I will say they have not announced an exact day & time when we are allowed to pre-purchase GR in it's digital form.
The only date they've made any announcement for is 2xp weekend, which begins 3-4-10.
The GR test server was announced to go down today in the Announcement forum.
Long time visitors can no doubt say with certainty, based on past experience, that when they shut the test server down it means "something."
Ahh that makes it clear thanks for the help on that. If that's true then pre purchase must be very soon, if they intend to do DP for this month. Any word yet on this "special items pack"? I've seen that floating around in the forums but does anyone know what it will be? Special powers, costume items, emotes?
A couple of clarifications:
If you pre-purchase (which is different from a pre-order) Going Rogue, you'll get early access to Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning; Pistols will come as soon as you pre-purchase, which is supposed to be available in time for this weekend, but Demons won't show up until next month. They're not even on Test yet.
A brief description of the item pack has been released (in the same postings as the description of the pre-purchase); it will include "alpha" and "omega" themed costumes and auras (whatever those mean), new emotes, and a stealth power. That isn't included with the pre-purchase, but will be available as a booster when Going Rogue actually launches in July.
The item pack will also be included in the cost of the "full" version of GR (as opposed to just the add-on if you've already got CoH), but that version isn't available for pre-purchase; only the upgrade is. The full version will come with the standard "I just bought a new copy of the game" free month of play, though, so it's technically probably a better deal from a purely monetary standpoint. You just have to wait until July for pistols and demons, is all.
FUN FACT: That burst of light when you level up is actually the effectiveness escaping from your enhancements all at once.
Ahh ok! Thats good to know. I'm fully intending to pre purchase. Want to try those duel pistols out. Saw the beta thread and they look great. Guess I'll keep my eye on the main site this week for the pre purchase announcment. Humm...come to think of it, I wonder if that Duel pistols is what the 2.5 gb download was this morning I had.../excited...

I wanted to make sure I understood the way this pre-order works for GR. The way that I understand it is that at some future date (to be announced yet..but very soon) Pre oreders will start and anyone who does so will immediately get to use Duel Pistols/Demons on their account (kind of like a booster pack). And then in July when the expansion goes live there will be another as of yet announced bonus content you can buy with it? I think I'm off base on this, but I just need to clarify when I can pre order and if/when the DP/Demons bonus content will be available if I do. Thanks for the help!
