You see, to earn money in this game,doing content is for chumps, what we are selling you is City of Wall Street. Go ahead, stand by that kiosk there and videogame your little heart out. Or.....just do not try to get that stuff. Its in the game, but its not right for you. You are not willing to "earn it" But, the fellow says, I am a pretty good videogamer, playing for years, I love videogames. Oh they say, than stand by that Kiosk, and play the game. If you market like crazy, thats where the rewards are. But, he says, cant i just run content for that stuff. Werent you listening, they say? Everybody knows it would take years that way. The Developers dont reward players of content with the best treasure. o, that gos to farmers, and especially marketeers. They are te ones who get all the stuff. Content playing is for people who actually just need SOs, stick with that. Yeah, and at the end of the trial period..... no sale.

    For me, to stop the obvious snarky comment, I enjoy character build out, especially the 3D generation screen. that is primarily why I still subscribe. However, from a pure video game that rewards commensurate with effort, this game is severly tilted to farmers and marketeers. And guess what? That is not what most trial ccount users are looking for. They are looking for a super powered video game. they want toys, bells, whistles, and they are not looking to play city of grind one room, or city of wall street.
    I would pray that this new person would never talk to you and instead talk to ANY other poster in here. EVERYONE else in here has a grasp of how the market works, how to best benefit from the game from "normal" play, and an overall better sense of reality.

    You are still blinded by your expectations and your ignorance. You tell someone that you have to stand next to that Kiosk over there all day to make inf? Did you miss my post telling I spent 2 total hours of gameplay over a 2 month span making a couple billion? 2 hours in a span of 60 days. 2 hours out of a possible 1440.

    There have been countless new people that I have met in this game telling me how little grinding there is compared to X game they came from. There are countless new people that I meet in this game that get giddy just because they can get a friggin cape and fly.

    Would you take a car engine to a cafeteria lunch lady and as him/her to fix it? No, you wouldn't. You are the cafeteria lunch lady and the car engine is the market. You have shown you don't have much knowledge of the market and yet you tell everyone it's broken and your way of fixing it is better.

    The reason why no one has the "courage" to say how long it should take to kit out a character is because there is not a "right" answer. I don't even know where you get off thinking that everyone "should" have one of these characters.

    Where in all your gaming in CoX have you read in a manual, help boxes, tutorial or heard from a dev that everyone is entitled to a fully "pimped" out character after so and so time? Considering how unnecessary IOs are due to balancing I don't see how you can come to that conclusion.

    I've been playing this game a little over five years and I didn't have my first purpled character until about a year ago meaning it wasn't until two years after IOs came out. Never in my time playing this game did I have the notion that I've been playing long enough and I should get a purpled out character now as if it were some kind of Veteran Reward.

    I had a pretty good feeling my Endurance wasn't going to be much of an issue but I'm not a numbers guy and just wanted a numbers guy to take a look at it.

    I did make a few changes in my DDR and changed the slotting of Smite to put the Heca proc in it. DDR was low but I figured with AAO and SD going I'll be killing...err...arresting people with Shield Charge and Fire Ball faster than they can take me down. I also went with the end reducer in MG. Tactics I use situationally so I'm not too worried about it.

  6. I finally decided to go back and rework my DM/SD that I made a while back.

    For the most part I'm pretty happy with what I've come up with but I'd like to squeeze a little more endurance out of this build.

    I'd rather not lose the recharge, and in a perfect world it'd be really nice to close the small gap to perma hasten.

    This is an i19 build and the i19 Mid's is going to be needed to see this build.

    It has to be your Mid's(could be mine as well), because I used all the slots. I copied it into mine just to make sure and they are all used. I'd have to be insane in the membrane to leave that many.

    Depends on what you are doing.

    With AVs it will play a bigger part than if you were teaming. Even with AVs though you're going to have baddies around for SD fodder and the recharge of DC is good enough to be there when you need it and all you have to do is hit 1 or 2 and your bar is full. The damage is low so there won't be much worry about killing things off with it.

    It is tight, I agree. But I've used a similar set up, in fact, I've had it tighter than that, and it can work very well.

    As a whole, for me personally, I probably rely on DC more than others, and while I'm aware of the pros and cons of doing that, but the things I've done on my dm/inv please me well

    Having Blaze Mastery did intrigue me and made me want to put something together.

    It's a bit pricey, but it should have the chain while hasten is up. Endurance shouldn't be much of an issue and defenses at decent numbers.

    I took a little break from the game because it was getting a little stale, but I didn't so much miss the game, but I missed just scrapping. It's why you do an all Scrapper anything. How many can you kill before they kill you.

    I've never done an all Scrapper STF, but when I do I'll be hoping we get more than 121 deaths so then I can sit back and think, "We were ruthless."
  13. Got you softcapped in S/L with one in range

    Changed some enhancements in Dark Consumption and Soul Drain. They now do less damage so they don't kill off your fodder, and they have a little bit quicker recharge and better accuracy.


    Had to do this really quick. I'll look at it some more later.

    DA is a late blooming set, and you need to get the endurance use worked out, so don't give up on it too early. Late game, and especially with IO's, DA is a beast.
    By no means am I giving up on it. I'm actually greatly looking forward to it. The lack of KB protection doesn't bother me in the slightest. It was just honest curiosity. I've always wondered and starting a /DA gave me that extra "hmph" to actually ask about it.
  24. I had a feeling that it had to do something with the age of the powersets.

    I don't have a problem with it and I kind of embrace "weaknesses" because they can make things interesting.

  25. Something I have always been curious about with these two sets are the difference between them and the rest of the sets when it comes to KB protection.

    I'm more curious as to why these two sets are like this. Is it a thematic choice? Is there a back story that I'm missing? Old game mechanics?

    I've always wondered and since my next project will be a claws/DA, it sparked even more curiosity.
