  1. Yep, it has. An AE baby friend of mine didn't know where to BUY SOs, and had his attacks six slotted for endurance reduction.

People think a Scrapper that can survive a +2 Boss encounter alone is teh shitzors, when it really just means it's a well slotted Scrapper. (I've had countless people praise me for outliving unenhanced AE tanks on my Scrapper)

    Stone/WP

For Stone, I don't like Fault too much. But that's probably just personal opinion. Other than that, pick Stone Fist OR the Mallet, I wouldn't suggest both.

For Willpower, take everything but Resurgence and Strength of Will. Resurgence and SoW are pretty good, they're just not necessary. Everything else is.

It is possible to soft cap to typed damage but you will be sacrificing a lot to get there. You'd be better off slotting for regeneration and recovery and typed defense.

    [/ QUOTE ]
What do you mean by "Soft cap to typed damage" and then saying it's better to go for "typed defense?"
  4. I've heard some people say no, not at all. I've heard others say yes, to everything. Then I've hear some say just to E/NE/F/C damage. (as that's what Heightened Senses gives defense to)

Well, I want clarification. And the mathlete Scrapper boards HAVE to be the best place to ask. Can it be done, or not? Of course, I'd like a little more in the way of proof than a "yes," "no" or "maybe" =]

And if it wasn't implied, I mean SCRAPPER Willpower. Not the Tank rendition.

i nevers invite regens to mah teams. they are teh gimp.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Indeed, I could never accomplish anything decent on my own regen scrapper, so I shelved him.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And yet a regen user started a thread where he took out 4 AVs....

    waaaaaaaaitaminute....

    [/ QUOTE ]
I think Regen is less powerful on teams because any toon that has healing capabilities will probably heal you as you're clicking Reconstruction/Dull Pain/Instant Healing/MoG. This puts your clickies down for the count, and has wasted your Defender/Troller friends endurance. Not very useful.

However, I have seen Regen'ers tell Empaths that they don't need to be healed. Which works, but most Empaths just see low HP and click heal other. (Whenever I play an Empath, I'm usually caught clicking my OWN name, haha).

Willpower, on the other hand, is more team friendly in that regard. Your HP won't take as fluctuate as much. Also, teams can cause lag, futher hindering Regen.

Solo, however, I'd say the sets are the same. RttC doesn't get as much mileage solo. And Regen's clickyness can be just as effective as WP's toggles.
  6. Yeah! (Pick MEEEE!)
    Go Devs, go!
  7. I like the Dual Blades...
But just because they look cooler =]
  8. So this is the build I'm currently running. I'm not sure where I should go next in terms of IOs, so I thought I'd ask the Scrapper forums =] I'm sitting on a Respec, so rearranging slots is no problem. I ultimately want to solo AVs (I haven't tried in a while, though) Suggest/Critique/Advise away, but don't go super-purples on me:

  9. Martial Arts is really fun =]
It looks awesome, if anything. As for a secondary, I'd go with Willpower. But if you'd rather not repeat a set, you could try Regen. My MA/Regen Stalker is pretty damn good... but then again she's a Stalker, not a Scrapper. They're different. A nice thing about MA is that there is no redraw penalty when using other powers. So it won't "interrupt" as much.

But if you *Still* don't like Regen, you can give SR a whirl. It's a late bloomer, and you'll want to smash your keyboard for a good 30 levels... but after that, it's amazing.

My last suggestion is Invuln. Good survivability against all but psi, and very basic (not clicky)... like WP (with the exception of dull pain). You'll probably run into Endurance problems, though. That is what always makes me look at Regen and WP
  10. Parry, Parry, Parry, Parry, PARRY.
Put three defense IOs (or SOs if you prefer) into it, and two application will soft-cap you in Melee and lethal.

Also, make sure you have Fast Healing, Integration, Health and Reconstruction.

You can also look into the Fighting Pool (Tough and Weave) for added defense. Your endurance can take the hit if have both Stamina and Quick Recovery.

    Fiery Melee/???

What goes well with FM? The only thing I won't take is SD... too sick of it. But I'm open to any other suggestions. But please give at least a bit of a reason.
  12. Well, the Blaster's nuke damage is much more impressive, I'll tell you that. It doesn't *hurt* to announce your nuke, but it's not necessary. People won't get mad at you for destroying a mob. Just be careful to back out when you're done. It's important to know your teammates too, you'll need to stay near the enemies if you've got a Kin using Transference.

Nukes also make excellent panic buttons, mostly when you're trying to deal with a nasty ambush or double aggro or something...
  13. electric_emu

    Am I alone?

I find it more appealing on Tanks to be honest. The numbers for Scrappers aren't quite as nice... and soft-capping is freakin' expensive. But yeah, SC is fun...
    So you're not alone.
  14. electric_emu

    Best Mob Killer

Anything WP will perform well, given some mitigation. I've got a BS/WP that can last forever against a fair few level 52 bosses, so long as I'm using Parry. If you want to be quicker than BS (mostly ST damage), try Fire or Spines. Be warned on Fire, though... there's no mitigation in it.

*EDIT* Dark is extremely effective, as well. The heal in it is great, and the damage boost from Soul Drain is awesome.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
Broadsword/Willpower and Katana/Willpower are both ridiculously great combos with nutty survivability with just SOs. The only two mobs that actually ever gave me trouble were Overseers (which I only really fought because I wanted the katana model) and Mu Guardians (because of EM Pulse).

    [/ QUOTE ]
    I'll second this.
I've got a BS/WP at 50, and am just getting into IO sets.
He can tank decent sized groups so long as Parry is kept up with. You'll run into very, very little that will present a problem. The aforementioned Overseers are annoying. Also, Toxic damage can get to you, if you're not careful.
Other than that, toggle up and cut things down!
Simple. And all it takes is SOs.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
I'd like to see Time Control. Slow down, speed up, freeze time. Shadowy time echo decoys of yourself. Or a tier 9 that ports in a second you from the near future, so that for a brief period, every power you cast is doubled. You're your own pet!

[/ QUOTE ]I love this idea. For holds, you could "freeze" time, but the rest of the set would probably focus on slows and such. It would probably share a power of two with Gravity Control (can you say Wormhole?)
  17. electric_emu

    Earth/TA?

    So how is it?
It seems like it would have amazing control... but no damage...
I plan on teaming a lot, anyway...
    Anyone have any thoughts?

    Holy the Jesus!
    =D
My MA/Regen will have her own style!
  19. I know there are a ton of threads on I16 already... but I wanted to express personal excitement in being able to make Regen a DIFFERENT COLOR. =D
  20. I'm pretty psyched. I loved it for 50 levels on my Defender, who knows what we can do on Blasters! =D
  21. electric_emu

    Help me decide.

I'd go with Martial Arts. Quick Recovery handles its relatively high end costs, and the stuns (Cobra Strike, Eagle's Claw and a chance in Storm Kick) can give you time to clicky yourself up. Plus the animations are just too much fun to look at =P

The cons, it's all smashing damage. Dark and Fire both have little resisted damage components. The -To-hit in Dark is excellent for Regen. Avoid Fire, it doesn't expound on Regen at all.
  22. This is my first Corruptor, and I'm looking at something /Dark or /Kin. So what goes well with those two sets? I don't want to go with Fire Blast, as I just hit dinged 50 on a Fire Blaster. And I'm not too sure about Dark Blast (its look just doesn't appeal to me). Other than that, who has suggestions?
  23. I don't see Dark Blast or AR very much.
I see EB paired with Kin a lot... and Rad is often paired with the other Rad.
  24. [ QUOTE ]
    Another vote for Storm.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Same.
The combo meshes really well, and it makes up for Earth's lack of damage.
Plus I just love the concept of Earth/Storm. With Fire as an epic, you can make a master elemental-ist =D
  25. [ QUOTE ]
Hilariously, in the new bubble farms, heals are completely useless.

    [/ QUOTE ]I know!
Tanks are pretty worthless too, as defense isn't required.
It's really sad to see that level 50 Scrapper or Tank that doesn't even use their multitude of toggles.
It's... almost depressing, actually. But Fire/Kins found a new niche, haha
