Being a leader probably has nothing to do with it.
However since the reward system measures 'participation' highly based on 'activity' (ie, number of buttons pressed per time period), widows being fast-attacking single target-oriented characters will make them appear to be very highly active to the system.
That system isn't supposed to improve your rewards other than qualifying you for a random roll in the first place... however, my widow has also gotten the best reward rate of any character played by myself or any of my personal friends who've shared their incarnate drop situations with me, with no attempts to intentionally manipulate the system. We could, of course, just both be lucky. And we probably are. In under 10 days I got my widow to 4 very rares... making me the only person in my immediate circle of close friends to have more than 2.
But I have a lot of suspicions about the quintuple-secret-probation system they've got running for trial rewards. Unless and until they make it highly transparent I'll probably stay suspicious of it.

My fort uses 8 PB/AOE powers, only 3-4 ST (maybe I pop confuse on someone just because I'm trying to use all my powers) and ML and 6 toggles.
I almost exclusively use my long animation aoes until I narrow it down to a single target like a lone Marauder or spawn-free NS/Siege.
Yeah luck I think is part of it, and my VRs seem less frequent than in the beginning, so there's that, too.
I did believe there's an additional weighting to it. Maybe I just want to believe.
My crab's pulled more purples than my other 2 main Incarnates - which I think is hilarious, given my Crab only hit 50 in February. Mob Melting FTW.

Does anyone have any theories why my Fortunata does so well on trials? I have 3 incarnates, a fort/widow, blaster, and corruptor. The Blaster has done more trials, but received, on average, worse rewards. My corruptor has received the worst rewards. My fort has received the best, including over 30 Rares and 10 VRs.
Of course luck could be involved. But I'm curious if it could be something else.
Anyone else having great 'luck' with their Fort (or other SoA) builds?
Note: My Fort tends to be a League leader, which may have something to do with it, but that's pretty much the same for all 3 characters.
