Has the way you target allies changed since the team interface changed?
The numbers in the team list are really freakin' small now. It's pretty frustrating, I agree, but there's not much you can do about it.
What's worse is the league window. I have the same numpad binds you do, but if I try using them while showing the league list, the teammate that gets selected is practically random. It doesn't seem to have much relationship to the order the names are presented. #1 tends to correctly stay the team leader, and my own position tends to be the correct number, but everyone else is weird, unless I'm looking at the team window instead.

Two comments. At least for the League window you can dynamically resize it, making the text larger. Other windows like Chat window don't resize text on the fly. As background, I tend to run with windows detached and at minimum size. However, I do tend to run my team and league windows larger. That helps read the names a little better and see the buffs (if you choose) better too.
Second, as to 'random' team numbers. I think that occurs when teammates move in a League. For example, I tend to be the League leader. I've noticed sometimes that switching teammates after we start the iTrial, it can cause a problem where the numbers appear out of sync.
Sometimes moving someone from Team 2 to Team 1 might even insert them higher in the team list I recall (maybe based on time of invite or load into iTrial). Or when someone DCs and I toss them back into a team.
What I have noticed, however, is that if my League was:
1 A
2 B
3 C
4 D
and then it changes to
1 A
2 x
3 B
4 C
5 D
I can still use Shift+2 to target character B. There is something internal that doesn't register the new character setup.
All that being said, I don't have an easy system. I just try to identify someone say in position 3, 4 or 5 (depending on where I sit) so I can kind of quickly tell who is above or below.
I have great trouble too working out what number the middle team mates are for healing and buffing and such.
I think the devs have amazing big screens. Or great eyes. They don't seem bothered when font size goes small.
I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.
Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.
So sad to be ending ):
Well, it's good to know I'm not alone. Perhaps I'll experiment with using the mouse to select. Thanks to all who replied for your feedback!
I also noticed that sometimes the normal Shift+# select of a teammate doesn't give the right one on the league interface, which I keep open because some powers will work on league mates as well as teammates. I'm hoping they fix that one, so the team order in the team window matches the league window matches the normal Shift select of teammates.
When I'm just buffing down the line, say putting shields on everyone, I just run through the numbers as normal and don't mind if they skip around. When that teammate needs an emergency heal, or a rez, or something like that I often need to use the mouse to select though, or else hit several keys quickly till it selects the one I want, so I haven't found a great way to handle it. For someone on another team in the league, its definitely mouse.
Plus I have to remember which powers I can use on who; Vengeance I can only use on a teammate, but I can Rez someone on another team, so that adds a bit of complication.
I've never used the team mate numbers, but then again, I don't use binds.
What I do use is in Options, I set the "Show Player Health Bars = Always". This way, I can keep a more 'heads up' view of what's going on instead of being totally focused on the Team window. Of course, if the damage is coming in heavy, I may switch to monitoring the Team window and play wack-a-mole until things ease up. But generally, I like to keep an overview of how the fights are going and use what controls I have to help manage the aggro or enemy repositioning. It's also easier to watch over other players not on my team.
Teams are the number one killer of soloists.
I have the numbers 1 - 8 on my numeric keypad bound to select team members 1 -8. Playing my sonic/pain corr, I got very used to looking at the numbers on the team list, and then just hitting that number, when I wanted to get to a teammate fast or use a power on them. Now, I can no longer see the numbers on the team list. I've tried both new and legacy interfaces; finally settled on 'new' as I do think it's pretty, and I wasn't able to see the numbers in the 'not really legacy' interface any better.
But I'm wondering if any of you other healer/buffer types have had to change the way you work in response to the interface change. And also, do you happen to have any tips for me, i.e. do you use the mouse to select your teammate? Is there some other trick I'm not privy to? Thanks for any feedback you have to offer.
I'm finding this change is really slowing me down though. I just don't seem to be able to make the mental correlation quickly enough to figure out that that dropping health or end bar belongs to the 1...2...3...4th person on the list. Okay...so maybe this is a problem with my brain and not the interface, I'll admit that.
