stalkers vs spiders

i really do not understand why the developers would allow a archtype like spiders to be able to see stalkers, especially in pvp zones, i just recently started to play a stalker for pvp and its pretty fun up until a single spider on hero side comes to the zone, then i do not see why i should be there anymore, i know stalkers invis can be annoying at some but the developers spacificly made it to be good while hidden and bellow average when not hidden, so when a spider comes and takes invis away your stuck with a underdeveloped scrapper with no taunt

the stalker i use has stealth, hide, celerity and even a 25% stealth buff from my sg base and with all that a spider can see through all that, do you believe this needs to be changed in pvp zones? stalkers as it is arnt really that good out of hide, its not fair to take that away from them as well

There is no reason to play a VEAT other than being able to see stalkers. VEAT damage is terrible, comparably a Fortunata does less damage with their ranged attack chain than a psi defender does. Also having a secondary dedicated to defenses in pvp is like having no secondary at all, unless you really know what you're doing.

A VEAT can see a stalker from 100ft if you're at the stealth cap and they're at the perception cap. It isn't like they can see you clear across the zone. Once you see an enemy VEAT prepare to drop them first, you can still easily get the element of surprise.

If you are elec/, /regen, or any set with a defensive tier 9, you should be able to go toe to toe with a VEAT and at minimum escape before death. If not, you're doing it wrong.

VEAT's are easy to deal with in zones, especially if there is just one. Hit them with placate before you do anything and they get to stand there and watch you AS someone. Its up every 15-20 seconds so you have a tool that will near permanently keep them off you. As a stalker you should be hit and run anyway. Get your AS off, get out. Back into hide and get ready to placate them again. By then it should be just about charged anyway.

Rather than dive right in to AS a target, you just have to keep an eye on what else is out there. There are usually only a handful of people who play VEAT's, seldom are their more than one at any one time and not all of them are even spec for stalker hunting.

I've never run into a good one in RV that I haven't been able to AS or AS another target right in front of them.

Yeah? You sure you don't mean 2 years ago or something? I play in RV almost daily on Freedom, don't recall seeing that toon around in recent memory. Thanks for the random assessment though.

I play a crab spider (3holepunch). It doesn't do great dmg but it's very effective on a team. To deal with stalkers all you really need to do is knock them out of hide and then you're dealing with a sub-par scrapper. If they don't have phase up it's pretty easy to web and then ts them long enough for the team to get a kill.

I wouldn't play one as a solo damage dealer, but on a team they offer good disruption and debuffs and are good at shutting down stalkers.

I think I've seen you around. I'm not an RV regular because zone PvP is pretty lolz with HD and TS. For some reason I want to say your VEAT is redside, so I don't think I'd have stalked against it. That being said, you are dealing with RV stalkers, which are probably as bad as if not worse than RV VEAT's or Scrappers or any other melee character you find in the zone.

The situation you described deals with bad stalkers trying to AS (or more than likely shark) a target, a decent stalker will tab targets if he knows their are VEAT's out there, target you first, quickly close the gap and hit you with placate *then* go AS their target while you get to watch them in full hide for 10 seconds. But really I've never seen another RV stalker do that, so in most cases you probably do fine out there.

You right. I haven't been in RV since my ladder team fell apart almost exactly a year ago to the day. There hasn't been a single change to PvP (change or bug fix) since I stopped playing, so what's the point?

A properly built VEAT should provide disruption, while still contributing on spikes in a team setting. Leading with shatter armor on a spike is hell to heal through if properly timed.

veats also have crap resists. bring a few reds and a few yellows and you can easily two-shot most of the baddies playing veats in this game.

Crabs have Fortification and Serum (hello 2000HP).

Yup, i love my Crab, and to be honest, it is one of the better ones around and the best toon i have, closely followed by my SS/WP Tank.
I rarely saw them, till i focused and finished mine. Now they are crawling out the woodwork asking for tips.
My HP is 1517, and with serum it's well over 2k HP.

Going on point...
We have natural leadership pool, plus we can take that power pool too, meaning we have dual Leadership, and can get our perception up pretty high.
I've seen stalkers, i have fought Stalkers in RV.
Best way to get past the Placate, use AoE attacks like Omega Maneuver and Frenzy, if you're solo. If they are in a team, position yourself so that the stalker is taking damage from your AoE powers like Suppression and Venom Grenade too.

i Play a Nin/Nin stalker that i am setting up for PvP right now im doing bloody bay, i play on champion all the time so i dont see many players, but i have noticed that almost all the crabs that i hav seen are still villians so i dont have to worry about them spotting me, but what i like to do to targets that are either by them selves or in pairs is AS one then placate the AS again, usually that will kill anything i come across, but what hero type class should i worry about since ive never fought a spider/VEAT (im assuming this is a term for all crab spiders)

The path of Villainy is an arduous one, but one that must be tread because without it there would be no heroes, and what would the world be like without either. So for all those heroes out there I chose Villainy.

Crabs also have mediocre damage and no knockback protection to speak of. I'm much more worried about Banes and Forts than Crabs.
