  1. Deevian why did you take mu lightning instead of static discharge for more aoe(cone)?
Do you use mu lightning in your rotation or is it just a mule?

Also Deevian, are you using Spiritual core paragon? I hit 50 after the maintenence.

Deev I've been following your Build, have you updated it at all since you last posted it? I'm about lv 27 now.
  4. How many Dark Extraction pets can you have at once max now that we have Alpha slots?
  5. Thanks Carni and Deacon, Cold mastery sounds sexy.

  7. I am currently a Praetorian. I am planning on taking my ds/therm blueside. I really want to get an Epic Shield come lv 41, but if I COULD I'd like to avoid having to double switch alignments just to get patrons powers.

    So.

Are there any comparable Blueside APP shield powers worth taking IN LIEU of grabbing Patrons?

If it's more than worth it to just make the switch, be honest.

  9. I have been having constant mental iterations of a basic "Gadget Blast" AT flowing through my head for quite a while. The basic premise is, an AT that is based on swarms of small short lived high damage pets.

It started as kind of like, "Oh hey Seeker drones that are targetable." Then as I thought more and more into it I started to get a lot of interesting methods of delivery and innovation.

This is a very loose concept, and I'm basically going to vomit letters onto the screen, but I wanted to kind of get this out in the public for cogitation, because I have basic ideas but a lot of empty spaces. Here Goes.

    Player essentially creates "constructs"

Constructs are not powered until you use a type of on/off switch ability, IE: "Power Constructs"

Once you turn everything on it all jumps to life and drains your endurance, more per construct active.

This gives the opportunity to set up multiple constructs and activate them all at once.

Power like "Laze target" or something could be used to direct bursts of constructs toward a particular target. You could through a beacon at someone and it floats over their head or something.

    Examples of constructs would be:
Mini-turrets- Throw a cluster of mini turrets (they basically look like tiny red space observation telescopes in my head) which are un controllable and fire steady streams of bullets. I'm thinking this would be a good starter power.

Mini-Automaton Factories- Factories are a key mechanic for this AT. You build a factory which is stationary and once you power it with "power construct" it begins to manufacture a given type of automaton or whatever kind of gadget.

The type of automaton build would correspond to the factory, like you would build a basic automaton factory and a "stunner" automaton factory. This would allow you to mix effects of different swarm pets. Like stunners would cause knockdown and blow up on contact whereas normal automatons would have a basic melee attack.

That's just a basic overview of the factory concepts, continuing with other constructs.

Power Reclamator- You build this next to your other constructs and everytime one of your automatons is destroyed you are refunded some endurance, for example. Possible other ways to "HARVEST" endurance through constructs could be viable as well.

Stationary Sentry Turret- Yes we all knew and hated it in "Devices" but this would would summon fast, recharge fast, and use the endurance draining "Power Constructs" ability to work. It could have a number of effects.

Any other ideas for constructs? The more I think of this the more it seems like I'm making a tiny RTS that you control in the battlefield. There are unit creation and resource management.

The nuke would probable be something along the lines of: "Overload Constructs". All constructs in the area become twice as endurance efficient, twice as fast, and explode once you hit 0 Endurance.

I need help developing this idea. I like the burst potential and I like the tiny mini-game type of gameplay.

Possibly there would be a way to move factories easily so they don't get cumbersone like the original devices turret. Maybe a "Reclaim Resources" button.

I was also toying with the idea of crafting the constructs a ahead of time using large amounts of endurance (or even low-grade salvage for that matter) to "charge" before battle so they can be placed instantly later on.

Power Customization would be cool as well. This would automatically work thematically well with tech or science types, but you could possibly select like voodoo dolls or "sack boys" and wooden materialization boxes through which you "channel" endurance into your constructs for more of a magical theme.

I'm seeing the ability to lay down a small field of mini turrets, plant a factory, laze a target. Then power constructs and watch as they are manufactured and march into the mobs. BUT I was thinking instead of marching one by one you could have them just begin to muster around the factory when a target is not designated. That way you could power your factories and build up a small army of them which could then be sent all at once for great burst. In order to balance this I guess the more active automatons or turrets you have out the heavier the endurance maintenance costs.

I'm guessing there could be a number of balance mechanics like that put in place, as well as QOL mechanics to allow for greater mobility, like difference modes, different manufacturing speeds, all with their own penalties and such. Maybe if you're on the fly you could bypass the factories altogether and throw one-off automatons. I think though that the mini-turret clusters would be a good fast staple for mobile damage just throw a handful down and power them.

I'm curious to see what other ideas you guys could think of to flesh out this concept. What other types of constructs/powers could we include? What kind of mechanics? Remember dual pistol and it's ammo swap ability. There is always room for unique inherent powers outside of the basic 8.

As per Black Scorpion, nothing reduces a Incarnate Power's recharge timer, so Lore pets always have a downtime of at least 10 mins.
Dude you have no idea how killed my buzz is right now.

  13. Will thugs and spiritual be able to achieve perma gang war? With the advent of the Lore slot (another pet) will we be able to perma all those pets for massive armies of death?!

If so? What would be the best combo for stacking pets?
  14. YEEE. Filling out my Mastercrab right now. I had a set of Rags I put into Venom grenade DD

I currently have went with mindl/fire/fire. But I may change the epic to ice and try that for awhile. I love the damage with the fire epic, but so far Ive been beat up on pretty hard in some task forces. I currently have three purple sets, but Im waiting before buying the more expensive sets to make a final decision on my build.
We all know how you roll: sit in a monkeyfarm for 5 hours like everyone else did.
  16. I love this, we need more tech powersets, I also nominate a gadget control set which is less grenade based. Even gadget blast! IT can consist primarily of swarmer pets and such.
  17. Well for anyone who cares I rolled a ninja/trap and I'm alt-attack commanding it up.
  18. I have been partaking in a LOT of trial and error as of late with the new... "extended septuple experience weekend" we seem to having in AE.

I have always been an altaholic, trying to figure out what exactly in this game is fun to me.

I have discovered in teams I like to pick a target and have all my pets focus fire it and my gratification directly correlates to how quickly they can all burn down a single mob.

I'm not sure why I guess it's kinda visceral that way. With all the AOE in the game I guess I feel a kind of disconnect when I'm just somehow suppose to be contributing to this ball of flaming aoe but I don't really see and feel the damage other than orange numbers. I like watching the healthbar shoot down.

As strange as that sound, if anyone would like to contribute to my enlightenment that's about 33 months on and off in the making, I would really appreciate feedback of the possible best prim/sec for this style of play.

    A: No.

    B: No.

Now, I'm actually debating whether or not I really want to go into debunking this particular derailment of how the game actually works.

For starters there is the idea that the Doppelganger tech is applicable to the player controlled player pets tech. After all, the technology has been in the game since day 1 to display another players unique costume on another players game, so of course the code is easily interchangeable and can just be copied over.

What we know from the developers is that all of the pet-class objects in the game are exposed as costume overlays using hard-coded costume definitions. We know that the database and rendering systems that contain, dispatch, and render these costume overlays were never designed with the idea that the players could, or would, be able to modify a pet-class costume design. We also know that redeveloping the backing processing, database, and rendering engines just for the primary and secondary powers, took the better part of a 2 year period.

Now, given as you don't know how the engine works, why it works like it works, or what the developers see on their development branches, there's no way you can make a judgment call about how long any particular feature would take to develop and implement, nor whether or not any particular segments of code are indeed re-usable in a copy and past format. We do know from public statements and at least one convention demonstration, that simply copying existing customization code segments is not a viable a solution for pet-class costume overlays.
Ya don't say. I guess that's why I chose Audio Technology over Computer Science.

Yeah an hour of coding (probably copy pasting mostly) to make your pets look like you with or without a color variation.

    It's not rocket science.
  24. Lobby! I'm literally one Ragnarok away from perma hasten! I couldn't have done it without you I have almost achieved our dream build! just 300mill to go.
