Stuttering During Animations or AoEs

I'm getting some "Stuttering" during AoEs or when lots of animations are going off, my framerate is dropping very low at the same time..anyone else have/had this problem?

I'm thinking it is something on my end not server lag, per se.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue. Any information/insight is appreciated.

My Video drivers are up to date and I'm not set up for super high detail settings. I've been watching my /showfps and /netgraph 1 . The netgraph has been steady but the framerate drops tremendously when AoEs or lots of animations are enabled. I am using an Nvidia GTX 260 on a Intel core i7 920.

Any insight is helpful. Thanks

don't know what to tell you. I'm unable to replicate this issue on any Nvidia equipment I have.

Yeah, the only other operating system I have installed on the same box is Mac OS X and I experienced no loss of framerate like I did in heavy activity in windows gaming. I'm attempting to completely delete and redownload the windows client now. I find it odd did I did not have any issues running mac osx (even though it's installed on non apple hardware....umm wtf?

same issue, happens every time I select the lightning rod.

Ignoring anyone is a mistake. You might miss something viral to your cause.

One person suggested it was A real time scanning anti virus program, microsoft security essentials, which I use. Trying adding an exception (or turning off real time protection all together) after my new download I'll post here the results.

I had a similar issue on a GTX 280, and running Windows 7 x64. I also tested on a friend's machine with GTX 480s, and saw it occur there as well. It was immediately noticeable using Flashfire with my fire/kinetics controller, and in many other situations where there were large amounts of enemies, or on teams with a lot of effects. This occured across many driver versions, up to 258.96. However, after loading the beta drivers 260.63, the issue has completely vanished. Give it a try, and see if there's any difference on your end.

Yeah I figured I'd go with a beta driver for the helll of it and went over to guru3d and downloaded that version and after (FINALLY) getting my resolutions and refresh rates set I seem to have fixed the problem with the stuttering and ( an unrelated fuzziness in text).

So I've learned refresh rates will screw with scaling on screen and clarity of characters. Thanks all for your informative help.
