Anything! Ranging from simple cossie contests to pvp events to daredevil runs! We need them back!

I spend most of my time and effort these days trying to come up with more alternative social events for defiant seeing as most people are bored of cossy comps, that and i lack the money for organizing anything big, especially since my wallets still recovering from the winter event competition i did

US got like millions going away everyday! Has everybody EU side gotten selfish lately and using it for their own personal needs?

Don't look at me, I gave everything I had away last October/Nov, but I agree, player-led competitions and Intiatives are always nice!. We have had some nice player competitions in the past, Freshly squished:Friend or Foe, The Supreme Superbeing Awards, X4:Evolution, The Rogue Isles Race - etc.
Heres to 2009 and more great player events!.

in reply to this.... mainly yes, and u can blame the markets for this, the best recipies are stupidly expensive and im just not talking about purps or the TF pool recipies.
I dont mind give 5mill here 5 mill there but i certainly dont do it all the time. and nor is that an invitation to ask for it.
Ive tried to run a few events (1 failed due to a lack of organisation and planning (it was a spur of the moment thing)), but all the badge hunting events ive ran over the last 2-3weeks have been a huge success, im even thinking bout starting up a TF/SF/Trail day again.
Neway there are certain events going on just not many that gave out the "huge" prizes they once did give. I find being part of a community that is as good as this one is and excellent reward enough in its self.
P.S. I still would enter in cozzie comps just for fun and giggles becoz my cozzies never win (prolly to colourful for sme ppl)

I think competitions are good, Although the huge prizes are not the motivation for me. A good TF or badges at the end are a good enough reason for me to do things.
Although I do agree that there needs to be more 'going on'
I must say I'm prefering Omega's events that he's running than the flood of competitions we used to have cause it brings the community together with a common purpose (one that isn't to compete against each other for inf)
I hadn't really noticed the lack of them in general though I still miss the old Paragon Dance Parties that happened when I first started playing

A PvP week in the Arena (or in Pocket D) with different theme each day?
Say: Fire theme for day one; Dark for day two and so on
Or: Tankers for day one; MM for day two and so on
After that we can crown 'The Toughest' of each AT.
Our SG run LG races now and then, if anyone can rack up 7 friends we might be up for a challenge.
Rules: 5th difficulty, no ghosting (pretty much what you agro you kill), no temps. Probably a few other similar rules that i cant recall at the moment.
Normally we decide two leaders, or one of us challenge someone else, and then 16 show up and the leaders pick one after the other schoolyard style but i suppose we could do it with a pre-decided team.
Like i said, would have to run it by the rest if anyone is interested but they have shown interest in challening someone else before. Best time so far is 1:07:08...
Did it in 58 mins and a couple of sec once. No ghosting, but we might have let the heroes die in the 3rd mission, not to sure about that anymore.
Honoree went down in less than 8 seconds, that was fun ^^.
