Ninja run and sprint will help a great deal as well.
Yeah, I'm going to try again, this time on my PB.

edit: Yeah, better. I think my mistake was engaging the first mob group at all rather than just running by it.

In fairness, there is no ticking clock in a mall. And depending on what angle you are entered into the mission, you may not see the glowing green exit at all. I'm standing in the mission now facing straight ahead looking at two archers and a mutate, and I can't see the alternate exit. My first inclination isn't to look to the left or the right, as I assume this is a standard mission entrance. Even panning about 30deg to the right, the most I see is a green crystal, which is no different than the left side. Without further inspection, it appears to be a familiar surrounding.

My son or I sometimes play on his laptop, which has a really small screen. The store window was basically unusable as for whatever reason we couldn't place it all the way at the top of his window nor could we resize it. Not a huge deal going forward as he can make purchases on our desktop, but it was an annoyance playing the tutorial the first time and trying to purchase the badge.

I did try that with my Kheld, but didn't do it fast enough. By time I got to the rubble there were enough of them on me that even with the purples hits were getting through. On the corr I just didn't come prepared (and rad infection didn't cut it).

Honestly, what I'll probably do when running this is just to wait outside the door. It's cheap, but it's less mental hassle. I'm usually alt-tabbing to browser windows anyway, so five minutes won't bother me.

Just ran this again, this time on my level 19 Beam/Rad Corr. Outside of the initial death and the Voids, pretty much the same deal. I can't defeat three Pumicites and deal with spawns around the rubble. Sat in the hospital waiting for the countdown to expire.

  6. Diellan, you and your crew are fantastic. Many, many thanks.

  8. Now THIS is interesting. I decided to actually run some Hollows missions on a character I rolled a couple of days ago. Popped up the map and saw that there was a swath cleared from the Atlas entrance to the Skyway entrance. Not a direct one, but passing the location of my 'Defeat all Outcasts in 2nd base' mission.
  9. Had some serious rubberbanding on Infinity the other day trying to get inside the WW. I'd think I was in and click on the rep, and would find myself back out. Over and over.

The memory needed for the new Atlas has also tripped me up. I sometimes play on my son's Nick laptop, where the game surprisingly runs ok (with graphics settings floored and in blue zones, anyway). Not the new Atlas though, where I've timed out and been bounced back to the login screen while trying to load toons that happen to be in Atlas.
  10. Was wondering the same - my billing is on the 21st on my first account, and no extra points (no token either...stuck on 33). I was guessing that we were front-loaded with too many and that we'll need to catch up to them.

Likewise. Were I to guess, I'd think it was something involving how they are validating through their own db (I don't *think* they'd be using the native 'user' table(s)*, but I could be wrong) and checking for user groups (VIP, beta access, etc).

This latest round is a little different though. Previously I could usually pick up with a session - if I had logged in at work, then accessed at home, I could go back to work and not have to log in (at least not immediately). The last couple days I've *always* had to log in first either at home or at work. The sessions are either expiring or one is bouncing the other (also not something I've seen happen with vBulletin).

    * Well, they could I guess if they have some sort of trigger that updates the password field whenever the NCSoft password is changed, but I tend to think they've modified the authentication process to look elsewhere. Especially if we can't get on the forums while the login server is down.

    Beam Rifle/what?

I'm going to go Beam/Rad (one of the support sets I haven't leveled despite its popularity).
  13. My Bane Spider has never gained any traction. My AR/Dev has had a couple of leveling spurts, but is on the back burner at 39. I have a MA/Dark scrapper that is somewhere in the 20s, haven't done anything else with those sets (those last two are 6+ years old).

Have never rolled anything with Super Strength. Can't bring myself to using Stone Armor.
  14. It may not be the best arrangement for existing high-level characters, but I understand the approach as a method for inserting additional storylines into the game to work on as you level up*. Basically analogous to the HEAT or VEAT (well, or maybe just the HEAT) arcs. Every level range you get another mini-arc to progress an overarching story. Only instead of being gated behind AT status, they're gated by paid status (they could try the same with other constraints - Origin Arcs, for example).

    * edit: This works better IMO once all of these are released. It's quite possible that my level 16 Ice/Time does the arc at 20, maybe even 25, but has outleveled the other installments by time they are released.

I'm of this mind. I think a fault in some of the more recent missions is trying to fit narrative around new tricky game mechanics (yay chained objectives and ambushes, and OH LOOK I'VE ANOTHER DOPPLEGANGER).

Regarding Unai -- I actually like the missions he gives out. I get a variety of villain groups, lots of them, on wide open maps. I very much LIKE running these kinds of missions (same goes for the charred forest map, DA cemetery, etc). As an arc, it's not very good. I'd be all for giving him the Borea treatment though, unlimited one-offs in random alternate dimensions.

    Auto-Hit Heals

Included in this category are powers like Healing Aura and Heal Other. Excluded are powers that require a to-hit check, like Transfusion (Empathy).
    Should read "Transfusion (Kinetics)."

    Very nice guide.
  18. While overall I like the Revenant Hero Project arc, I absolutely DESPISE being used as Mark Freeman's personal delivery person.

    Absolutely.
  20. I just got to 16 on my Ice/Time controller, and I rather like Distortion Field. Lead with Frostbite, follow with DF and I have -90% recharge going w/o running Arctic Air and w/o taking into account any ST attacks. As long as my end holds out, these guys aren't doing much of anything it seems.

Definitely putting off Temporal Selection until I'm closer to 32 and have Jack.
  21. I was underwhelmed by LRT. If you could teleport to specific points like chosen contacts or active missions (and the tech seems to exist for both), I'd like it. If it is just going to function as a train when I already have trains, Pocket D, Oro and in many cases base teleporters available I can't see taking it on any primary builds.

    New Brawl Sounds

No real opinion on the brawl sound, but the grunts/moans coming from lobsters when hit were really annoying my son earlier today.
  23. I've noticed this too, and it is distracting/disorienting (also odd, the rendering of mission maps layer by layer upon entry). Old zones fade in from fuzzy to clear nicely, but not the new ones on my current settings.

I'm not sure what setting it is though. I have world detail on very high. Ambient occlusion off, water effects off.

Another thing that I tweaked that I wouldn't have guessed was reflection level. The lit windows in Atlas were making the entire window square light up when I had reflections completely off (this looked...not so good). Turning it up to the lowest setting fixed the windows.
  24. I agree that there could be some untouchable period on Revive. When I first picked up Stygian Return on my WS, I though "wow, ok - this is a solid rez power." Then I took Restore Essence on my PB and was reminded "oh right - same old crappy Revive" when I died again mid-animation.

If there aren't any major balance reasons behind why there isn't an untouchable period, I'd like to see one added to both the Regen and PB versions. Heck, if it's fair for Freaks to be untouchable now, why not us, right?

Yeah, I was hoping to find some too, but ended up using rough leather. Also used rough leather for the section of thigh that shows between the skirt and the boots.
