my SG forums when dates set too

    Super Groups

As mentioned above the register is a good palce to start - there are notes added to each SG/VG and you can see which ones are going.

The list provided is a bit old but I am sure most of them are still active. If you need any help feel free to send em a tell @Mr Nice

    TP Foe

I'd say fro WB you needn't go for Tp Foe although all the LOS breaks would be good for a DM stalker it may not be the greatest when u tp foe them to a corner.

However I would say that Quickness is a great power to have and for DM would work great. IMO on my SR quickness simply emans More Damage output from my attacks or more importantly a quicker Placiate for those desperate times, defense vs blasters and ranged.. well simply put most blasters with BU & AIM won't be missing sadly

best form of defense is LOS and speed I have found on my squishy SR stalker
  18. I do agree with TG that WB + is touhger for spiking i think SC is a good spiking zone out of all i've played in really. I use MA/SR for spiking, quick animation ok damage.

Also I think that spiking is still valuable in Zonal PvP - alot of the time it can be combined in villian teams to hammer the stalker hunters - but vs a blaster/emp combo I'd stick with spiking all the time if your on a stalker.
  19. Yep - depending on play style your after really - with Ninjas being a melee type of pet all three are generally ranged. I play thugs and thumbs up to them good fun so far!
  20. [ QUOTE ]

Edit: Could use this with a strategy stalkobot mentioned yonkers ago. He described 2 stalkers who would torpedo the heroes while switching travel powers. That way the stalker could get out of sight by the time the attack landed. Was something like that anyway.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ype theres a fair few tactics to dodge the so 'called' stalker hunters - I will say that stalker hunter builds are tough to play against but I think there alos lots and lots of fun. In regards the the above idea stalk had a great one on the go there and we duo'd up a fair few times in SC for this.

It's a speed style stalker - Simply put some times my stalker can land a heavy hitting crit attack and never be seen - if timmed well you can get both attacks to land almost similtanious as you super speed past the target. The animation will take place a long way from the atarget and the burst damage will drop them if your quick enough even vs a good blaster/emp combo.

I've had a few comments on doing this thing especially in WB with a triple critting EC yet the animation played when I was a good 100 yards from the target and dropped a brute from 3/4 HP

To stop a good old blaster/emp combo I was very succsful with a stalker duo where we ignored the defender and just played the balster in SC. Using Placiate just as the blaster hit's aim+BU tends to kill there fun there and then - leave it a few seconds then re-ingage. We also kept changing his targets by dashing round buildings while another stalker engaged the blaster.

I think after a good hour+ it ended up a great innings by the two of us even when we were facing two Blaster/Emp teams. Keeping the blaster at bay and single massive spike damage bursts is the key to them and palciate the best tool. Playing a stalker where you can be seen in PvP really enhances knowing how to use them. I'd advise you to simply going to zones with only hide on and trying to fight your way past opponents that can see you and timing placiate to hinder opponenets attack chains

Ps - this is just my view of course - stalker killers - meh imo it's a big target on there head to go hunt them why have an easy kill when u can clobber some St4k4r hunter!1!1!!

Hell no I say make one server PVP with all the french german and english people. That would rock

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yep I do agree that a PvP based server would indeed be great, but I don't see enough demand yet in the game, now maybe some coding to open arena listings to all servers much like the AH would enhance the current PvP'ers we have. But I guess I'm just wishing.

but with the test server up and running I kinda see a universal pvp server already there (except obviously you don't get your rep up on your 'live' toons).

Or are we going to see a max exodus/influx to one server leaving more barren zones for potential new PvP'ers to roam about in for those that picked the 'wrong' server?

(But then mayb if enough went the dev's might make a single EU server and slash our toon slots by 4)!

    Ps - It's late & I'm rambling!
  22. Yep was a good one thanks for setting that up was a nice pleasent SF run (Ps I was the face planting kinetics hehe)
  23. I'm thinking of keeping all mine in there home server. Now the option is good and open to all but I've found that PvP across both servers to be the same feeling.

if I want to get lots of PvP going on any toon test server nites are always worth looking at. The gernealisations made for either server on the PvP attitudes I think is mis-leading I've had great and bad exepriances on both servers with a variety fo toons.

I hear everyone say Union is busier - that may be the case but sometimes finding a right team for me to slot in happens on my home sever sadly

Either way I hope the transfer doesn't leave either one server barren in PvP and I'd hope all the fellow PvP'ers agree too .

(So lets all level up on both servers stuff to play and get a decent PvP global channel running - or is there laready one?)

    When I Tank.

Yep great post and great ethics for alot of tank types.

but as mentioned it does varie on all builds & playstyles and teams - being able to adapt the blue prints you have there is what will show the good tankers to the greats i think. If your tanking and all is going well I always think if anyone drops it should be you first and try to stick to that ethic when my tanking is going on.

Nice post and good for any new to the AT
  25. Like the idea and would be very cool - however it seems very similar to thugs/Merc's atm (Excluding the seperate powers such as chopper etc..).

I think if a new class for MM's is to be had it would have to vary massively from the other pets such an animal or elemental based MM.

Love the ideas though and the descriptions would be cool to run a group of sleazy cops around - upgrades could come with aviator shades and fake tashes
