I had been wondering the same a few weeks back after I came back from leaving my toon AFK under a tree. The leaves had piled up a bit, and they were definitely in fall colors.

Yep - unfortunately it looks like I'm not after Pool A, but Pool B. But, it may make sense just to roll Pool A in order to more efficiently get the funds to buy the Pool B's that I need. That is, assuming they are actually being generated elsewhere. Probably just have to pony up.

Quote:Yeah, that's what I was worried about.Something to look at...
I'm not sure I'd recommend rolling silver at all. The problem with Silver is that it gives you rare pool A+B, and there are a lot of rare pool Bs that are total junk on the market. At least at higher levels, you end up with what I'm pretty sure is a lower average value for a much higher ticket cost per roll.
Quote:I know two of the pieces are in pool B. You might be OK rolling in the 10-14 level range. I haven't looked at what the recipe overlap is for sets in that range. I know it was pretty attractive to roll pool A in that range just because Basilisk's was in there, but I'm less sure about pool B. -
Just dinged 50 on my dom, and figured for once instead of immediately moving on to other characters I'd run some AE content, generate a few tickets and roll some recipes.
One of the last things I need on that toon is to grab four recipes from the Basilisk set, which aren't the cheapest to come by (I could use some from Cloud Senses and Shield Breaker on my MM too). Would it make any sense to roll some recipes in the 10-14 range, as opposed to rolling another range and just using the profits to buy the recipes outright? Given that Silver:Bronze is a 7.5:1 ticket ratio, what might be a sensible Silver/Bronze mix to go for (I'd probably leave Gold for rolling with Merits)?
Thanks, and apologies if this has been covered already in other threads. -
Somewhat less money than what it used to though (an ad guy or two frequent another board I check out, and they say rates have been dropping). Of course it depends on market, station, show, etc. Still don't know if it would make sense or not given that the ad money has to come from somewhere.
What I'd like to know is what the plan is for in-game ads. -
"I go by the name of 'The Prestidgitator.' I know the name is not the best, but it seems that the best names have already been taken."
Well done. -
Yeah, Kadabra Kill is a major pain, especially the mish with the Lost boss. Pretty sure I ended up skipping it with my Plant/Thorn, who has pretty much been able to handle everything solo since (well, on +0/x2/bosses anyway). Maybe if I tried enough times making sure I had domination up and survived long enough for KK to summon the Singy for me to confuse it...wasn't worth finding out.
He ripped through my Merc/Poison MM too. -
Quote:I think I survived into my mid 20s with just Barrage and Energy punch on my INV/EM tanker. It was my first character and he was started before Bone Smasher became unlocked earlier in the set (Taunt was unlockable earlier, IIRC). I kept putting off attacks for hasten/ss, the fitness pool, reist elements (yeah, I know). I had battles with pairs of Tsoo Sorcs that took forever.I had a brute whose attack chain from level 6 until 32 was punch->brawl->air superiority->brawl->punch, etc.,
Not quite the same ability, but very close. I think eventually I put boxing in instead of brawl, after I got a recharge enhancement in there. Also, before I got Air Superiority, I was using throwing knives in its place, which meant I basically had a full attack chain at level 1. They weren't crazy damaging attacks, but it was certainly quick enough for me. -
I've taken it a couple of times - I think on my BS/Regen (was already a high level so I didn't really use it) and another on my Empath. I might have it on someone else, but I really can't remember.
Really I've been skipping Sands/Axe altogether after unlocking Nemesis/Blackwand unless I feel my attack chain is painfully lacking at lower levels. That's not been the case on my more recent characters. -
Quote:Eveantium? The harder it is to get a name the less likely someone else somewhere will have it. I had to recently rethink a name for one of my characters and have found one that's somehow been missed by others.
Lets say you had a character that had bones made out of something like Adamantium but using adamantium linked names is so unoriginal. If you look hard enough there is an alternative that everyones overlooked. -

I know this thread is a week old, but it was the first thing that popped in my mind when I faced off against Dominatrix's gim--I mean, minions yesterday. Those maces they wield are pretty spiffy.

Quote:Sure, but how many of those might be "false"/lowball bids by the seller of the lone piece? It's hard to bid creep, but the recipes are getting more and more scarce(spell check) everyday. I am seeing in the hundreds in bids for 1 piece. Well, if i need it, imma have to buy it nao!
I don't really blame the greedy marketeers as much as i am the devs decision on the drop rates. I really wish i didn't play and wanna IO every alt i make. lol. I'd have waaay over the cap if i'd stop spending so much at nao prices. haha -
Quote:I took my Level 35 WM/Shields Brute to Cimerora for the first time yesterday (he's named Time's New Roman, so I figured I should take a trip there) and did my first traitor mission as well. I was spotted by the first spawn (boss) and had a +1 ambush/patrol to deal with at the same time, and face planted in short order. It was a bit of a wake up call for sure. Made it through the rest of the mission ok after that, but had to be pretty careful with things.I finally hit level 35 with my DB/EA stalker yesterday, and I decided to check out Cimerora. Now, before I get to the actual question, let me start off by saying that my Stalker is quite hardy. I can solo missions set for five players, and rarely ever die. I've been ambushed by multiple mobs set for five at a time, and emerged victorious. During a mayhem mission, I was ambushed by Aurora Borealis in EB form, as well as two groups of PPD and Longbow, still set for five, and I still managed to survive. I'm not trying to brag or show-off, but you get the point that my Stalker can solo pretty well. (Some of you may think that's not impressive, but it is to me. =P)
So anyways, I get to Cimerora and I get my first mission against the Cimeroran Traitors. The mission is still set for five players, +0 levels, and I enter not knowing what to expect. The first mob nearly tears me apart, and the second mob kills me, in less than fifteen seconds. I figure these guys are tough, so I lower my difficulty to what was once known as "Villainous" in the olden days, Level +0/x1 players. I engage the first mob, and I get slaughtered instantly... on villainous.
These guys seem to rip right through my defense like wet tissue-paper, and their extreme damage attacks don't help much either. What's the deal with the Cimerorans, and why are they so impossible to kill?
Oh, and I've been running him on +0/x2, so +0/x5 sounds plenty impressive to me. I can't even imagine the endurance issues I'd run into (getting better, but still a bit of an end hog). -
Quote:Batman might not have been the best example. Green Lantern...I'd more compare the "modern" Green Lantern to say, Alan Scott. I think in DC there are three heroes known as The Flash right now (Jay Garrick, Wally West, and the newly revived Barry Allen). Ted Grant and his son both go by the name Wildcat (and are both in the JSA).Incidentally, they don't exist in the same places at the same time. Those that are are more of a Supergroup (the Lanterns) or at the very least know eachother and work together. That is outside of short cloning plotlines or alternate dimension stories.
It makes far less sense for there to be fifteen strangers all named Batman, all working at the same time in Gotham City than anything you just gave as an example.
Most people don't choose their names, while superheroes tend to.If you were granted the opportunity to change your name, would you willingly and intentionally change it to something you know someone in the same city already has?
Whew, I'd work through the rest of your post but this is getting long, and I'm feeling a bit peckish.
Now, a lot of this is needed to clean up messy DC continuity and the wackiness of multiple Earths. Of course, with Praetoria... -
Hmm...in cases of dupe names, perhaps list them as Character (SG Name). You'd still need a solution for dupes that aren't in Supergroups and would have to limit to one name per SG though.

Need to remember to periodically check crafted IOs rather than just recipes...

The closest I would have are Hiberpsych (Ice/MM) and Hyperpsych (Psi/MM), who I believe are on two different accounts and are "sisters", I suppose. I don't dual-box with them though.
I did dual-box on a MUD in college though when I could get away with grabbing two CRTs in the computer lab. My characters would play off of each other, and I think I fooled a few into thinking they were two distinct players. -
Remote WW/BM access! Either that or an ability to vendor remotely.
It has to be something just a little more than costumes for me, I think. I think the offerings so far have been good, though I've not really bought too many of them honestly.
I got the GvE goodies on both of my accounts, but they were essentially free (boxes marked down to $9.99). LOVE both the Pocket D VIP and the Jump Pack.
Cyborg Booster - got this on my second account, mainly for my son. Self Destruct is cool, but not something I use regularly.
Magic Booster - Mystic Fortune is a really cool idea, and I will probably pick that up at some point. It would fit on my Emp, as would the costumes really.
Science Booster...eh, this might be good for some concepts, but none that I currently have.
Martial Arts - I will probably get this at some point on both accounts. Ninja Run just seems too handy.
Mac Edition - not sure why I haven't gotten this already, outside of just being really cheap (though for $20 it still comes with a month of play, right?). Mission Teleporter seems well worth $5.
Wedding Pack - really sweet costumes. But, just costumes and emotes.
Really I think I am more into the utility powers - powers that are convenient but don't give a competitive advantage - than emotes (I've never really used emotes) or costumes, even if the costumes are really spiffy. -
Quote:Not really intending to offend anyone here; I'd be fine with the combination of the EU and NA servers or making any new servers available to both player bases. Just thought those names might be fitting. And just who would get those new servers? EU or NA?
EU already has a much smaller population and new servers there would further spread out their small population making it even harder to find teams.
Giving the servers to just NA would be a slap in the face to the EU players by showing them that the devs focus is on the NA playerbase.
The better idea would be to combine the EU and NA servers so everyone has access to all the servers, thus brining the community closer together.
