The Devs at the time judged it not to work based on the fact that it could potentially slow down fury generation they also wanted to at the time keep certain power sets for certain ATs.
All these things have now changed fury has been altered since closed beta and now build differently and they no longer intend to keep specific power sets with specific ATs
[/ QUOTE ]
I was not aware that fury worked differently in the past, but i can still see a Ice brute having trouble building fury with it.
You use Dark armor as an example of "working set" that also slows down fury building by having damage mitigation that prevents mobs from attacking you. I used to have a Dark brute and solo i never used CoF or OG since it slowed down my fury to much, in teams it was less of an issue. In the end i deleted him because Elec armor worked so much better for a brute.
I would rather use Dark Armor as an example of how not to do it with future brute sets. -
I dont understand this obscession with Ice for brutes, it was tried and judged not to work. I would much much rather have a set that actually works good for brutes.
And changing the Ice attacks to -def or something like that would mean it would not really be ya know ice anymore... -
If you select a specific recipe, like say LotG: +Recharge, you get that at the level selected by the slider. But when you random rolls the recipe always drops at highest possible level (assuming you are level 50 ofc). So if you roll in the 35-39 range you will get level 50 recipe if the recipe can drop at level 50, or level 40 if the recipe caps at that level.
-
Cant see this as any big issue tbh, you get a good preview already that should be enough.
-
Why dont you just send a tell to someone still on the team?
I would like something similar tho, team statistics. What toon has dealt most damage during the mish, and most healing. There are already systems in the game to track theese things, for the badges, so should not be a major problem to add a information screen (like a section of combat attributes) listing statistics.
Other things to list might be total xp, inf, prestige, drops.
Huh, might make a separate suggestion of that so not to hijack this thread. -
You seem to have covered most of the bases but i had a similar problem once with internet explorer (forcibly disconnected), it was because my system was infected with a trojan.
Not sure if it is that problem thats affecting you or not but dont hurt checking it out, you are downloading the updater from the official site right?
Also, run a ping trace to see if there is an error somewhere between your connection and the CoH servers. -
Our SG run LG races now and then, if anyone can rack up 7 friends we might be up for a challenge.
Rules: 5th difficulty, no ghosting (pretty much what you agro you kill), no temps. Probably a few other similar rules that i cant recall at the moment.
Normally we decide two leaders, or one of us challenge someone else, and then 16 show up and the leaders pick one after the other schoolyard style but i suppose we could do it with a pre-decided team.
Like i said, would have to run it by the rest if anyone is interested but they have shown interest in challening someone else before. Best time so far is 1:07:08... -
I run 5-6 TF's a week and out of them at the very most one is ghosted, and usually not any. I prefer doing it the normal way, and usually on 4th diff, and is in no rush to complete stuff.
It all depends on the attitude of the players doing it, if they are there only to get some merits in the end that attitude will collide with mine. Thankfully i'm in a SG where most players share my view of how to do things and who rather do a TF slow on 4th diff and have more fun instead of ghosting it on 1st diff and get the reward faster. -

Enk I think the idea is to remove the interruptions rather than make more of them.
You know in Grandville with the big TV's on the walls and you can see Lord Recluse? I think he means using that technology but adding sound throughout the mission. So you could stop and watch the TV's or just skip right on by.
[/ QUOTE ]
I see, yeah that would be nice, not really a cut-scene more like NPC text from a monitor then.
Btw adding sound? Granted i havent had my game sound turned on in over a year but is there really voice-overs on the cutscenes? -
This thread reminded me about an incident a few weeks ago, was teaming happily and being the leader of a 6-man team when i got a tell saying "Do you have room?", no AT or level given so i had to do stop and look him up instead in the middle of the mish. Turns out this guy was 7 levels below us (mid 40's team) and we had no sk spot.
Before i can reply i get the exact same tell from the same guy again. I might have been a bit grumpy that day but i decided to reply "Yes." since we had 2 spots free. Ofc. since he was lower level than us and no sk spot i did not actually invite him, but we had the room...
Anyways 5 mins later he sends a new tell asking why i have not invited him and i politely reply that while we have room on the team, we dont have room on the team for him.
I must have been in an awful mood that night... -
I try to always reply but sometimes i just forget, or if it is a tell saying nothing but "invite meh" i sometimes cba.
-
Dont really like the idea, there are some cut-scenes i like and plenty i dont like. Main reasons i would object to this is:
1) Constants interruptions. Most cut-scenes are nice first time you see them, but after the 20th time i just tend to alt-tab and browse the net rather than watch the same thing again. And one mish with like 5 scenes i cant skip? No thanks...
2) They aint that impressive. Sorry but with a few exeptions (last mish in LRSf, Dr. Aeon one in STF) i dont really like the cut-scenes in CoX, they dont look good enough to warrant the interruption for me. -
Huh, im not gonna get into a big discussion here but i like the changes. A lot. I hardly ever PvP'd pre i13, and i hardly ever PvP now. But when i do it now i enjoy it more, less extreme. I still die, i still get owned by some but it feels like i got a chance and its more fun. Its no longer a blaster sees me and Aim, Bu, two (or one) shots me. And i like the healing supression.
I dont know all the changes and i might not like them all, if i knew them, but for the first time since i started playing CoX im seriously considering PvP on a regular basis. So i like them. -
Or, it might be because pets dont like Oil slick and tend to go crazy if they have to enter it. Tried a Ninja/TA and had no choice but to respec out of Oil slick, the by far best power in the set...

These are a mixed bag compiled of some changes to the current Task Forces/Strike Forces.
Imperious Co-op Task Force
Take out the shadow cysts
Remove the number of Shadow Cysts to 5. Reasoning: 10 shadow cysts makes this mission tedious and boring.
[/ QUOTE ]
Its not a hard or even that long mish. On top of that it is a mish full of khelds and unique in TF's, i see no reason at all to change this mish. I love it.
[ QUOTE ]
Retake Cimerora
Tone down Romulus' HP and Damage a bit. Reasoning: So Romulus can become easier with unusual and slightly weaker ATs/powersets.
[/ QUOTE ]
No and No, its more of a challenge but with some practise it aint even that hard. Done this with several un-orthodox team setups.
[ QUOTE ]
Positron Task Force
Track down the Clockwork minion
Remove it. Reasoning: It's boring, pointless, and it makes the Task Force unnecessarily longer.
[/ QUOTE ]
Posi TF might need a makeover but this is far down on any change i could think of.
Your other changes are based on the storyline and i dont see the point tbh. Maybe change them but not just jank them out. -
This does not make me a happy camper... Two badges i will never be able to get, that loads of other badgehunters already have. And for what reason? Some Dev with an extreme control complex found an error in his spread-sheat?
Its a totally pointless change that does not improve the game in any way, all it does is _remove_ content from the game, remove a reason for me to flashback Guassians arc. It does not add anything, fix any issues or in any way improve quality of life for the players. All it does is give the players grief who already spent loads of time trying to get this badge. Pointless.
Good Job and time well spent Devs! *facepalm* -
On its own my vote would go to a Cold Corr, but since you are asking for a partner to a Nekro/Poison MM i would rule out cold. Why? Since it has no -To-Hit and while it will make it alot easier to kill the AV the only damage mitigation would be from slowing it down and ice shields. Poisons debuffs already debuff a alot of the same things that a cold would do.
Rad, maybe, but my first choice would be a dark corr. Floring its -To-Hit, big AoE heal for all the pets. Also, the lich, fluffy and the corr would all be debuffing it with -To-hit. In normal cases it might even be over-kill but against an AV there is no such thing as overkill
Im unsure if a rads -To-Hit debuff plus the lich (and weaken i guess but its pretty small) is enough to completly disable an AV, at level 45+ that is. It might be, but i would go dark anyways i think.
If the partner was a brute i would say cold, taken down plenty of AV's partnered with only a brute on my cold corr. -
Accidentally switched the slotting of speed boost and siphon speed when i respecced, and buying a respec recipe to fix it ASAP.

Nice guide agree with some things, and disagree with others.
I have in the past ended up in screaming fights with empaths when they ask for opinions on their "great pure healzor build" and i say its awful unless you always got the need to spam heals non-stop, and if so your team sucks.
Focus on your primary by all means, but when you are in the mid 30's i see no reason exept for stubborness not to have 2 attacks slotted so you can help with the fighting part when the team is steamrolling.
But then again, thats just my opinion... -

Dark is like fire, when they didnt fix the heal yet. You can hit great numbers on SL, decent on the other side, but you fail at any issue that can kill a tank.
End drain, -recharge, -slow, -tohit, -stack stun (inv, stone and ice can counter this each their own way), but mostly.. a HP buff. (WP by default, rest has HP boost).
[/ QUOTE ]
Dark got end drain protection from Murky cloud, for the rest... Yeah. But to be honest, a full heal every
10-12 sec is pretty sweet and in many cases make up for the lack of +HP. And if you bother slotting murky cloud for resist damage you can run around with 80% psi resist, not incredibly useful but have its fun moments.
[ QUOTE ]
Imho 500mil aint worth it to make a set viable, inv stone and ice out of the box (after def vs res chance) can work out very well, fire need a minor tweak (alot tohit to keep consume hitting).
[/ QUOTE ]
Agreed, dark have issues, i still love playing it but it definitely got issues, would not recommend the set to ppl new to the game. -
Well, not exactly the same but i have a FF/dark fender who tried it. Was in the same position as you, figured it was nice to floor thier ToHit but ran 4 toggles. I tried it and i respecced out of it shortly thereafter. The -ToHIt debuff did not last long enough to turn the fight in most cases, and the drawbacks from losing my toggles was massive.

No self heal, no regen bonus... Looks like all the fantasy concepts goes out the window then, not gonna be playing a medieval toon that has to use a supermarket goods scanner after each fight to heal himself.
[/ QUOTE ]
"All" fantasy concepts? Can't immediately bring to mind any fantasy tales (mythic or modern) with self-healing or regen-type shields in them.
[/ QUOTE ]
Problem for me is that i can see Aid Self being mandatory for a solo scrapper, and while i like aid self game wice, animation dont fit with a non-modern concept.
As for a heal/regen fitting with a shield concept... I cant recall any comicbook character who uses flames for protection that can heal themself either. I.e. dont look how it have been implemented traditionally, make it fit for the concept in CoH.
... Or just do as been suggested before and make aid self animation dependent on origin...
Note, i will still play Shield set, i will just do it with a flashy grren shield and sword instead of honest steel. -

Soothing Aura: While this power is active all nearby allies will be healed by Soothing Aura every couple of seconds for a small portion of their health.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hang on. Did the devs just create a SpamHeal power?
I can see this getting annoying fast!
[/ QUOTE ]
Nullify Pain on auto then toggle on Soothing aura = double spam heals.
