  3. I am running the 190.38s with windows 7. It has fixed my black screen issues that I would receive with the 186 series. So if anyone is still running the 185 series because their CoH opens to a black screen, go ahead and try the 190s now.
  4. I experience the flicker in Windows 7 as well. I am on a GTX260 using the 181.20 WHQL drivers. I did see the statement on Nvidia's site about just using windows update to get the driver. I suppose I'll try that tomorrow, or maybe just try out the beta 185.20s.

  6. QR: I don't know if anybody noticed, but Energy Drain's seizure inducing gold effects have been reverted since the last patch to the training room. It is now the familiar subtle blue.

    better grab those kinetic combat IOs off the black market while they're cheep.

    This one change alone is of greater benefit to EA than anything they're likely to do with the heal in ED.

    I agree.

    This change really boosted my survivability. I already have 3 powers with Kinetic Combats on Live which give me some nice smashing defense all combined.

    Lethal defense was always incredibly hard to come by. On top of that, pretty much every lethal attack in the game has a -DEF secondary effect. This would just compound my need for lethal defense.

    Anyway, I copied a newer version of my EA Brute to the test server and rolled around some Cimerora missions. Everything was so much better. The Energy Drain and the Energy Protection buffs prior to this to "fix EA" fell way short IMO. This IO change was the key. As long as the change sticks, I'll be so happy to play my Brute once again.

    This sort of information would be helpful so we are not making uninformed decisions. Is it just toxic res / heals, or is something like Rooted such a power that does not allow outside healing buffs?
  10. I too am in the same boat of getting rid of the high perception critters. Super Speed is just a nightmare.

    Yesterday I did the PI safeguard. I entered the mission and ran to the bank. The message sprung up that I had to stop the robbers. Arachnos came out of the door and I start kicking butt no problem. A sapper sees me from an unprecedented distance and drains all my end, I die.

    I shook it off, I don't mind dying every now and again from too much aggro. "Go to hospital" sends me to the beginning of the map, and I'm ready to go again. But anyway, by now the robbers are getting away, I need to find them and stop them. I start my journey, and within seconds a streak of Blue energy is on me, sapping my endurance.

    I eat a cab so I don't drop the toggles and continue to zip around looking for the running robbers. All of the sudden another sapper hits me with his ghostbuster rod and I start melting endurance yet again. I eat 2 more cabs to try and nullify that effect just as I spot the fleeing thieves. Another sapper sees me, saps me, I die.

    Once again I start the journey and quickly head right for the robbers. I hit the boss and ran around in an alley to try and coax her into coming to 'safe' area where I wouldnt be sapped again. As I do this I am freaking being drained of endurance from another great distance. I lose all my end and the boss that is now pissed off at me again just 2 shots me and I die. The arachnos Lt with her had already started running and got to where he needed to be. The mission ended with me dead. I was sapped of endurance each time to cause a death from a distance that would otherwise be perfectly safe to stand.

    Superspeed simply just does not cut it with your new 'higher perception' mobs in safeguards. A sapper's first attack is always the high end drain. If you superspeed down a road in the PI safeguard you will inevitably see 4 or 5 blue rays of light sapping your endurance.
  11. Shortly before Issue 7 I noticed I couldnt keep an AV on me without taunting him. Despite constant attacks and mud pots with 2 taunt SOs.

    Same deal with Brutes. Even though they supposedly have a single target punchvoke, my EM brute constantly loses agro to corruptors against hero fights.
  12. I remember before issue 1, I always wanted to see what EMP and Atomic Blast looked like. I couldnt wait to get them and had visions of this huge 360 degree spherical PBAoE for EMP and a huge Atom Bomb for Atomic Blast.

    When I finally got EMP, I realized it was just what the freakin Circle of Thorns have been doing for 30 levels at their "rituals". Then I counted on Atomic Blast, as it turns out, the CoT.... as early as Kings Row use the mushroom cloud thingy for their rituals too.

    I mean dont get me wrong, EMP and AB still look awesome, but it was kind of disheartening to know that I had already seen these powers at level 6.

    And what is it about Radiation that would make them look like a magic Ritual?
  13. I remember when -resistance powers were based off the mob level not the caster level.

    So a level 40 Rad could go in Perez Park and throw EF on a Hellion, then hit him for 4000 damage.

  16. Oh my, nice write up. This has alot of potential. Something I've always wanted to see are the costs of each empowerment. I mean, I know its all in the game but its a cumbersome setup and would be nice to gauge and compare in one nice web page

    I agree that the 3rd station is not much of a jump from the second, and also mixing your types. (we have a tech station in our arcane base).

    I cant wait to find out some numbers on the other stuff. My /Nin stalker has been living on the knockback protection now that it lasts an hour. It only costs 1 tech mat and I can pretty much get that per mission. So thats a gem compared to the crappy damage resistance empowerments. I have not tried the +perception or many of the other Mez resistance ones however.
  17. Heat Loss does take Accuracies. Why arent you taking it at 38 ? I'm even more curious why you are waiting so long for Sleet. Its easily one of the greatest debuff powers in the game.
  18. In their defense, it was available at level 4. My tank is actually still like that as I've not respec'd in a while. The devs moved some powers around to make it easier to obtain attacks at low levels.

    Now, onto the Planner, it actually has been fixed to reflect this change. I have the planner version 1.7.6.0 as well BUT I have powers version 1.0.343. Ill see if I can find a link for you.

    Just unzip the contents into your C:\Program Files\CoH Hero Builder\data\ (or wherever your builder is installed) folder and let it overwrite the 2 files already there.

    Well since they are toggles you can use powexectoggleon and just push the same macro twice.

    That will turn on RI first assuming you have a mob targeted, then switch on EF with another click.

  21. Is something going to be done about the fact that Ghost Widow's Dark Consumption for Dominators is advertised on the plaques as a 3 minute recharge when in reality it is a 6 minute recharge?

    On 6 / 6 / 6, I talked to Arbiter Rein and he instructed me to read all the plaques and base my patron pool decision from them. Well I did exactly that, making note of Dark Consumption's 3 minute recharge versus Power Sink's 2 minute recharge.

    I thought to myself I could let the extra minute of recharge in endurance recovery slide while keeping a bit of backstory with the darker powers. Well as it turns out, Dark Consumption has the same recharge as a tier 9 nuke while Power Sink is sitting pretty at 2 mins. I would not have went with Ghost Widow if I knew this was the case.

    Now, to this day, you can still read all these plaques on the Live Servers and come to this very same point that I have. As of today 6/25, the plaque is still wrong . On test, this stuff has been corrected. Does that do me any good? Not at all. I am still stuck with a permanent patron that I picked based entirely off of those plaques.

    Do not tell me people are working hard to correct the plaques, I know that. Once again, it does not help us at all if they were completely wrong AT ANY POINT.

    In all fairness, I belive the only conclusion available is to lower GW's Dark Consumption to 3 minutes.

    If you don't want us to be able to get Hamidon Enhancements, why don't you just remove Hamidon altogether?

    Better yet, why don't you create an anti-archvillain Task Force for us the way you made an anti-hero Strike Force for the villains, so we can give up this whole silly Hamidon Raiding thing. Hamidon Raids stopped being fun shortly after everyone figured out how to beat him. Now they're just work, which you keep making less and less fun in the hope of making it less and less easy.

    There is nothing fun about Hamidon Raiding. Nothing. Making Hamidon attack while he's held is only going to make it even more irritating. Rather than continue to make it even more tedious, please replace it with something that could remotely be considered fun. Retire the jello blob and bring in the AVs.
