Also, if you previously bought GR and aren't a VIP you no longer have access to Demon Summoning or Dual Pistols. With the incarnate system there's at least the argument that it wasn't technically part of GR, but those powersets were. That, I think, is a little ridiculous.

I don't think you'll want to go with anything other than Reactive unless you've got very specific build requirements. There are few things more useful than -res and extra damage in the current PvP system.

I am pretty sure DP/Dev is the worst Blaster combo for PvP out there (DP/Ice might be worse, actually, but at least that has Build Up).

And there are only a few factories in the world that can produce the aluminum unibody necessary for something of the Air's caliber, and Apple's got those factories booked up.

Quote:Don't forget Hydra-Os!
- TO = Training Origin - the ones you see for most of the early game up to about Lvl 20
- DO = Dual Origin - the ones you start buying from the origin-specific stores in Steel Canyon and such. Lvl 15 and up. Locked to either of two origins (e.g., a Tech/Natural DO can only be used by Tech or Natural origin toons). Twice as effective as TOs.
- SO = Single Origin - the ones you start slotting at Lvl 22 to give you the best boosts. Locked to a specific character origin (e.g., Tech SOs can only be used by Tech origin toons). Twice as effective as DOs.
- HO = Hamidon Origin - super mega enhancements you get from completing the Hamidon Raid. About 50% better than SOs, and give more than just one type of buff (i.e., Acc/Dmg).
- IO = Invention Origin - the kind you craft and that never "expire" no matter what level you become. Effectiveness is dependent on the level of the IO though. The ones that come from "special" recipes provide extra bonuses if you slot more than one of them in a power (called set bonuses).

Quote:Every Intel-based Mac can run Snow Leopard, which means the newest machines that cannot run it were released in late 2006 so they're now 5+ years old. In the computer world, five years is a long time. Apple's generally very good about supporting older hardware with newer OS and software releases, but there's a point in time at which it's no longer practical to support older hardware, and the simplest way to keep your codebase from becoming a buggy, convoluted mess is to drop support for old architectures and simply move on.Yes, Leopard was only released on October 26, 2007 and already it's useless. In contrast, Windows XP was released on August 24, 2001, over 10 years ago. Machines running it are still able to play City of Heroes and use almost any other Windows software out there.
There are several reasons Windows is bloated, buggy, and crash-prone, one of which is Microsoft's insistence on adding layer upon layer of legacy support. That's also, strangely enough, one of the reasons Windows 7 is much more stable than Windows XP and Vista were - it got rid of a lot of the underlying legacy crap and started fresh. Sure, people will complain because app X or game Y doesn't work like it used to but it's a very, very rare case where you can't find a more modern version of the same or similar application that runs just fine.
Anyways, your insistence that the ability to use a 10-year-old OS as your primary, everyday OS is a good thing is laughable. No one should be running a 10-year-old OS as their main OS, especially not one like Windows XP. -
Quote:Okay, find me a non-Apple equivalent to the Macbook Air - in terms of size and power - at the same price point. I'll save you the time and effort searching and tell you you can't. There's a reason Intel's handing free money to OEMs to build their 'ultrabooks.'Edit: To the Mac zealots claiming I lack technical knowledge: Your assignment is to take $650 and try to find a Mac that has a second generation Core i5 processor, 6 gigs of ram, 750 gig hard drive and a Geforce 525M graphics processor with 1 gig of dedicated video memory. When you find a Mac with that much power, post the price for everyone to see.

Why on earth would you roll a Brute when the same Scrapper will give you far superior performance? If it's already 50 that's one thing but if you're just starting from scratch I wouldn't waste your time with a Brute.

What hardware are you running on? I'm not having this issue on my mid-2007 MacBook (though my framerate is so low it might as well be nonexistent).

Oh, what the hell. I'm getting my desktop soon so I guess I'll actually be able to run the game.

Quote:I haven't seen anything in patch notes but I know that it got fixed in I18 beta and then immediately broke again before the final release. Haven't played my widow in forever though.Correct.
Anyone know if the Widow Indom Will still suppresses when mezzed?
Quote:So a power that has a mag of 47.1 would that be enough to knock back a blaster with 47 prot??
If you've got permadom, then no, but that's more or less impossible now so you're going to want to build a Dom just like any other squishy these days. -

Well, obviously if you're one of the powersets that has built-in KB protection you won't need any (Elec Armor is the exception here - it offers KB protection but not KB resistance, and only while on the ground, so you'll want to add Acro + a bunch on top of Grounded). If you're a ranged AT or a Spider you'll need to build for KB protection. Acro will give you 9 points base (enhanced up to 11 but generally not worth it) and you'll want to put in some Karmas and Steadfasts to get yourself to at least 41 points and preferably 45-47 points. 41 will stop anything short of Force Bolt or other high-mag KB powers if they're weirdly slotted but I don't know that anything will get through 47 points.

/EA works great, if you enjoy sitting in the base waiting until Overload's recharged. It was good for like one issue when elusivity was set too high, and now it's merely okay. As it stands it's like having almost no secondary at all but with the changes that might be better though the heal's going to be on too long a timer to be useful. WP and Nin are better secondaries.

Quote:While I think this is mostly true I've also noticed that non-PvPers have really really bad ideas for PvP and then run off crying when they're told exactly how bad their ideas are.the most common trope you encounter in these discussions is that pvpers have a bad attitude, are jerks, trolls, meanies, blah blah blah and so they turn people off to pvp and slow the pace of development.
The stereotype about PvPers is a little ridiculous, especially because most of the PvPers I know also happen to be some of the smartest, most helpful, and best PvEers in this game as well. -
