  1. Hi all - sorry for the lack of regular posts

    Well the MoLGTF was run as intended on the 18th but I wasnt a part of it as I turned up to late and wasnt feeling fantastic as it was.
    Unfortunately Hami hit the tank with some Green attacks (-regen, -healing) and the tank got smacked HARD and died.
    The team continued and completed the LGTF just without the Master badge.

    Last Monday was ITF week so guess what... We unlocked the Geas of the Kind Ones Accolade. Well I tired to but my Internet connection dropped out. Grrrrrr


    This Monday TinMage was the WST (Weekly Strike Target) and we knocked the AV's for six. To be honest Ive done a fair few TinMages this last week and they have all kind of blured together so dont ask who was in each
    During one of them however we decided to LEEEEROY JENKINS!!! the final fight (2 AV's + another 2 AV's after the first AV is down) and took them all to the trash heap with only a few deaths (the Goliath War Walker's foot stomp is a massive PBAoE that was hitting some ppl for almost 100% of their HP).

    Next Monday's WST are the 1st Respecs - but we will see what occurs. Looking at unlocking more Accolades.

    Need build help?

    Hi Aurora,
    I think before we can offer any real advice we will need to know what you want from this toon.
    Do you want high defence?
    Do you want to blap (run into melee and smack things)?
    Is this a team-only toon?

    These can all make a difference.

    For example if you want either of the first two Id strongly recommend getting Tough and Weave.

    A word about Procs.
    The Numina ++ Proc you have in Aid Self will only provides its benefit when you activate the power.
    Instead put it in Health which is ALWAYS on. Same with the Miracle + Proc if you get it.

    For Force of Nature if you use 3 Res/Rech IO's it will put you a tad over ED for both values taking the Resistance from 35% > 50.1% and the Recharge from 1000s (16mins 35secs) > 474s (8mins). By using 3 different Sets you wont get any set bonuses but often its better to get higher Enh Values than set bonuses.

    You are also lacking in AoE attacks with only Energy Torrent hitting more than 1 foe. Explosive Blast and Repulsion Bomb can help fill this hole.
    Expl Blast however has a 3.32mag KB

    Hi Aurora_X,
    after a quick look here's some suggestions:

    - Combat Jumping
    4 jumping slots seems a bit of a waste.
    I usually put in a LoTG +Rech and/or the Karma -KB proc.
    Another option is the Kismet +Acc Proc but with all the Thunderstrikes +7% you prob wont need this.

    - Thunderstrikes (x5)
    By only using 5 Thunderstrikes you are missing out on 2.5% Ranged Defence which you get with the 6th slot.
    This can help make you very hard to hit at range.

    - Build Up
    Replace the 3 Recharge IO's with the Adjusted Targeting: Recharge and ToHit/Rech.
    This takes the recharge from 41.6 > 48.3 seconds but also grants a +2%
    Move the 3rd slot to AIM

    - Energy Torrent
    Look at 5 slotting Posi Blast. The set bonuses are a LOT better (acc is a bit worse but with all your global acc shouldnt be an issue).

    - Super Jump
    What about 2x Blessing of the Zephyr?
    Will grant you additional KB prot (if you use that proc) and also the 2nd slot will give another 1.25% Ranged def.

    - Aim
    Put in 4 Adj Targetings.
    +2% Dam
    +9% Acc

    - Power Boost
    Drop it. It doesnt help with your KB effects.

    - Accrobatics
    Dro pit. You have plenty of -KB from IO's

    - Conserve Evergy
    Dop it. Your EndUse is soooooo low that you should never need it to be honest.

    --- Instead of Power Boost, Accrobatics and Conserve maybe look at taking the Fighting pool (Boxing or Kick, Tough and Weave).


    Thats all I have time for now (at work).
    Id also look at using Sciroccos in Nova.

    Last night we took on the MoITF and MELTED Rommy.

    The only complaint (apart from the lag) was that some people werent able to use their Judgement powers as by the time they got to fire them off most of the mob was already dead.

    Next Monday we will see about doing a MoLGTF.
    Not sure about dealing with Hami and NOT having anyone die so will be doing some research first

    Rularuu Armor

    For headgear how about a helm with an eye in the middle or on top mounted in a raised section (kinda like the vent options on current hemlets).
    Also a closed-faced helm with the eye taking up the the entire front.
    Or the eye on the back of the helm?
    On my SD/BA tank who has both the Rularuu Shield and Axe I say that he is almost unflankable as he can see forward (his eyes), left (shield-eye) and right (axe-eye) at the same time. THATS why his defences are so high.

    Also a circlet headband with a small eye in the middle for those who also want to show off their hair-styles

    For all item pieces an eye/no-eye option should be made (ie: Gloves, Gloves w/eye).

    For non-wearable how about an Eyeball Head "Montrous" option?
  7. Last Wednesdays MoSTF again failed during the last fight with LR.
    We tried a RES tank instead of my DEF tank and all was good until he got hit with LR's Channelgun which applies a -3 end/sec debuff and his End dropped. No End means no Hover and no Res = DEATH.

    Well last night we did it again.
    AND WE KICKED LR'S BUTT!!!!!

    We took our time and killed the Flyer twice (first time it was about done on its circuit so we waited for it to respawn and smacked it silly again).

    Crab Backpack?

    Yes ANY build with ANY Crab power means you have the Backpack on all builds.

    The reason (as far as I understand it) is that Costume slots are not linked to Builds.
    Let me explain:
    Build A = Crab
    Build B = Bane

    If you had a costume selected that did not have the backpack (ie your Bane Costume) but then changed to Build A all your Crab attacks would fire from nowhere.

    If they did implement it so the costume changes based on your Builds power selection you would have to link or lock a Costume Slot to a build (or multiple) something like:
    Costume Slot A = Build 1
    Costume Slot B = Build 2
    Costume Slot C = Build 1, 2, 3
    Costume Slot D = Build 1, 3

    I dont even know if this would be possible?

    Even then it would allow a build change at any location based on your Costume change and currently you can only change builds at the Trainers.
    Unless they still locked Build changes at the Trainers and enforced a Costume change if you current costume is not linked with that Build.
  9. i21 will be the same as previous issues in that:
    the game is based on SO slotting.

    Is an Electric Armor Brute as survivable as an Electric Armor Tank with SO's?
    What about Shield Defence with SO's?

    Any AT comparison is based on SO's not IO Sets.
    Yes I can make my Brute's Defence as high as a Tank with IO Sets but Ill loose +HP, +Regen, +Rech, +Dam, etc.
    I did an IO Set build ages ago for my SD/BA Tank in Mids and got him to just shy of 60% Def to all 3 positions (think I had 62% for Ranged??).

    BUT lost a LOT of +HP and +Rech and +Recovery which made him (in MY opinion) unplayable.

    Instead I went for an average of 52% Def on all 3 (still well above soft-cap) and rounded out other areas. Im often a Main Tank on ITF's that we run at higher levels which as we know has a LOT of -Def.
    I laugh when Im standing there Taunting the CIM's around me and hearing all their swishing noises as they miss. I sometimes feel slack as if Im holding them while my teams mates beat up on them. Sometimes.

    Can some Brutes be as good as Tanks with the same sets? Yes they can.
    Can ALL Brutes be as good as Tanks with the same sets? No.

    We are allowed diversity in out powerset choices so a Tank is not the same as the next Tank. Different Tanks can do different things.
  10. Hi Ev,
    every Monday, Wednesday and Friday an event of some kind is run.
    Mondays are Hero based.
    Wednesday and Fridays are Villain based.
    Occationally an event on the other side will be run (or even a Praetorian event - shock and horror ).

    These are normally started at 8:30pm NSW time (+10 GMT) although in practice it normally takes a bit to get a team formed so the start time is usually 8:45pm.

    Tonight we are going to try (again) for the Master of Statesman and will take our time instead of rushing.

    Im not sure if you have ever done a Master Of before but just in case you havnt for Strike Forces/Task Forces this means NO DEATHS and NO TEMP Powers (like Sands of Mu, Nem Staff, Nukes, Shivans, etc). If a single team member dies (or hits Self Destruct by mistake) the Master Of fails. You can still complete the TF/SF but you dont get the Master Of badge.

    And just to confuse matters Master Of Incarnate Trials are different to Master of SF/TF Instead of No Deaths/Temp powers you have to obtain a few "objectives". An example of this is the BAF Trial - if you allow NO mindwashed prisoners to escape you get a badge. If you get all the badges for that trial you get the Master Of.


    If you have a toon that you think can survive with no deaths then be on by 8:30pm. We advertise in Australia channel first but if we dont get enough responces will also broadcast in JFA2010 or Justice untied channels.
    Invites are on a first come-first served basis.
  11. Hi all,
    last night we attempted (yes attempted) 2 Master of Statesman Task Forces.
    Each failed during the end stage.
    On both we tried a new approach and bypass the Arachnos Flyer.

    First time the sneaky little thing crept up on us and back-stabbed (with its rockets) a squishy while we were clearing the mobs around the base of the statue. We continued and completed the TF but no Masters badge.


    Second time we made it passed the Flyer (HAZAH!!) but during the Towers/LR Taunt stage the flyer appeared and was causing too much havok so we retreated via TP to the LR Statue.
    Woe and behold however Lord Recluse follows (we thought the distance would be sufficient to loose agro).
    But... WE SURVIVED!!!! (take that Flyer).

    We then proceed to pound on the Towers while my Tank (SD/BA) hover-taunts LR.
    But despite my 80+% Ranged Defence LR is getting in a lot of lucky shots with his Channelgun dealing over 3000 points of damage per hit.
    With my 3141 HP I was surviving but popping greens faster than ever before.
    Hell I even popped a Med Purple taking my Ranged Defence to over 100%.
    Shortly after that purple I got hit by 2 attacks in quick succession which dropped me dead.

    My Tank has successfully Hover-Taunted LR many many times and has never taken so many hits. Even a recent run with my Invul Tank that is barely IO slotted didnt get hit as often.
    That being said it is all luck of the die (or RNG) and Lord Recluse was having a great day (or using loaded dice)


    After much teeth-nashing and growls we defeated LR - but again no Masters badge.

    We will be attempting this again on Wednesday at 8:30pm NSW time but this time we will NOT be ignoring the Flyer.
    It causes to much chaos when it appears while Towering/Taunting LR.
  12. Ive been getting the same for the last 3-4 days.
    Even just standing alone at the Black Market shows LOTS of red spikes in /netgraph 1.

    I have added the recommended TCP/UDP ports to my Modem/Router, updated my graphics drivers and tried running the game with my AV software disabled.

    I also lowered my graphics setting while running a TF and it didnt help at all.

    Last week I was running the game perfectly with no lag at all (except the ITF and BAF/Lambda but we aleady know about those).

    tonight a group of heroes got together and grabbed the Atlas Medallion (+5 Max End).
    We also took on the Moonfire TF to help get the 200 War Wolves and 200 Vampir badges.

    We started it off at +4/*8 as I forgot my difficulty settings and got wiped on the Flashback mission "Rescue Fortune Teller from the Circle of Thorns" (level 14).
    So we restarted back at +0/*1 and had a MUCH easier time (DOH!!!).

  16. Id like to see an Energy 'Scan' visual.

    This could be either Cone or PBAoE where you pull out a device (hand-held, hovering box, etc) or scan with ur eyes (may be difficult for the PBAoE version though) and a beam of light appears and 'scans' from one side to the other (or in a circle for PBAoE). This would be a 'wedge' beam.
    This could maybe have a secondary affect of -Def (like Laser Beam Eyes has).


    Similar but a little bit different: a Toxic line-spray.
    Similar to above you shot a line of toxic stuff like a hose from one side to the other.

  18. Hi all,
    yesterday was a public holiday for most of Australia so the channel seemed to be a bit light.

    An Apex was run by @Plantatia and as there were not enough Heroes around (@level 50 with an Alpha Slotted) we allowed the dirty Villains to join (the enemy of my enemy is still a stinking Villain but better than the alternative).

    This Apex took a while to complete and Battle Maiden took longer to take down but this game is always a learning curve for someone and for the more experienced players that just because MOST people understand how a particular S/TF runs or how a particular mechanic works doesnt mean everyone else does as well.

    Thinking about Electric Field, Quills, etc. Can the visuals increase based on their ENH value (10' -> 12' -> 15') and what will they look like?
  22. Tonight I ran some lowbie Hero content (I forgot how annoying it is to get a new ctc, run all the way to another zone and the have to run all the way back again - FRUSTRATING - at least I have Ninja/Beast Run).

    So to avoid a brain haemorage the following ppl joined me for some good ol' paper missions:

  23. I made a lion based toon (w/ mane) with no tail and made him deep red/brown and most ppl that saw him thought he was a bear and where did I find the "Bear" option?

    Drove me to frustration so I changed him in the end.

    I am hoping for a future update to the Animal Pack but in reality I think they will release Animal Pack II at some point.

    They gave us a monkey emote but no monkey costume?
    But a Gorilla Tank is just so damn sexy sounding.

    WST Suggestion

    If there is a minimum time NEEDED (for whatever reason) then increase the spawn count.

    Have a mob spawn every 2 mins - this also means if the team is too slow you will get stacked spawns so you cant dawdle.
    Maybe 2 mins is too fast as not everyone will be running IO Sets (game is based around SO's).

    Alternatively/in addition have it so the reactor AUTOMATICALLY takes damage (the foe's damaged a cooling rod, etc) and we HAVE to use those glowies to stop the reactor from further damage - not to heal it.

    And at the end give us an EB/AV based on team size.

    OK I can see that.
    To me however it seems more of a reference to "The States" - a term used by many to mean the USA (aka - im going on a holiday to the States).

    But that is how I hear the term and Im sure others will differ - we are individuals after all.
