Quote:i've got toons with mag 44 protection that resist force bolts.Common high-mag knockback powers are:
Lift/Levitate, mag 35 when slotted
Power Push, mag 46 when slotted
Force Bolt, mag 54 when slotted
Gale, only mag 31 or so when slotted but it tends to double itself
You'll want to shoot for, ideally, 41 points or more, in order to stop Power Push (knockback protection doesn't diminish as fast as knockback slotting, so 41 points of KB protection will stop a mag 46 KB). I'm not sure exactly what value is required to stop Force Bolt, though I've heard 45 might do it. For zone and kickball you should be fine with 41. -

i use my fire/cold/mace on stalker heavy teams in kickball and if the two emps are acceptable.
my sonic/cold/leviathan is a lot more sturdy and i use it for basically every other occasion. -

if i had a dime for every time i die because i'm either toggled and movement suppressed or heal suppressed, i'd be rich.
that's what i expected from this thread.
therefore i will threadjack this thread. -

dark/cold needs sharks to be viable as a duel toon.
if you plan on teaming, you might as well roll a different primary (sonic is my suggestion). -

Grav/Fire can be a lot of fun.

Quote:the -def is also really really useful when you're running around RV and have to deal with MoGing regins every 2 mins.Rad has three things going for it that Sonic doesn't have:
* Stun as part of the attack chain
* Really fast-animating and fast-recharging tier 1 attack
* Extreme proc-ability
Personally, I've got Neutrino Bolt slotted with 4 procs on my Rad/Therm and once you get a target into Scourge range those procs really add up. I'm not going to debate whether Sonic is better, but I really do like the Rad.
i say rad is a better 1v1, and zone set than sonic for sure.
in a team situation sonic is just beastly. having a stun you can spend slots on, on top of having a good secondary effect is really really nice.
countdown spikes with 1-2 stalkers, a blaster and a sonic hitting the stun makes it so bad spikes can kill good players.
after spec'ing my sonic/cold and trying it out in both KB and zone, i'll never roll any corr that is not sonic/* if the toon's intended for kickball. -

my spines/regen has 2.5end/s recovery.
it's enough to spam impale for about 3 minutes straight without running out end.. which is a lot. -

I have been back to the CoX scene for about a week now. When I came back all my buds welcomed me back with open arms, for that I am very appreciative because I know I am pretty rusty still. I have also made quite a few new friends that I had never met. I really think that the PvP community is clouded with this poor reputation that very few actually live up to.
I joined up on the KB matches and still had a blast. The only time I ever see a person "fat kidded" with a viable build is because the person has a bad reputation they have created themselves. The only other times is when we just have too many people (ie more then 16).
Anyways, I really like the idea of having a draft and sharing the "PvP Elite" talent. TPvPL was always great fun and a lot of new players gained a solid bit of knowledge from participating.
