None of these primaries can deal a lot of ST damage in a short amount of time. If you want ST burst damage go ice or fire, these really aint good ST damage dealing primarys.
My experience with rad/thermal in PvP is that it's more of a 'torture' set then a 'you die now' set. Out of the two I think sonic will come out on top, the -res from sonic, combined with melt armor, will produce more damage then the -def from rad. Also rad has some long animations if you care about that.
For PvP I'd go with Sonic. Although I personally prefer Rad, Sonic is better.

By personal experience fighting Raz's sonic/therm over and over... my advice is go either fire or ice

Sure, when you have two Thermals your primary doesn't matter so much, but it's not permanent so you may as well make the best out of your choices...
Ice is the best combination of secondary effects, damage and activation time.

Rad/Thermal has proved to be good enough for me in zones so far -- the build is very tight so the do-it-all Cosmic Burst is handy, yeah.
For high-end though I'd suggest Ice because other villains generally have weak resistance to it, and the opponents' Thermals' shields offer less Cold protection than say, Fire, which is resisted lots.
My vote between Rad / Sonic is sonic -
It's fun and with thermal you can help out with some of it's damage mitigation PvE while leveling and then for PvP go for the stacked -res!
Personally i would say either Sonic/Thermal and i have seen a few Energy/Thermals about as well if u dont want to go for ice or fire 
Ice/thermal, simply the best corruptor IMO. Playing a sonic/dark at high level (50 soon) all i can say that sonic without a team and heavy debuffs is laughable.
Sonic... laughable... suuuurrre. Did you actually play your sonic corruptor up to that level? Sonic is great single target damage, especially against hard targets where the -res really makes a difference. If it is less than that for you there is definitely something wrong with your build or your playstyle (or both).
If it has eyes, you can blind it, if it has blood, you can make it bleed, if it has a mouth, you can make it scream.

I still find Sonic laughable in comparison to ice and fire. Specially its cast time.
There is one thing that hurts sonic's single target dps and that is the long animation of Shout. However, that's still not even close to "laughable" and this drawback is offset by the stacking of -res and the control options in that powerset.

Energy for the win!!! I think I would put sonic ahead of fire. I don't think I have fought many ice thermals but it ultimately depends on what kind of pvp you want e.g. zone, arena, dualing etc.

Hi there. After playing my Fire/Kin Corruptor to 50 soon after the Villain level cap was increased, I think it is time I make a new one.
I am planning to make a Thermal, and was wondering what everyone has found to be good in high level PVP with it?
I have already played a Dark Blast Defender as well as an Ice Blast Corruptor, and of course my Fire Corruptor. I am not keen on taking Assault Rifle because I can't stand the redraw it would come with, and I don't particularly like Energy... so it leaves me with Radiation or Sonics.
