What?? Why would you want that? and Issue 16 has been being worked on before issue 15 was started.

/signed
but also when going rogue comes out how would the neutral faction do this? -
I cant believe no one read the survey. Most of it is being done or being put in I16 or has been confirmed in comic-con(except for moonzone). In going rogue with the info from the survey we will all be able to switch even if we are not in Pretoria. We Might or will use a Morality compass if you put the compass on good and your a villain you will be given contacts that give you good karma missions which means there could be Good,Neutral,Evil contacts in all three sides. You could also get rewards for not switching. Also we might start characters as neutral as another poster said. at the end of the tutorial we will choose what side we want to be.
Also does anyone know if I make a villain lvl 39 and make him hero will he still have patron powers vice versa. -
Didn't you guys know that going rogue possibly will have a spy mode according to an NCSOFT survey. basically you probably lets you switch sides but still have your original morality witch should allow you to stay your sg. but I am to tired to think I will post more tommorow.

Quote:I already know why they made archetypes I am asking why Shape Shifting, time control, and light control never made it in game.?Originally, as in back before alpha, the game did not have the archtypes that we do now, and have had since launch.
The basic idea was that you could select any sets and any powers that you wanted.
In theory great idea, in reality however, it turned out that you could gimp yourself epicly and on the other hand create an uber character. The balance was horrible and thus the archtypes were born.
Most of the powers you see in that clip were either removed again or reorganized in the power sets we know today. -
Quote:Did you play it. if so did the shape shifting set exist?/jra- just kidding, but in all seriousness this is extremely unlikely. The version of this game that was in that video was a completly unplayable mess...much like what champions is now. I cant explain the double jump thing, im pretty sure that may have been a bug/blahblah.

Hello everyone.
has anyone looked at the City of Heroes Initial Gameplay Demo. google it.
if you pause at the power screen you see Super Vision, Time Control, Shapeshifting, light control and telekinesis has its own set. Interesting. were they lying for marketing reasons or were the powers already developed.
Also! look at the hero with super strength. He used some of the animation that were revealed to be in I16. They also use the costume creator that was supposed to be new in I16. It looks like I6 is recycled beta features. Also during the video a female character does a double jump then flies also there is an atmosphere also. Why didn't they keep it. (Also a lot more yellow in the game. Especially in the night. makes you think of watchmen)
SO! is Paragon studios actually taking things from closed beta for updates? Did any of the interesting powers in the video actually work. Did closed beta also have the rest of the SS animations? Do they still have access to the content in closed beta? -
Quote:1. does good damage good health and exeptional defense (could always use enhancementsFirst off, what are your qualifications for "balanced"?
Secondly, why no Stalkers?
2.because this thread is going to help me decide what Toon I will do next and I am terrible with stalkers. -
also does super strength compare well with fire
and whats the diffrence between defeense with tank and brute -
Hello everyone.
I am here to ask a question
what is the most balanced melee set (No Stalkers)
Tanker
Brute
Scrapper
also I would like to know if a brute does more damage than a scrapper -
Quote:Actually they can. Riechsman = 10 AV/Hero Freedom Phalanx = 7 av/heroGreat, now I wonder if the entire Freedom Phalanx could take on Reichsman.
BUT WAIT by ten AVs I ment hit points. and Freedom phalanx has every normal hero archetype healing, force field, and the strength of 7 AVs and his equal,
Ontopic: I sign. It will add more of a ultimate feel of invincible Reichsman
Lately Villains have been taking turns pwning statesman lately (story wise) I guess its paragon studious way of insulting Jack Emmert. I hope he get a plot buff soon -
Quote:lol. The last time I bothered to have a go at CO I was challenged to a duel 3 times, by the same person, one right after the other. The fact that some people cant take a hint the first time I click "decline", makes me really not want a feature like that in this game.
On Topic: sounds cool -
Say you have super enhancements.(When they come) out they will be expired when we actually can level up to level 60. Imagine the task that have the difficulty of states/Recluse strikeforce just for them to be expired. Also think of it this way if they bring the level cap they will bring more zones with new contacts and more inspiration slots and more powers to get.
-
Please Paragon do this!
I always wanted Base NPC.
May I add to this suggestion.
Maybe we can have normal NPC to make bases lively using the Character Creator. Imagin how nice it would be having student heroes in a Academy themed sg
or maybe some magicians practicing some spells and chants.
Maybe even allow NPC's from enemy groups for enemy themed groups. -
Did they talk about a moonzone at comicon?

Quote:I really hope the Rouge faction is levels 1-50 and not in Pretoria. Also does anyone else think Rouge arachnos will be part of Arachnos EAT Rouge story or possibly play a big role.I bet Manticore suggested spiesI checked through this thread, and didn't see the stuff from that NCSoft marketing survey posted here, so here it is again:
"City of Heroes and City of Villains let players create unique
characters and set forth as virtuous Heroes or evil Villains in a MMO
comic book inspired universe. This expansion to the City of Heroes/
Villains universe blurs the line between good and evil, between hero
and villain. The Going Rogue system is a new game dynamic for City of
Heroes and City of Villains that allows players to alter the morality
of their characters, eventually opening up the opportunity to turn
their Hero into a Villain or vice versa.
By visiting different contacts in the game, players can start the
process of "moving their moral compass" towards being a hero or a
villain. Making this choice dramatically alters the gameplay for the
player, as they will now be able to bring an Archetype (class) that
was previously only available to players of City of Heroes into City
of Villains, and vice versa. Once a character has switched sides, they
can continue down the path they have chosen, or use the opportunity to
subvert their new allies through a series of espionage-style missions.
In addition to this new game altering dynamic, new neutral starting
zones allow new players to select their Archetype (class) first, and
then let their actions determine their hero, villain or rogue
identities. At the high levels, rewards for these moral choices will
be found in new PVP, PVE and Co-op zones. Accomplishments will lead to
rewards that will significantly distinguish level 50 characters from
one another. One such reward is the Universal Enhancement Slots. Ten
Universal Enhancement Slots are available to be earned in the
expansion, and each one has the potential of adding significant power
to the character, essentially bringing them to a hypothetical "Level
60" once they have earned all ten slots.
For existing City of Heroes and City of Villains players who have
previously reached the level cap of 50, the Expansion will take them
into outer space where they can now find challenges that test their
powers and skills to the max. On an alien space station that
mysteriously appears over Earth, Heroes and Villains will race to
unlock the secrets of the place and be the first to reap the rewards
that are only available to the best of the best.
A brand new Spy Archetype (class), power sets and player costume
options will lead to a massive amount of new character and gameplay
options. And a significantly enhanced character creator system will
now allow characters to customize the effects (looks and colors) of
their super powered attacks and defenses.
Here is some other things that were mentioned in the survey...
1.) New high level Space Station Zones (PVE, PVP, & Co-op)
2.) Characters that do not wish to change sides are rewarded by
becoming exemplary heroes or villains, and earning rewards not
available any other way
3.) Heroes and villains who go to the other side can also act as
Double-Agents
4.) Character Creator 2.0 includes Powers Customization, allowing
players to customize not only the character, but also the actual look
of its powers
5.) Players undertake missions that define their character's morality
and steer them in a more heroic or villainous direction
6.) By switching sides (going from good to bad or bad to good),
players can access content "on the other side" (heroes can experience
villain zones and content, and villains can experience hero zones and
content)
7.) Completely new low-level player experience/zones for new
characters in which new characters do not begin a hero or villain,
rather become one or the other through early gameplay
8.) New Spy Archetype, Power Sets & Costumes
9.) Universal Enhancement Slots - at level 50, these enhance powers to
the character, essentially bringing them to a hypothetical "Level 60"
once they have earned all ten slots"
Of course, it's only a survey, and the fact that Power Customization is listed as a GR feature when it's now going to be a separate Issue shows that nothing on the list can be guaranteed to be in GR - but the survey did get most of the MA details pretty much right, so I think most of what's on this list will appear in the game in some form, even if it's not all in GR. -
Has anyone noticed when cryptic studios left and Paragon studious the Dev team started working on content that was being highly requested. I remember seeing a post by positron or Babs think it was about MA. "We would not be able to make this content if We were still working with cryptic." they also started on power custimization after they broke apart and i think Going Rogue. So basically Champions itself is a great thing for the " City of " franchise.
on topic: the best thing "that Game" did to us was force Posi to give us awesome updates. -
Quote:Well, I was sort of never away
And here's the bit from that survey that mentions outer space:
"For existing City of Heroes and City of Villains players who have previously reached the level cap of 50, the Expansion will take them into outer space where they can now find challenges that test their powers and skills to the max. On an alien space station that mysteriously appears over Earth, Heroes and Villains will race to unlock the secrets of the place and be the first to reap the rewards that are only available to the best of the best."
WTF they will give super enchancements instead of raising levels. -
I am all for this idea. possibly the mission computer will let you contact your contacts to
-
I have been hoping the moonzone Idea was not forgotten.
I hope we can get on the moon by 2010 -
Actually before the game came out during testing you could do that. but then people made perfect characters and overpowered characters.
remember fun = challenge
