Is there such a thing as a bad scrapper?
-
Ok- now that I read it is a fire/regen, I still say cold dom. That or maybe even therm. Regen obviously shouldn't need to much on the straight up heals side of things, so I would think adding mitigation via some good ST ally buffs would be notable.
-
One of the only things /Fiery aura is short on out of the box is defense. Well, several things, but adding defense will make the biggest boost. Cold domination adds this, plus useful debuffs when fighting big baddies. I wouldn't really suggest forcefields, because it generally lacks the utility of cold domination.

Quote:If you want to bind transfusion to Q- hit this:" /bind Q powexec_name transfusion"That is some good advice. It seems I am on the right track then. Building her for support and not dmg so much.
Enjoying both sets so far, and don't see it really changing.
Goldracer any idea how I would actually bind those keys? Because that sounds handy.
Thanks a lot everybody.
Bashful Banshee.
If you want to bind SB to E, hit this "/bind E powexec_name Speed Boost"
Me personally, I did binds for several of my kin powers. I bound transfusion to H for heal, S for Speed boost, J for Jump (Inertial Reduction), and P for fulcrum shift. I also set up numpad 1-8 for my teammates. SB-ing the team got a whole lot easier after that. -
Oh great- another one of these threads.

You could just use Science booster pack to be able to change genders and size and have 5 completely different looks. Furthermore, you could also go and create tons of other looks and save so that you have a library of other skins.
Keep in mind- shapeshifting is a power, but it is not offensive in nature, so I wouldn't limit concepts by tying it in to any AT or powerset. While Mystique is a shapeshifter, the comic version of her would be akin to a Assault rifle or dual pistol blaster. Movie versions would be a Martial arts user with willpower or something. -
I am not seeing a valid comparison. It isn't like this is a comparison between DP for Corrs and DP for blasters. You are talking about powersets that are patently different. Moreover, you are comparing a summon set to a blast set. Of course they're going to feel different. It would be a pretty sad state of affairs if the powersets all felt the same. If you like DS- great there is a whole community of people that like it too. If you don't like DP, you are hardly alone there.

Don't limit yourself to playing just one character. This game is built around being alt-friendly. Why not make a scrapper and a brute? I prefer melee, and I love both scrappers and brutes and I have tons of both.
I would also remind you that tankers and brutes have been able to team for quite some time in co-op zones, so there won't be to much change. I doubt it will be game breaking dynamics, because (unlike what many people believe) brutes are not tankers. -
Quote:QFT.The size of the map and the density of a +2/8/BossesOn ensures your going to be wiped. I've never ran Nem' successfully with my SS/SD. I'm not sure if you have personally attempted this, but if you had I'm sure you'd rescind that advice.

Rattler- if you can show us a video of a SS/SD ripping through a nem farm and staying alive, I will admit you are right. However, I have taken my own SS/SD to a nem farm on a couple of occasions, and got all kinds of new holes ripped. The simple fact of the matter is that Nem farms will always shred a defense based secondary to ribbons. Yes, my shielder is beyond softcapped on his own, and with a dollop of resists for good measure. -
I have a stormie named lolgale on freedom. Good stuff.

I would roll the ice/storm troller. All of the rest of those toons can basically already be made on redside with the exception of that one.

Quote:This answer is great. I personally hope that corruptors never get FF. The set is good enough, but I would still take a cold corr over a theoretical force field corr. In my eyes, cold dom just brings more to the table.Simplest answer? Look at the name of the archetype. Every single corruptor secondary has a way to 'corrupt' (see: weaken, debuff, compromise, etc.) their enemies. Forcefield doesn't do this. Every set that's been adapted to corruptors has exchanged something for debuffs...it's what the AT does.
The closest things are /cold (for defense) or /sonic (for the big status bubble and team buffs) Will the devs take the time to tweak forcefields to suit the debuffy nature of corruptors? Not sure, when they'd end up with something like these. -
If you are only farming nem, go for weave. I disagree that the power is worthless in pve entirely, though. The -recharge protection offered is still better than nothing, and the power is still a great IO mule.

In a toss up between ss/wp and ss/sa, I would go willpower any day. Willpower has versatility that stone lacks. Sure, both can be built on the high cost end to be complete beasts, but willpower takes the cake. This is just my personal opinion, but after everything is said and done, having QR, insane Regeneration, decent resists and good defense, and not looking like a rock quarry is more on par with my playstyle. Of course, stone armor lends some fun concepts, but I think willpower is more flexible in just about every area.
-
I love cold domination. As a brute, it brings so much to the table. At higher levels, it buffs defense, debuffs enemies, and adds end recovery. Aside from making one look a little silly, it is probably my favorite secondary on a corruptor.
-
I don't think there will be many if any changes to EM. Kinda goes back to the cottage rule, and you would be tearing that whole cottage down with the changes you are proposing. EM is just bad now. It is beyond salvage. The only thing you can do is just wait to see what Kinetic Melee will bring to the table.

Hehe, yeah, perhaps it is my regular server, but I rarely see energy Blasters. Fire is the most common, then it splits off to archery, ice, and the new flavor of DP. But admittedly, I don't do much blue stuff to start.
-
Quote:Great info- one question though. Is this information confirmed? I will probably redeem my SS/SD if he can, in fact, go to the Blue APP pools.Even if you do you can always respec into the AAP: Power Mastery for the +recovery when GR releases. Foot Stomp with FF proc is more than enough an AoE imo.
A quick point, didn't the Freak' farm get nerfed? And last I heard FM/SD for a scrapper is a big bank buster. I hope you pick the right one!

I have never seen a single energy blast corrupter. I don't see many energy blast users on blueside either. Elec is uncommon as well, but I have one myself (for concept's sake).
-
I disagree here. When was the last time you took any shield defense character onto a Nem farm? They slice through defense like hot butter. Sure, capped defense has its way of making one untouchable, but there are (thankfully) mobs that keep it from being overpowered and completely unstoppable. A good /FA build with strong resists, good defense and a fast heal offers multilayered mitigation and versatility that you might bot be able to find in a SD build.
-
You have to take into consideration what enemy types you are playing against. I have and love both my /SD and my /FA, but if I am going against Nemesis, I would never take my /SD into the fray. I think both are WOMD, but they both have different flavors. I say make one of both and alternate!
-
Start your savings- neither of those is particularly inexpensive to set up for farming. Don't be discouraged, both will be fun and faster to farm than your SS/WP, but it doesn't come cheaply.
-
I don't know how viable either one of those builds will be with common IOs to farm with. Keep in mind, SS/WP is farmable on common IOs, but neither /SD or /FA is to the same degree. Not saying it can't be done, but they will not be sturdy without a sizable investment.
