    Pet Peeves 2.0!

    Hrm. I suppose it's a pet peeve.

I don't much care for the people that simply run in circles around the dance floor in Pocket D. I mean, it's their dime and all...but it's mighty distracting to have a character zoom by -just- inside my camera angle and distance every three to five seconds.
  2. No. Incarnate content sucks lately, with all the gimmicks they use to try and flat out kill characters. Most iTrials just seem like D&D with a DM that wants a total party wipe anyway.

Personally, I keep subbing so I can keep my 25+ characters. And make more if I want, as I've a few slots still open. I imagine if I stopped my subscription and went to freemie, I'd lose some characters. Not to mention transfers to get those I lose to playable servers.

This isn't an excuse. I'm sure they've still got programmers capable of reading code and making sense of it. What is more accurate to say is that they don't see any profit in doing things for bases. I -guarantee- you if someone in marketing saw a means of making a -regular profit- off of rewriting or adding base items.....it'd be done in half an issue/update!!

Yay. So all the "must have highest possible defense rating" players put the ax on that, eh? Pff. I'd rather have the footstomp back. Or better yet...some means of having an alternate animation for the power. Let us choose.
  5. Ah. Boo. I want my old animation back.

And I thought it was a bug, so I thought I -was- posting in the right section.
  6. I made my first PB in July of 2009. It was rough, yes, especially since I'd decided to do a humanform only peacebringer. Took the better part of a year, because I'm a casual gamer...but I got her to 50. I've never respecced her from the time when fitness became inherent, either.

I like it a lot. I've incarnated her, to T3's except for the hybrid one. Haven't unlocked that yet.

My question is this.....sometime in the last issue or three....Solar Flare's animation changed for her. From a foot stomp one to a hand clap one. Can we have the old animation back? Flavor text from the power itself lends one to believe it's a foot stomp kind of attack. Here, I'll copy/pasta it.

"You channel the might of your Kheldian energy into the very Earth itself. The ground erupts and cracks with luminous energy, blasting all nearby foes, knocking them back and reducing their Defense. Damage: High, Recharge: Slow"

I can't recall exactly when the animation change occurred...but I do know it was after incarnate content. I -think- around the time the Underground trial came out, but I'm not sure.

PLEASE, please please? Old footstompy goodness back?

    Base Updates?

At this point.....I would not be upset at a complete overhaul of how bases are done. Okay, the legacy thing prevents them from doing too much, I get that. Toss that system and make a new one, easier to navigate, more intuitive, more items....we've been throwing money at the game for....about a year now? Why can't something like this happen?
  9. See, I've already done all the DA arcs. Never talked to Gabriel beforehand, either. So now, all he says is "test my might". As far as the other answers go...huh. RNG must hate me. All I ever got was threads for doing the DA arcs.

See....the only thing you can earn in the DA arcs is threads. No incarnate salvage has -ever- dropped for me, nor come up as a reward. And never have I gotten an Empyrean merit reward. So, it's not solo incarnate content, per se. At least, not like a trial.

Add in the fact that the -only- way to get the "special" xp to unlock the newest incarnate ability is to run the Magi trial (or farm the frontloaded part) and....it just screams "play our new content!" to me. Personally, the only two trials I -liked- don't get played much any more, or are just speed runs, which I detest.

So, it's not that the single player game doesn't work for me....I prefer it.
  11. Is there anything like a timeline of events for Praetoria? My search-fu is weak.

Specifically, I'm looking for how much of the earth in Praetoria is taken over by the Hamidon's forces. Islands like Hawaii and Australia for example.

Also....billboards in game. A set of them make mention of "Blackwell Industries". Any lore on Blackwell him/herself?
  12. Is it so hard to imagine that certain people that left the game back when Enhancement Diversification came into effect....-are still gone-? What about those accounts?

Or say...people that left with the defense nerf?
    Ditto the various PvP issues?

I'm sure it can at least be agreed that there are perhaps quite a few accounts that simply aren't going to be reactivated.

I'm reasonably certain there's some way of identifying -those accounts only- and perhaps cancelling them? I'm also fairly certain that those accounts are what the OP is referring to. The long dead ones.
  13. Having read through the thread...and wow, THAT was a chore....I find it hard to comprehend why people put up so much fuss over play money. Not like you can buy anything in the real world with inf.

There were some that had used some rather complex math to figure out rates and "total amount of inf in the game"......but...it's just that. A game!

Granted, it's their dime and they're doing what is "fun" to them...and all I'm saying is...I just don't get it. -I- personally can't "play" that way. Too much like work.

    You. Are. Wrong.

I actually hope you're right. But...my actual -experience- with elitist gamers tells me this will happen. Call it a gut feeling that it will happen when this goes live, unless they change the proc before then. *shrug*

Except not. I can fully see people kicking someone with KB from the team with the reasoning being "you don't have the converter proc. And I hate KB."

I have in the past been kicked from teams simply because I did not have a certain power that everyone else picks or an "optimal" build that softcaps all positional defense ratings.

I'm sorry, but I don't find playing "cookie cutter" builds fun. If everyone is running around with the same powers/set bonuses/etc., where is the individuality to the game?

Technically? An infinite supply, as one can simply run missions to earn inf. AND there's now inf boosters, which will increase "earning" rates, not to mention all the other toys we now have to play with our play money.

I personally use the cubicle found in other furniture. The walls of the cubicle act just like a regular wall. Additionally, now that items can be rotated, you can set them at an angle to get the effect of open doors and such. Perfect for an open safe. The only problem is that the safe door that is the personal salvage storage item is transparent from the inside looking out.

To be honest......all it took was a certain someone's post to turn it into that.
  19. I hope that pics can be posted of these bases here as well? Pleeeease?

Fixed that for ya. Some people don't think grindy, repetitive things are fun. And personally, almost all of the older hero side Task Force content is just that. Grindy. Repetitive. BORING. Which is why after doing each one two or three times stops -me personally- from doing them any more. I'd rather have actual new content. More mission arcs. Revamp the current TF's like they did Posi's. That one's actually fun again.

And don't get me started on bases. I'd PAY MONEY for a base item pack. With stuff in it that's already in the game world and maps.
  21. Hokay. I recently had my motherboard and hard drive fry. New parts amounting to basically a new compy. Reinstalling everything...and I'm trying to find an icon replacement pack. Not Vanden's from Vidiotmaps. One that was here, in the forums. Replaced inspiration graphics and added a shiny look to power icons.

    Any help greatly appreciated.
  22. Simple answer to the question.

    No.

Reason being, I find the game's alternate animations and power customization good enough.

    Simple, yes?

  23. OBJECTIVE:
Having read through this thread, I can agree with the sonic readjustment. Also....gravity. The sound in this video would work SO much better.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BP-G...eature=related
Most of the sounds ingame are fairly good. Perhaps some evening of them, as has been suggested.

    SUBJECTIVE:
I personally haven't heard the ingame sounds in over three years. I usually turn them all the way down, and listen to my winamp. This is because I personally do not like most of them.
  24. To me, it just looks like a bunch of flash and show. I'll reserve judgement for when I can actually -experience- the content before deciding.
The track record so far for releases isn't inspiring. NEW ISSUE!! THIS'LL BE IN IT!! Then the reality. "Oh, we split the release." Not to mention new releases being buggy as all getout and breaking certain other parts of the game I already liked, but now have to wait till a fix is implemented.

I hope for the best, but plan for the worst. Just being realistic and not blinded by colorful and showy screenshots and videos.
