IMO, that's BS. If I told one of my customers that at my real job, they'd find someone else to do business with.

And while I agree that it's not affecting everyone, it is obviously affecting enough people that these threads pop up every couple of months.

Show me a casino where I am guaranteed to walk out with as much money as I walked in with, or an equal value of merchandise, and I will show you a casino where I will actually "gamble."

Vegas, Atlantic City, and all the various other casinos that have cropped up across the country hold no appeal for me because if I am going to spend my money on something, I want to spend it on something I have to show for it. If I'm going to spend it on an experience - a movie, a sporting event, a concert - I at least want to come away with a pleasant memory of the experience. I don't care how long a winning streak I have at a blackjack table, if I walk away having lost $100, then it wasn't a pleasant experience.

That to me is the difference between actual gambling - the kind that can ruin peoples' lives - and the hyperbole being thrown around in here with reference to Super Packs, or trading cards, or heck, those little football helmets they used to sell in bubblegum machines. By the way, do they still sell those? *looks through his desk draw for spare quarters.*

Not because of this player. To me the costume set was a great part of the Super Packs, but it was only that, a part of them. I feel I got a lot of other great stuff for my points in those packs. In fact, I bought a second set of 24 on each of my accounts after I had unlocked the full costume set on both accounts in each of the first sets of 24 I had bought.

If the Devs annouced tomorrow that they decided to sell the costume set separately starting next week, I would not at all begrudge them. As long as it didn't mean they were discontinuing the practice of Super Packs for those of us who like them.

Agreed. I would never use the "Automatically Flip All Cards" option, though I do flip the first three in rather quick succession since they are usually commons or uncommons.

They are fixing Hami-O's so that things like the Defense Debuff ones will no long buff a player's defense if they slot it in a defensive power. At least that's my understanding.

If I understand that correctly, hitting the same foe with Mesmerize twice will not increase the magnitude of the sleep component since the power also has a damage component. Right?

It has not. In fact, I get logged out so frequently that I have started copying posts before hitting the "Submit Reply" button, because it seems like if it takes me long than 60 seconds to type a post, I will get logged out and lose the whole thing.

It's ridiculous and the company should be ashamed that their forums are this user unfriendly, but they are so clearly unwilling to fix it that I stopped complaining about it months ago. ETA: Until today.

In my opinion it depends upon how it's done. SBC was at his best IMO on the Ali G show where he would interview politicians or public officials and expose their fundamental ignorance of the issues or of what people really cared about; or better yet when he purposely made racists and homophobes uncomfortable or angry. Was it nice? No, but neither were the people who were his victims. Was it funny? Hell yes.

But things like the slapstick bit at the Oscars? I'll pass on that. It's cheap and unfunny IMO. I thought J-Lo did a better job of shocking folks.

Yeah, but that opens a whole can of worms. For example, what about buying costume sets, or even individual costume pieces for single characters? Not ALL of my characters are going to use Imperial Dynasty set, so why can't I spend 40 points and unlockit for just one character? Or why can't I buy Piece X that normally costs 40 points for 4 points for that one character who could really use it?
