Death of the Art of Zone PvP Teaming?
Probably down to the fact that if you ain't solo these days you get abused for being a 1337 n00b, cheater and h4x if you are on a team in a PvP zone. That's probably why nearly every toon in a PvP zone is a stalker/scrapper, tanker (lol ice tanks) or brute. As these can solo pretty effectively.
5 stalkers teamed in WB -> ruin competition. Thats what i face everyday at pvp.
I haven't really noticed that on union so I would probably put it down to bad luck. Could be variety of reasons such as wanting to get higher pvp rep and the maybe not many around so if you in the team even less people to fight. Would have expected them to let you know why though.

Prolly you had bad luck. On Union PvP zones you will most likely need a team when the PvP gets going in the zones.
I have not noticed this on defiant. There should usually be teams once the amount of players in zone goes up. Solo players will just get ganked.
However, of toons most likely to refuse a team invite, I think stalker and scrapper players are most likely to be the ones going after pvp rep and solo. But of course this is just a small portion of all stalker and scrapper players.
On Union last night there was at least one of each villain AT in the zone and a mix of heroes. I did notice that the scrappers were mostly spines. It was good fun with neither side out right winning.
Yep i'd agree with Hammer there - generally as soon as a zone sparks up teams are flying about all over and you can get some good pvp.
If the zones quiet you'll get the solo AT's in there trying to chase down the few bare bones for some rep.
Keep trying and you'll get a good team at some point and a great laugh!
Its the luck of the draw. Some days a simple "any teams" will work. Other days you cant even get your own team up and running.
I like turning up in a pvp zone, grabbing or building a PUG and working with what you have. For various reasons I dont pvp as much as I used to, but if I am online I could be persuaded to join at some point. Feel free to PM me for my global and toon names.

You are alone in a pvp zone, then you suddenly notice someone on opposite side. You beat him couple times, he calls for help. With a team he ganks you couple times so you call for help on SG chat and friends list. Someone mentions action in arena chat and soon we have some nice pvp
More like: You are alone in the PvP zone, a few more villains come in, you chat about the weather and lack of heroes over broadcast. You send a "more heroes to RV" message to the Arena chat, get some wisecrack response, continue broadcast chatter for a while and go away bored.

Reassuring, it was just getting rather frustrating that even with 5-6 players either side the opportunity for some good team PvP was being lost as everyone ran around solo playing the opportunist.
Was a little worried i was gonna have to go roll one of them melee type jobs

The style of play depends on where the PvP is and who your fighting with and alongside. Warburg is the most hectic as there are usually more enemies even if they aren't all on the same side. The main battles are on the beach but every so often there is a skirmish further in. Sirens Call is big and people usually stand in a group buffing or spread out looking for the enemy. Recluse's Victory has the most variation between solo and group as there are so many objectives and dangers. The arena is completly different and the team really needs to work together if its going to win there. Smaller maps, less places to hide, different spawn rules, no safe areas and its more hectic.

If you pay for the transfer... tomorrow
I'm hoping that my experiences are a result of bad timing, but it seems to me like the solo culture is taking over in Zone PvP.
Several times in the last week I've logged into the various zones for a bit of light hearted PvP to end a session and each time team requests are met with a complete silence or flurry of rejested invites. It saddens me that Sirens seems to have become Scrappers and Tankers against the Stalkers all running solo while Warburg is a no go zone of small 2-3 man teams where if you didn't come with a team you'll likely not find one.
Anyone else noticed this? Or as I'm hoping, have a just had an unlucky PvP week?
