Quote:Yes...? (Grins)It seems to mostly be blasters and stalkers that get left out.
Can anyone say with a straight face that a team of 6 def/cor/cont and 2 brutes/scrappers dont whip through content faster and easier than just about any other possible combination.
But seriously, I am an ITF a holic, my usual broadcast over freedom badge/tf channels is "50 ITF Looking for Melee and Buffs/Debuffs PST" granted I do not care what level one 50 to lead is all that matters. -
Quote:Yeah I figured I'd go with a beta driver for the helll of it and went over to guru3d and downloaded that version and after (FINALLY) getting my resolutions and refresh rates set I seem to have fixed the problem with the stuttering and ( an unrelated fuzziness in text).I had a similar issue on a GTX 280, and running Windows 7 x64. I also tested on a friend's machine with GTX 480s, and saw it occur there as well. It was immediately noticeable using Flashfire with my fire/kinetics controller, and in many other situations where there were large amounts of enemies, or on teams with a lot of effects. This occured across many driver versions, up to 258.96. However, after loading the beta drivers 260.63, the issue has completely vanished. Give it a try, and see if there's any difference on your end.
So I've learned refresh rates will screw with scaling on screen and clarity of characters. Thanks all for your informative help. -
I deleted and redownloaded the client as well as removed my video drivers and update to new ones. I also disabled real time in the Microsoft Security Essentials. and it seems to have fixed my stuttering..for now.

I'm getting stuttering, too. Ihave a GTX 260nvidia card, core i7 intel 2.6 ghz, 6 gigs ddr3, and raptor hard drive.
Attempting to disable chat logging when iget home. I downloaded a new install of the client last noght as well as new drivers. Anytime there were AoEs or lots of animations my framerate would drop from 70ish to as low as t fps.
My netgraph was clear as I can tell. After I reinstalled windows 7 64 bit, the gameplay was smooth, it's all of a sudden gotten worse. Hopefully I can resolve it.
*sidenote* I booted into my install of Mac OS X and gamed for about 30 mins with no stuttering or netgraph blips.I'm on a 10 meg cable connection (non-wireless) -
I already have em/shield, elec/shield, km/shield, mace/shield, ss/shield Brutes. Yeah the debuffs are going to be wasted a bit, but I can't softcap to all typed defense only smash/lethal, and energy/neg energy and the debuffs in dark (-to hit) and the debuffs in ice (slow/recharge/dmg) aren't purely beneficial to me, they help the team as well. The way I built it the 1000 pt heal should be perma, along with the small heal in siphon life.
Trying to find something fun and effective, if possible. I've deleted all my other tanks, they bore me. Maybe this will be different, as in fun. -
One person suggested it was A real time scanning anti virus program, microsoft security essentials, which I use. Trying adding an exception (or turning off real time protection all together) after my new download I'll post here the results.

Yeah, the only other operating system I have installed on the same box is Mac OS X and I experienced no loss of framerate like I did in heavy activity in windows gaming. I'm attempting to completely delete and redownload the windows client now. I find it odd did I did not have any issues running mac osx (even though it's installed on non apple hardware....umm wtf?

My Video drivers are up to date and I'm not set up for super high detail settings. I've been watching my /showfps and /netgraph 1 . The netgraph has been steady but the framerate drops tremendously when AoEs or lots of animations are enabled. I am using an Nvidia GTX 260 on a Intel core i7 920.
Any insight is helpful. Thanks -
I'm getting some "Stuttering" during AoEs or when lots of animations are going off, my framerate is dropping very low at the same time..anyone else have/had this problem?
I'm thinking it is something on my end not server lag, per se.
Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue. Any information/insight is appreciated. -
World of confusion on my dom is "overpowering" mobs in game. Is anyone else experiencing this. As far as I know that is a controller inherent.
-
I admittedly do not much like tankers, but am considering a real go at this build, any advice/insight would be great. Thanks.

Quote:I appreciate you looking at it, here is a refined version of the build. The empty slots are for Force Feedback +recharges. Those Purples just aren't worth the cost IMO. I *probably should frankenslot Footstomp but ehh. Decided to drop Laser beam eyes and go with Torrent for some mitigation/Aoe. Thanks for the look-see.It's good, but my problem is your slotting.
Just go whole hog.
Get 5x Armageddon's including the proc, + FF Proc.
If that's too much for you, then just frankenslot the other four pieces.
For example:
Oblit quad & triple +
Scirocco Acc/Dam/End +
Multi-Strik Dam/End/Rech
Armageddon Proc
FF Proc
Better slotting across the board, suffering only -19% rech from your slotting - which costs you 0.7 s rech on footstomp itself.
But now it hits a bit harder and costs 4.5 end less per activation.
A few other points, your build has no room in it for slotting Health. Not only does this deprive you of valuable regen, it also deprives you of slotting both the miracle & numi procs at the same time - invaluable for an SS build of any stripe.
As SR you should have gone for Gaussian's in Rage to cut down on needing sets with defense bonuses.
You can take 2 slots out of Super Speed, droping BoTZ, and add those to Rage and now you only need 1 slot to get gaussian's in there (and you gained more def than you had in both ranged and AoE and moved melee up another 2.5%)
Neither Weave nor dodge need 4 slots each, that +ACC bonus is uneeded with Rage and your overall slotting. So that's two more slots, which means you can 6 slot rage with Gaussian's now.
That means you can drop ToD from Haymaker and add another 5 piece crushing impact set for more rech.
You should drop the Def/Rech Kismet from CJ for a 5th LoTG 7.5. That 0.03% recovery really is not doing very much (if you're curious, it adds 0.02 EPS recovery)
Pull 1 Rech out of Practiced Brawler since it's already perma, add that slot to hasten.
Just some ideas.

One thing I cannot stress enough is the joy I get from the Force Feedback proc AND the Armageddon +chance for fire damage in footstomp, you WILL proc an extra 100+ pts of damage on top of the smash from footstomp and because it's an AOE the procs will go off a tremendous amount of the time. Remember, super reflexes is a very loose build to get softcapped so have fun with it and throw some extra goodness in there.
(edit to clarify)
IF you have your mid's patched for inherent fitness this is what I'll be doing with mine after it's live. My live build is very similar to this now.Be Interested in what you all think if you have the time as well hehe.

Quote:I don't really like Willpower that much, at least not with Super Strength. I tried it to level 40 already. As for the Electric Armor suggestion, I dont really like resist sets very much. They just aren't my thing.
But I'm definitely interested in all comments, especially on tweaks to the existing build. I'll read them and consider them all.
Thanks!
Lewis
I"m right there with you I don't like resist sets. I like set it and forget it.
I have mine setted out with accolades at 1911 hp and softcapped, it's one of my favorites, that and ss/shield. -
I love mine. I have never liked Willpower. I've got about 70ish base recharge on mine without hasten and it's good fun. IF* you finish building it, you won't regret it.
My personal suggestion 6 slot footstomp with 4 obliterations and one force feedback +recharge and the fire damage purple proc, they'll both go off alot. -
Any idea why the developers changed this method of reporting numbers? I used to be able to do a /search twice, once on one side (red) and once on another (blue) and get the total number of players on a given server at one time. I was just finding it very difficult to believe we were capping out so many of the servers even at the launch of a new expansion.
I was under a sneaky suspicion that they were artificially inflating the numbers (on the log in screens) to appear to have a larger surge than we were normally used to. For instance I know freedom would usually have about 1000 people on (both sides combined) and it wouldn't even go to 2 bubbles at the log in screen...anyone else seeing these discrepancies? -
I tweaked it a bit to push up your defenses: smash lethal and a bit more recovery dark armor is a **** with endurance also frankenslotted the dark heal to help with the high end cost. I also don't think with generic 50 IOs that hasten needs 3 slots the recharge is negligible. Anyway hope this looks good to you.

Try using the windows key to show your desktop instead. I sometimes have a freeze effect when I maximize back into the game, I just left click (in the game's window) and win key until I feel I've synced back with the game. Btw I'm running win 7 64 with aero and gtx 260 nvidia graphics
80 celsius is pretty hot even for a laptop if its overheating that will be perceived as lag as well -
Ice/Dark/Mu is a very good corruptor, I haven't even finished its sets and it's just amazing, by far my favorite. I couldn't imagine it with defense bonuses.
Use the stun in howling and all the slows in ice blast plus the fast animation ice blast hold, yeah it's awesome. Lots of -Regen and some -Acc plus a pet. -
You should really think about hasten instead of hurl boulder. In my opinion hasten only needs two level 50 Generic IOs in it anyway, so that would free up some slots for other things as well like topping off recharges and accuracy.
Minerals and those other toggles can't be used with Granite armor up either, so I see you're using those as mules anyway. I would just put the one LOTG recharge if that's all you are using and you can throw those slots else where.
Tremor is a good spot for the force feedback +recharge proc as well. you could fit that in there if you switch around a bit after dropping hurl boulder. -
CRITICAL DEBUFFS/HEALS
I'd really like the higher debuff numbers to work similar to scourge on the Corruptor.
How about giving Defenders a Chance to land a critical Debuff/Heal which could be a heal or an attack driven debuff effect.
Extra slow from an Ice blast
Extra -Defense from Rad Blast
Add in a Nice Visual Effect Like : "Critical" for the scrapper or "overpowered" and people will see it in action
I wouldn't condone it on direct buffs like: Speed Boost, Force Field, Cold shields etc. That would potentially be too overpowered.
But a chance to heal or debuff inherently critically would be very useful. -
It would have to be somewhat of a hybrid of both, but the Hero team wouldn't spawn inside the bank. They'd spawn at the door after the proximity of the villain team to the bank triggered them. Both teams would wait in a queue to spawn. Villains first, as they near the bank they would cause the spawn. I would probably recommend a certain number of "defeats" before a certain player is counted out of that round as well. 3 deaths/respawns sounds reasonable.
Might have to take into account which side (hero or vilain) initiates the safeguarde/mayhem as well. Still I would enjoy it either way.
To answer your question: I've never been a fan of Free for All PVP like the zones in CoX are made. Smaller PVP areas seem more enjoyable to me. -
Was thinking that having an OPTION to possibly even instantly queue up even via a menu a PVP with Heroes protecting the bank after the Villains start robbing it could be fun.
It would play out much the same was as it currently does, though would function like an arena instance. You could drop down a menu and choose to join a PVP or whatever they'd call it Mayhem/Safeguard.
Villains would trigger the spawning of the Heroes (real players) and they would try to stop the Villains from stealing the money. Just in this case it would be much more interesting and difficult. There would have to be some adjustments to the timer and such but I wouldn't think this would be a very difficult thing to implement.
Let me know what you think. Good idea? Bad idea? Not really worth the time? Not interested? -
Yeah yeah fire blast is good damage but there is zero mitigation unless you count the fear effect of rain of fire. Ice has two holds, and a -to hit in it's strongest attack plus every attack does -recharge and -speed. The fact that ice blast does slow opens up more frankenslotting possibilities. Sure Ice lacks fireball but it's nuke is much much better. You can drop blizzard out of line of sight and it can critical (scourge) alot more than inferno.
If you're soloing you probably want better single target damage anyway. Ice has that.
