Here Wassabi.
This is easily found in the News & Announcements forum.
It should be straight forward & easy to understand.
Quote:There have been a lot of questions about the City of Heroes® Going Rogue prepurchase program, the Complete Collection and the Item Pack. Wed like to take a moment and try to clarify this for all of you.
There are two different ways to get the City of Heroes Going Rogue expansion: as a separate expansion, or as part of the Complete Collection.
The separate City of Heroes Going Rogue expansion costs $29.99 (19.99 / £17.99) and requires you to already have City of Heroes. The separate expansion doesnt include game time, so you must be an active subscriber to play. The separate expansion does not include the Complete Collection Item Pack. The separate expansion will only be available digitally, and will be available for prepurchase starting in March (see below for more information on what you get from prepurchasing this separate expansion).
The City of Heroes Going Rogue: Complete Collection costs $39.99 (29.99 / £26.99) and includes City of Heroes Going Rogue as well as City of Heroes, City of Villains, 30 days of game time, and the Complete Collection Item Pack. With the game time and previous expansions included, it is ideal for those who are new to City of Heroes franchise (perhaps as a gift!), but also a good value for players not interested in prepurchasing. The Complete Collection will be available both digitally and at retail (in North America) starting in July and cannot be prepurchased (only the separate expansion can be prepurchased).
Starting at launch in July, players who prepurchased or bought just the separate City of Heroes Going Rogue expansion will be able to upgrade to the Complete Collection. The upgrade will include the Complete Collection Item Pack, but it wont include any game time.
Prepurchase
Only the separate City of Heroes Going Rogue expansion will be available for prepurchase. The Complete Collection will not be available for prepurchase, nor are there any incentives for preordering it at retail.
Prepurchasing the separate City of Heroes Going Rogue expansion will give you early access to the Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning power sets. Dual Pistols will be available immediately once the prepurchase program starts in early March. Demon Summoning will become available starting in April. You will get both power sets early if you prepurchase.
Complete Collection Item Pack
For those who prepurchase the separate City of Heroes Going Rogue expansion, but also want the Complete Collection Item Pack, starting on launch day in July, we will offer an upgrade to the Complete Collection. The upgrade will include the Complete Collection Item Pack but will not include any game time. The pricing for the upgrade hasnt been set yet.
We hope this clears the majority of your questions up!

Quote:Quoted myself from another thread.Actually there are only two options here:
- prepurchase digital copy of GR early(as in prior to official release in July)
- purchase physical or digital copy of GR Complete Collection on or after official release date
If one decides to pre-purchase digital copy of GR prior to official release that person will pay $29.99. They will have access to Dual Pistols in March followed by Demon Summoning in April. This person will be able to purchase the Item Pack when GR goes live in July, price as of yet to be determined.
If one waits until July for the Complete Collection combo, they will pay $39.99. They will receive 1 free month of game time as well as the Item Pack.
We do NOT have to pay both fees.
If you go the $29.99 route, you have early access to Dual Pistols & Demons, followed by voluntary purchase of the special Item Pack(price tbd).
If you go the $39.99 route, you gain access to the new powersets once the game goes live in July. As a bonus for your patience they've thrown in 1 free month of game time & the special Item Pack.
I will say they have not announced an exact day & time when we are allowed to pre-purchase GR in it's digital form.
The only date they've made any announcement for is 2xp weekend, which begins 3-4-10.
The GR test server was announced to go down today in the Announcement forum.
Long time visitors can no doubt say with certainty, based on past experience, that when they shut the test server down it means "something." -

You will also be able to get your hands on an exclusive item pack if you get the City of Heroes Going Rogue: Complete Collection (MSRP $39.99 USD), that will be available when Going Rogue releases in July!
This sounds like I have 4 *possible* opitions:
1) Buy COHGR for $30, and get earlier access to DP and DS
2) Wait till July spend $40 to buy COHGR:CC, and get (#1) plus the item pack
3) Buy each as they are available (total $70) - so as to get early access to power sets and pack as soon as each are available
4) *Hopefully*, be able to buy COHGR:CC soon(tm) such that I have early access to DP and DS; then when GR hits the item pack will "open" automatically.
Is it me, or is this overly convoluted thinking indicative of a Nemi Plot?
To be perfectly honest, I dont care. It's a wonderful game, and I'm happy to play it and I'm happy that DXP is comming (although I'll be away (wish it was an in-game gift/temp-power to click on lasting 72hrs)). It all just seems strange.- prepurchase digital copy of GR early(as in prior to official release in July)

Not really sure why the 2 people who quoted me were either annoyed by or not annoyed by, whichever suites you, my suggestion with respect to the hide option.
The 2nd person somehow read "hate" out of my suggestion.
Wasn't my intention to "hate" anyone. It was a suggestion followed by a question.
As to low-mid level population servers offering a "different" (or please use whichever adjective makes you comfortable) game playing experience..how much different can it be?
Not really looking for an answer to that last question.
I have a feeling your first "natural" response would be for me to find out for myself.
& with that this lovely convo is over.
For the record you two got the best of me.
Gratz. -
Quote:The idea that people should be "forced" to use free transfers to lower population servers does not work at all.I am just curious to know if there is a source to find out the average activity level of the servers per day/week/month?
With the free character transfer weekend being extended again I was also wondering if the point was to even out the server loads or is it to allow folks to move characters from less active servers to more populated ones?
I ask this because the net effect so far seems to be that more characters are going from less populated servers to the ones that suffered conjestion problems/lag/disconnects already thereby making the free transfers somewhat counter-productive.
One idea I was toying with was perhaps some thought might be given to allowing free transfers to the less active servers only along with some other incentive (such as a limited time/use temporary power or unique mission/badge). Maybe even each server a unique feature. Again, the goal would be to hopefully spread the load more evenly amongst all the available servers.
Anyway, any answers/feedback would be apreciated. Thanks for reading.
You theorize the purpose of free server transfer is to reduce the bandwidth on high population servers by giving people a chance to go to low population servers that do not suffer as much lag...I doubt that's the purpose of free server transfers.
My theory on why they offer free server transfers is so that those individuals who have access to computers & internet connections that allow them to handle the higher populations, can switch from the low population server they started on to the higher population server that offers them this MMO feature: greater interaction.
Nothing wrong with offering people incentives to transfer to lower population servers. I wouldn't make the transfer myself. My computer & internet connection can handle Freedumb's higher population tyvm.
Most definately something wrong with forcing the community to use free transfers only to move to lower population servers.
Freedumb is the only server I've made characters on.
Oh, for those of you who prefer solo here's a thought:
how about setting your default keybindings so that with the push of a key your new alt will instantly become hidden to searches.
That way the only time anyone will bother you is if they right-click on your character and attempt to engage you.
Then again you can remain absolutely mute to the entire community by altering your chat boxes so you do not see any broadcasts, private messages or any other type of communication so you do not have to deal with anyone.
So I ask you "solo" players: why not have your cake and eat it too? -
Fantastic news!
I have a request, if I may, for i18:_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _- Off-line Super Group invites. No longer does the customer base have to rely on an outsider to get their alts into their SG
rant over.
-
So my tank does not need taunt if i'm the only tank on a team fighting an av?
That's great news. -
Quote:Hmmm...this really illustrates for me why one would select petless MM as a project. What kind of crazy-apple definition of healer is that? I have, slot and use every single power from Empathy during combat, and my teammates are grateful. If that's not a healer, then I should start handing out dictionaries.
Me & you....we're from different planets.
Me is from Mars, you is from Venus.
Ok since I took the first shot, you can take the follow up uncontested.
Thereby, you're the winner!
gratzzz

I'm for capabilities all the way.
All my alts take CJ, SuperSpeed,Stamina.
I realize by doing this I'm gimping my playing experience but don't worry...I won't ever complain to you how I do not get enough out of this game.
Besides...for ME...concept is only playing it halfway.
Concept..for ME...is laying the foundation for full fledged RP.
Yes..yes..I'm n00b...& you're right.
But you know what?
It's okay.
-
new power set: NO.
I do like the idea, however, of a 2handed weapon option on maces & axes.
The downside of course is you can no longer use SD with the 2handed option.....or could you?????
Maybe....just maybe.....a particular dev...who's name starts with a P....might consider allowing shield on two handed weapons with the shield as a small buckler on the off-hand forearm.
Since this would involve new animations it'll never happen.
& so we move on to the next topic. -
You spent billions on your petless MM & the joke's on Tokyo?
You must be into that super, duper pineapple express... -
Yes, yes, yes.
Keep making new threads suggesting this until the devs BREAK!
Unless they can come up with an explanation on how such a change would break the game for the worse, then just do it. -

Quote:Uh oh, I think you guys caught Babs on this one hereLooks like we got another Pirate supporter
Hear that, ya ninjas?!
Anyway, I completely agree. Personally, Flintlocks and Clockwork pistols definately get my vote. Anyway, I think there was an image of a multi-barreled Flintlock on the first page?
I can make my guns rain bullets....yet it is out of the realm of possibility my pirate-themed character can reproduce the same effect with magic?
;p
Just like to close by saying I am NOT a fan of the pirate concept myself, but I think I made a reasonable point. -
Quote:I don't think Merits should be thought of as something tangible. They're should to be thought of as "points of favor" you earn through your accomplishments. You then imagine walking up to a Merit Vendor & saying "Hey Positron, Synapse & so & so sent me over here. They said you'd have something for me1. Able to trade Merits
2. Invention table in ALL Wentworths
3. (forgot but will edit when I remember it)
That's all.
Thanks."
At least that's how I look at them ;d -
Quote:Not to pick a fight here but the reason I said what I said is because in the 1.5 years I've visited on these forums someone has always posted the Q in the MM forum "Hey what do you guys think of a petless MM?"Cool!
I don't think the reason he did it was to be able to use dual pistols. He/she just wanted to show that it was possible to make a MM without pets. The pistols is just for fun I guess.
In other words "Damn these dual pistols look so cool! I wanna team up with people, look cool, and still be effective."
Ya...basically that. -
Effective is highly subjective, but we all know that.
I congratulate you on what "you" consider an effective outcome.
I would love to see the build posted, not because I wanna steal your secret & go make a petless for myself. Do the means justify the end, in my mind, is what I am curious about.
In closing, you picked a helluva time to invest in this project with a "real" effective dual pistoler on the way. -
Quote:Can one of you forum vets please, please help all of us n00bs understand how totally wrong it is to make final judgements on power set combos without having experienced those power sets up to say..lvl 38 when the secondary's tier9 has kicked in?Despite what I've heard about Elec/Shield, I must say, at low levels, it really isn't amazing me. My Elec/SR scrapper seems to be a lot more surviveable than an Elec/Shield I teamed up with, who even was one level over myself! We are, for the record, talking about a level 16 Elec/SR scrapper and a level 17 Elec/shield scrapper.
(For the record, this thread is made as a discussion thread about elec/sr vs. elec/shield)
I think it would be better for all of us in the long run -
Quote:Ya I'm nitpicking. The title suggests GOING ROGUE EXPANSION, not access to two power sets. You only get early access to the powersets, not Praetoria.
Perhaps they titled it that way because what you're purchasing is Going Rogue?
The initial post was made near the end of the California business day, your post was made before most of them rolled out of bed the next day.
If you're still confused, Memphis_Bill really summarized it well:
Unless in your infinite wisdom & intellect all GOING ROGUE EXPANSION is consists of two powersets.
Sry, but I don't think you brain bashed me as well as you thought when you typed that response to me. -
I'm a n00b ya.
I believe most MM experts will say the single most important set bonus to acquire
or if not the most important then the 2nd most important set bonus to go for
would be hit point increase.
The more hp you have, the longer you can survive while in BG mode.
Tc. -
Logic tells me if it was not stated, then it must not be.
So riddle me this my fellow nerdlings: will those of us who choose to pre-purchase the digital version of GR only have access to the power sets or are we able to explore the whole GR experience, which would mean access to the new zones on Praetoria (but not the item pack)?
Again, logic tells me since the redname only mentioned "access to powersets", I should take that as the ability to create new Pistol & demon alts in march & april respectively but still play in either Paragon or Rogue.
My confusion comes from the title of this thread: Two ways to get going rogue.
What it should have been instead is: Only one way to get early access to new powersets, live on the servers, before the official GR release date.
When the title says "get going rogue" early, my initial thought is "yay. Not only do I get early access to Pistols then Demon but Praetoria as well."
Any thoughts frenz?
And this topic seems kinda important....one initial post from a redname....then no follow up from anyone???......not even the our friendly-neighborhood BABs??? -
Ya.
This be the same guy who can get perm hasten only using SOs..... -
Quote:Ah you're absolutely right.Try it without combat jumping and you'll find that those angles aren't enough slope with just super speed.
I did forget to mention I take CJ just as often as I take SS on all my alts ;p
I take effectiveness over concept any day of the eon. -
Sry I take capabilities/effectiveness over concept any day of the eon.
Ill/Rad is the way to go. You compliment your Phantoms & you very much compliment you human teammates.
But as they say,
"Play whichever power sets make the game fun for YOU."
