(I21) Tabbing out/in?

All,

Every time I tab out and then tab back in, the graphics go crazy and I'm basically screwed. Usually this takes the form of a blank screen, or a crazy flashing/flickering screen on which nothing is drawn. I can still hear my character in the game with ambient sounds and stuff going on around me but I am boned, pan fried, and served at that point. That forces me to do apple-alt-esc (or since I use a windows kbd its win-alt-esc anyway) to kill the process and restart the app.

Anyone else been having this issue since I21? It never happened prior to that.

What hardware are you running on? I'm not having this issue on my mid-2007 MacBook (though my framerate is so low it might as well be nonexistent).

I had that problem in Issue 19-20, where tabbing out of the client would whack the graphics completely.

Since upgrading to OS X 10.7 Lion however, I have *NOT* been having that problem at all, and I certainly haven't had any problems doing Command-Tab to other applications in Issue 21 (now on 10.7.1 of Lion).

It's the end. But the moment has been prepared for ...

I dont remember what hardware I have, and I am not home now. Hope I remember to check.

Can't comment on how to solve the problem but in the meantime cmd-enter will put your game into windowed mode and that may be a temporary workaround. It doesn't work during loading screens however. So catch it while the screen is still black or you'll have to wait for the load to finish. Some players find that CoH is more stable overall run in this mode.

This. I used to have issues where tabbing in and out would bork the graphics (though, I would get a pretty swath of colors) but putting the game into windowed mode always fixed it.

Haven't had that trouble lately, though.

everything runs fine whether windowed or full screen, until i open safari, and run in windowed mode, then, if i tab over to safari- like when looking up exploration badges(using http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki ) ... when i go back to my CoH screen, the graphics freeze up, this never used to happen. It certainly makes looking for exploration badges tedious, as i have to write everything down, THEN log into CoH, to get it all done.

The graphics freeze up, the game is still running happily otherwise, after a split second of coming back to CoH from safari window.

I had that problem with the previous issue. Seems to be working fine with 21, though. Only advice I ever had was "don't tab out, cause you aren't getting back in."

Someone claimed it would work OK when you where on a 2D screen. Try opening up your character's ID card, and then tabbing out and in.
