    Keyes strategy

Triggering the Time Freeze right after a green beam is the safe way to go. Another piece of this strategy is to get him very close to the terminal he will use for his regeneration. That way his time freeze is shorter because his travel time is shorter.

Another general tip about the green beam would be to have everyone target AM from the same side (picture a circle around AM, with everyone only on one half of the pie), then switch to the other side once the beam timer goes off, etc. It would require a lot more work and ideally with a little subgrouping for alpha and beta entanglement. I think it would be pretty neat to watch a coordinate team move like that.

It would be interesting to know whether pets in the green beam affect the badge... I would think they don't, for example you can get Midnight Dodger even though pets trigger the time bombs, why would this be different? If pets could be out, it would speed up his defeat.
  2. I made it on for the Lunaru, thanks again for running them.
  3. Thanks for the update, I'll try it out later this evening. I was first just checking in to see if it was me, but I suspected the update. I didn't intend to imply that anyone working on herostats has any duty to update, but I wasn't sure if it was something I was doing that changed. Their work is appreciated, even if it's not always recognized. Thanks guys!

    BTW, from the website: http://www.herostats.org/
    Issue 20.5 Update
    28 Jun 2011 21:30 (EST)

The latest update to the game has hit the live servers, and some changes to HeroStats are required for compatibility. The latest unstable build has been updated with these changes. Please try that version if you are having difficulties. A new stable build will be out in the next few days.
  4. Anyone else use Herostats? Is it working for you in the new release? Two days in a row, I tried to load it and it's not picking my character up.
  5. @makerian, Dr. Quaterfield Task Force [Portal Smasher] and Faathim the Kind Task Force [Slayer of Madness]. I'll bring my 51 Fortunata, Apophenia Prime.

    Thanks for hosting.
  6. I've used it on Freedom. I think I remember it being announced in game during the anniversary event, but I thought it would've been turned off (was in there last night). I was also probably the reason the prices were driven up, the canes were selling for 250k but capped out and the next low offers were around 2mil based on my creeping up price check.

On the other hand, I don't think Father time is there and giving missions, or I didn't remember where to find him when I looked yesterday...
  7. I have a 50 Fort/Widow that is now a Hero. I wanted to unlock the Hess and Katie TF contacts. Can I do this? If so, how? Is it through doing all of the OB arcs, the last one? Thanks.
  8. Yeah I came to say that the FTP links also didn't work for me. I don't have all the old official videos on this computer anymore, I didn't wanna check them out again. Good read otherwise.
  9. Two comments. At least for the League window you can dynamically resize it, making the text larger. Other windows like Chat window don't resize text on the fly. As background, I tend to run with windows detached and at minimum size. However, I do tend to run my team and league windows larger. That helps read the names a little better and see the buffs (if you choose) better too.

Second, as to 'random' team numbers. I think that occurs when teammates move in a League. For example, I tend to be the League leader. I've noticed sometimes that switching teammates after we start the iTrial, it can cause a problem where the numbers appear out of sync.

Sometimes moving someone from Team 2 to Team 1 might even insert them higher in the team list I recall (maybe based on time of invite or load into iTrial). Or when someone DCs and I toss them back into a team.

What I have noticed, however, is that if my League was:

    1 A
    2 B
    3 C
    4 D

    and then it changes to
    1 A
    2 x
    3 B
    4 C
    5 D

I can still use Shift+2 to target character B. There is something internal that doesn't register the new character setup.

All that being said, I don't have an easy system. I just try to identify someone say in position 3, 4 or 5 (depending on where I sit) so I can kind of quickly tell who is above or below.
  10. Yes, I believe that would be the correct implementation. I believe any other invite request prompts for a Yes / No choice, these should as well.
  11. It seems there is an interesting phenomenon. Most trials I've been on have been preformed. We do that because of the turnstile issues.

However, when preforming, there are two main formation problems.

1: Two leagues competing for the same pool of players.
2: Someone who wants to do a iTrial and is in LFG Queue

In the first situation, you get an error that a League leader cannot invite another League. This should be changed so that two leagues can combine as long as they under the maximum number.

Alternatively, permit League leaders to disband a league and still retain their team structures. So League leader becomes T1 leader, a T2 leader would be in a new team with all the other players in his team together, etc.

In the second situation, the person in LFG Queue may want to join a preforming group, but the League leader gets an error preventing it. League leaders should be able to invite, and doing so should kick them out of the LFG Queue.

    Thanks
  12. Resident, as was mentioned above, Marauder is weak to Psi dmg when Enraged. And you can control Lore pets. For example, you could put them in Passive | Attack My Target or Aggressive | Go To, etc. Just having them assist on Marauder should help. With the right pets, it's an additional 32 NPCs attacking Marauder for 5 minutes.
  13. Where is that rule that the mobs must be your level or higher? Or con white and higher? Is that just from play testing or is that rule in something official?
  14. I recently saw that the game has like only 50+ billion floating around. Not sure how that's possible, because I have maybe 3 of it, and I feel like I can't afford purples. Maybe they meant 500 billion or 50+ trillion.

Maybe I'll toss a little on the fire just to feel better about myself, no need to change SGs though. Good luck you inf burning maniacs.
  15. Even if you lock teams? Say, for example, you create 6 teams of 1-2 people, lock them all then Queue up. Can someone enter an 8 person iTrial when you do that?

Beef, I think the reasoning is that getting just 10 acids or just 10 temps can cut your sabotage time down significantly.

You are awarded extra time during the sabotage phase for "dual assault", which I understand to mean that you have at least 1 container and 1 crate destroyed. If you only do containers or only crates (or do all containers first, then crates), you will not be awarded extra time. And the base amount of time is around 180 seconds to get 10 objects.

For some reason, the Devs thought it was harder to get 10 objects in 3 mins (twice!) than it was to defeat a massive bag of HP with 100% S/L resistance and unstoppable. It sounds like the psi trick is out of the bag, which might make Marauder trivial, but still, it's a weird design.

That's interesting, because I don't think it's possible to earn more rewards doing LAM compared to BAF if you complete both trials successfully. I'm sure someone's done the breakdown, but it looks something like this, right?:

LAM: astral for 1 synchronized, 2 all acids, 3 all grenades, 4 defeating M

BAF: astral for 1 not overriding, 2 defeating Siege, 3 NS, 4 defeating both, 5 defeating separated, 6 defeating when no reinforcements are present, 7 completing prisoner phase, 8 no prisoners escaping

And doing Mo runs makes LAM reward even less. I don't think threads drop faster during Lambda or the reward table is weighted any higher (in fact, some people believe they receive worse rewards on LAM tables)

Nothing makes me think that there will only be two. I assume you think I believe that because I did not add a disclaimer to my post to the effect of "I know there is at least one trial in the next several months, and likely to be several more in the next several years." See my other post in this thread that preceded yours for a similar disclaimer. If I did add disclaimers anticipating people putting words in my mouth, then every post I made would have to be longer than this one. So, sometimes, silence can be misconstrued, and I apologize that you inferred I was ignorant or obtuse because I did not include some magic words that would give you insight into my worldview.

As for why do I think the developers only want us to do those two iTrials? I do think that and that could be because they introduced Alpha shard iSalvage, retrofitted a bunch of TFs to include shard iSalvage, added two new Trials in RWZ that gave shard iSalvage, created WSTs that give NotWs for shard iSalvage, and then released four more levels of incarnates that did not directly use that iSalvage and created a whole new slop of thread iSalvage that really is completely interchangeable. With reward tables, there's almost no reason (except for the few random drops for badge rewards per character) to have different C/U/R/VR iSalvage except to penalize someone's shortsightedness.

So, I assume the Devs intended to dog whistle to the community that shard iSalvage should be disregarded in favor of thread iSalvage. IF you want to be an incarnate, the reward ratio is so out of sync that there is no other sane method for quickly becoming a 53 Incarnate with T3/4s than doing iTrials to unlock and fill J/I/L/D slots. If there's a faster method, please let me know. And you might wanna let the community know too.

And maybe hundreds of players on multiple servers are wrong. But within days, coop zones like RWZ and PD have been flooded with players hanging around, doing iTrials. Maybe the Devs were completely surprised that players were smart enough not to penalize themselves by earning shard iSalvage and converting and instead chose the path of least resistance and have been farming 2 iTrials over and over for weeks now. Thanks to such farming, my 3 incarnates have multiple T3/4s for every slot. Between my 3 characters, I need less than 600 pieces of thread iSalvage to make 20 T4s each on all 3 characters. That's pretty efficient and I think I'm not the only one that realized this is a gift horse.

I'm a loyal and long time paying customer. I get they need to datamine, I get they needed to add new content. It's just funny that even Apex and Tin Mage weren't included in that design for iTrials, and neither were all the alpha component TFs. If I were going to wait 7 years to release incarnates, I would try to prep the field with more content at least. The 'long anticipated endgame', turns out to be 2 missions for 3 months, then 1-2 more missions for 3 months, etc. If you don't find that funny, well we can agree to disagree about what we find funny in the world.

Once the new missions do come out, finding a BAF or LAM will happen, but I suspect it will be less often, particularly if they open up a whole new slop of iSalvage for the next 4 levels, and maybe even another slop for the last 1 level. But more importantly, I imagine it will happen less often because people will have become numb to running them and eagerly ready to farm new content over and over.

I do know from hearsay that there are still people who do other content in the game. I've in fact even run some WSTs in the past month and done some tips, helped a few people out of tight missions, and earned a few badges outside of iTrials.

PS, It's probably all the strobe lights in PD getting to me. I've taken to sipping brews with the felines on the redside when I'm forming iTrials to avoid epileptic fits.

This is also becoming a thread derail, as it is more off topic than my original post, which did try to address the OP. If you want to discuss it with me, send me a PM. Thanks.
  19. NOTE: Date change to Friday night instead. I have company coming Saturday and may not be able to make it on. Not many bites here on the forums, so I imagine most of the recruiting will be done in PD1/2 or Freedom TF channel. See y'all then.

I'm looking for more players that are interested in doing some MoLAM runs for the badges.

My only requirement is that you have a T3/4 Seer Lore pet, and at least one of those pets are attacking pets, ideally both.

    There are 6 T3/4 Seers:
    Total Core Improved Ally
    Partial Core Improved Ally
    Partial Radial Improved Ally
    Total Radial Improved Ally
    Core Superior Ally
    Radial Superior Ally

Of those 6, I believe these are the 2 that summon two attacking Seers (will verify tonight):
    Partial Radial Improved Ally
    Core Superior Ally

    01. Arbiter Makerian, @makerian, T4 Core Superior Ally
    02. LegacyX, @LegacyX, UNK
    03. Ever Spiney, @Ever Spiney, UNK
    04. Lieran (maybe)
    05. Trix (maybe)
    06. Morna (maybe)
    07.
    08.
    09.
    10.
    11.
    12.
    13.
    14.
    15.
    16.

The mission will be run a little differently than normal. Because we will be running this three times, we will run a more minimalist iTrial, at least for the first run.

1: Clear between hospital and door to enter, including any extras until we can go inside.
    2: Clear inside, skip turrets
    3: Defeat security team
4a: 1st run, get all acids and grenades
4b: 2nd run, get all acids, no grenades
4c: 3rd run, get no acids, all grenades
5: summon seers, buff teams/seers, go outside and target seers on Marauder while we thin mobs down a bit
    6: profit

One thing I've been doing more is leaving one sabotage object alive so we can buff then, it avoids wasting time during the cutscene. So, for example, the first container is saved until last and everyone groups there, summons, buffs, then destroys. Same for a grenade only run. On a grenade and acid run, I prefer the container, it's more isolated than the first crate.

If you're interested, please take the time to acquire the Seer attack pets and let me know the following:

    Name, Global, type of Seer

    Thanks!

BTW, has the new patch fixed the lag? I wanna do a Hami raid too, maybe I'll start slow indulging in some LAM/BAF tonight and move to a mellow MSR before gorging on a Hami this weekend.

Here's to "Removed the filtering of league-wide buffs from Patch 1 which was causing additional server processing"!
  21. My fort uses 8 PB/AOE powers, only 3-4 ST (maybe I pop confuse on someone just because I'm trying to use all my powers) and ML and 6 toggles.

I almost exclusively use my long animation aoes until I narrow it down to a single target like a lone Marauder or spawn-free NS/Siege.

Yeah luck I think is part of it, and my VRs seem less frequent than in the beginning, so there's that, too.

I did believe there's an additional weighting to it. Maybe I just want to believe.
  22. Well to be fair, I said "The Devs enshrined it for incarnates" Of course, no one is requiring anyone to become an incarnate. Not only have I deleted most of my characters, only 3 of the remaining 6 have more than alpha unlocked. I feel no compulsion to incarnate the other 3, and don't feel forced at all in that regard by the Devs.

However, if I do want to get J/I/L/D slots unlocked, I can either go with the herd and farm the same two trials ad nauseum or not.

I do know they are working on 1 imminent and then several more upcoming trials. They had a great system with Shard TFs (and added Apex and TM too), it's a shame they narrowed down the playing fields for those on the incarnate path by excluding them from the thread rewards and reward tables.

If someone's a soloist, I feel their pain. The iTrial method has been good to me. In under 150 Trials, I've made dozens of T3/T4s on my 3 incarnates, and at least all T3s in each slot for each of my incarnates. I've converted Astrals and Empyreans with abandon and get good drops overall. Any non iTrial would be, for me, agonizing and lonely, like saving up 2 billion inf for a single enhancement by just soloing the game instead of marketeering or farming in groups.

I'm not hating the gated content, I do think it is funny. Thousands of missions available, and the hundreds of people that I see are only doing 2 of them.

Hint: add Incarnate difficulty options to old content (and penalize non-incarnates in those teams similar to ATF/TMTF) as opposed to adding new levels and in lieu of rushing out new trials.
  23. Does anyone have any theories why my Fortunata does so well on trials? I have 3 incarnates, a fort/widow, blaster, and corruptor. The Blaster has done more trials, but received, on average, worse rewards. My corruptor has received the worst rewards. My fort has received the best, including over 30 Rares and 10 VRs.

Of course luck could be involved. But I'm curious if it could be something else.

Anyone else having great 'luck' with their Fort (or other SoA) builds?

Note: My Fort tends to be a League leader, which may have something to do with it, but that's pretty much the same for all 3 characters.
  24. Leandro, does he go down in 5 minutes fast? Meaning, could 16 people summon the Seers in the very beginning or should they still wait til later? I'd like to know what you mean by fast.
  25. What's funny to me is that players voluntarily gated content down to PL for years. Now the Devs have essentially given us a path for expedited rewards and gated the content down to two single missions. Yes there is an alternate path, but who is masochistic enough to upconvert shards to open J/I/L/D slots and buy C/U/R/VR components for J/I/L/D slots at the penalized conversion rate? If such players exist, I pray for their sanity.

I suppose there were players that complained then about player-initiated gated content, and players that complain now about developer-initiated gated content.

Rather than discouraging the idea of repetitive farming of single missions, the Devs enshrined it for incarnates. So now you can get your AE/PL baby to 50 by farming a single mission and then get your first 5 incarnate slots in a couple more mission farms.

I do hope this was done primarily for the purpose of extensive data mining rather than lack of resources to create trials.
