I think is would be really cool if any new toons I make could go in my SG with out having to get others to do it for me. I think we should in are own as we make them we own it so why not?

It would be convenient, like sending a join request in an email (like a friend request on FB?)
*thinks*

Oh wait, that would ensue VG/SG req spam wouldn't it?

Global invite, many MMO has it. Yes it would be really good in CoX. I tend to create new chars now and then and I think that the poor captains in my SG is tired of me asking them for an invite :P

Yes, yes, yes.

Keep making new threads suggesting this until the devs BREAK!

Unless they can come up with an explanation on how such a change would break the game for the worse, then just do it.

OP - are you suggesting that any character (*hate* the word "toon", I'm not Bugs Bunny) would be automatically added to your SG?

If that is the case, then "no thanks". I have some servers where my alts are in different SGs for a reason and making them go into one SG automatically will mess that up.

Also - your idea kinda assumes that people have solo SGs for only their alts, which isn't always the case. Larger SGs with multiple players would not want every alt added to the SG automatically because they could quickly reach the cap on members. Those larger SGs alao frequently have alt-SGs to handle overflow, so determining which SG the character would automatically go into could be bothersome.

On the other hand, if you are asking for an OPTION to make it easier to add alts to the small SG, I would say "yes, please".

I can't work out what would be the best mechanic to do it though. Someone else brought up the problem of spam invites if email SG invites were added.

I'm just trying to define & refine the OP's idea, which was sketchy on details.

I'm with Ad Astra on all counts (Especially the character one! GRRRR! Mom Plays WoW and calls everything a "Toon" now)

However I'd be all for the ability to self-invit other characters on your account. For example "/sginvite @Steampunkette and the next character I login gets an SG invite...

Though this would have to be a personal invite -only- to avoid players randomly inputting global handles in an attempt to get multiple people to join their various SGs.

I believe there might be a way of making SG invites global by improving the SG registrar's options somewhat

At the moment you can create a SG, pay for rent and look up the top 100 SGs (as well as searching for SGs, I think, not sure). So why not add an option that lists all a player's characters and their own SGs, because you have permission from yourself, the character you log in as can invite themselves to the SG at any rank the player desires.

It can simply be 'Invite <character> to Supergroup' which then opens up a list of Supergroups you currently founded, click that Supergroup and it will ask what rank you wish to be, after you accept, that character is part of that supergroup. It won't work on SGs you are not a founder of, as that might cause some problems I cannot determine right now.

Sure a command-line can be used anywhere, but adding a Supergroup management feature would go best at the NPCs that gave you your SG in the first place. The benefit of being to invite yourself without bothering others outweighs the five-minute trip needed to go back to Atlas or Port Oakes.

Power?

If that is you Power we know now that you can make coherent posts so changing your forum name so you can go back to making gibberish posts is bad form.
