    Where to now?

Problems with all other games I have played.

    1. Action oriented. Perhaps I'm just weird, but I hate action games. Champions Online, DCUO and GW2. Having to actually dodge around is not how I want to play.

    2. Cast bars. WoW, Rift, GW2 and other games that have cast bars. These are just anoying.

    3. No high amount of 'evasion'. Most games like Rift, you can only get up to like a 25% chance of not getting hit. This is dumb.

    4. No regeneration. No matter how awesome my character is, if I AFK in a mob of level 1s, they can eventually kill me with their 1 damage at a time. This is dumb.

    5. Stupid numbers like 'I has over 9 thousand armor' which is translated into 25% damage reduction. Add in the fact that if any spell cast at me ignores all my armor stat... More dumb.

    6. Gear. I dislike gear. I like modifying my powers, not putting on one of the eleventy billion different pieces of gear that can get oh so confusing and out leveled in a day.

    7. I HATE SKILL TREES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    8. I don't like living off of potions.

If I can find a game that meets those requirements.... I will have found City of Heroes :/ and nothing else. This might not make sense, but I see myself as a hardcore casual gamer. I can play for hours on end, but I don't ever divote 100% of my attention to the game. I am usually watching tv, a movie, reading something or just listening to music. The two games I can do this with are City of Heroes and Pokemon.
  2. I believe people who had yearly subs got their subs canceled, and are now premiums. The only people that get this month as VIP are the one and three monthers. anyone else got chopped off.

I am not even sure if the year subscribers are getting refunds.
  3. How much of CoH is covered under the IP patent?

Is there anyway we can start from scratch, and make a new game called City of Titans or something? Using some of the tech and knowledge that the devs and other people have ammassed over the years of fiddling with the code?

    REVAMP EM set

Energy Melee needs to stay bad, in fact could use a nerf or two. That way when they release Dual Pistols Melee and Whip Melee, they can make them crappy, but point to EM and say "At least its not as bad as EM".

    : Tongue in Cheek:
  5. Perma PA is not as binary as many on this forum suggest.

It is very possible to die even when PA is out. When you are plowing content, you can get ahead of them, sometimes they get stuck on three minions and let the AV bee line for you. I strongly suggest getting soft capped. It is an extra layer of protection. It will let you start setting up your hazards (Spec Terror, Tar patch or Sleet) before the PA catch up to you and gather aggro. Also, there is always a brief 1-3 seconds where you are summoning them, and the whole entire mob's focus shifts to you. It REALLY sucks when you die AS you are summoning them.

Just like having a tank on the team does not always guarantee you from avoiding aggro, so is having PA out.

Don't get me wrong. PA is AMAZING, and lets you do some pretty cool stuff. But it is not an 'I WINZ' button.

Now, I don't know how other people play their Illusionists. But I play mine like a scrapper. Perhaps other people are different. Staying well out of range, and playing safe. That is just not my cup of tea.
  6. Yup, but its also something I don't need. I can just as easily wait till my bio armor brute hits 47 to slot it. The Panacea proc is not a game changer, its just nice.
  7. I got a code... I don't really like it or use it either. If I could unbind it to my account, I would let you have it... for a fee, of course.
  8. Shadow Fall > Sup Invis.

Shadow Fall + Super Speed = Invisible.

With no defense debuffs with Dark Affinity, you really want PA to have ED cap of Acc, Dam and Rech.

I believe I made an Ill/Dark on this forum recently. You can soft cap all defense and cap S/L resistance if you use Primal Mastery.
  9. Really want a level 10, that's non negotiable.

I use barrier for debuff protection as well as ability to rez all the other people that die when I live.

    Mothership Solo?

Make 3 other accounts, make stalkers and use them to click bombs. Won't even have to level them.
  12. Nothing lost besides Alignment merits. The Paragon Market Alignment change is not a power, but a token.
  13. I have 2 level 50 Panacea procs that I would be willing to trade for 1 level 10 Panacea proc.

Anyone out there willing to trade?
  14. The toughest all around tank combination has to be Elec/Ma/Soul. Hand's down.

You can have almost perma Energize, soft capped Melee/Range/AoE defense AND capped S/L/E resistances.
  15. Well, noting the Sorcery is not a Patron or Ancilary pool, and the power pool is pretty dumb, I don't see it being anymore amazing with or without Sorcery.
  16. Having Cardiac is helpful. I love it on my Elec tank. I like the extra 10% or more resistance and the end discount is just gravy. I don't want to have to spam Power Sink every time its up. Even with cardiac, sometimes I run out of endurance when I'm not paying attention and using Power Sink.
  17. Perhaps, It's 800 points to go from Hero/Vig to Vill and the other way around. If he so wishes.
  18. If by market power you mean black market tp power. No. You cannot use it if you are a hero. You must do 10 vig tips. Vig morality mission. 10 more vil tips. Vil morality mission. Then ppp arc. Then switch back if you are so inclined.
  19. Not bad, but it can use some work.

Oddly enough, too much S/L defense. Just shoot for 45% S/L, then try to fit in some E/N defense, HP or Recharge.

Energize should be 5 slotted with Doctored Wounds. All but the Heal/End one. Don't even bother taking Power Surge, the few times you need it, you can use Insps and not crash.

I respect your wanting to keep with mu mastery. That would work, just slot E-Fences for damage. Charged Brawl has better DPA than Havoc Punch. I do not suggest getting both powers. Jacob's Ladder can be used as a ST, with the benefit of hitting multiple targets if the mobs are bunched. Why are you slotting 2 Gift of the ancients? Chain Induction is a good attack, and could use another slot.

I suggest Cardiac Alpha for more resist and less reliance on Power Sink. Or, Spiritual so that attacks come faster, and Energize and Hasten are almost perma.

This is your build with my suggestions.

  20. I am biased against WP, as some of you might know

So imo, just about every set is better that WP except maybe FA.
  21. Insps work wonders for those fringe cases.

From personal experience, even with Elude, its a 50/50 chance of surviving the Overseer's since they have around 150% to hit.
  22. I always liked Vengeful Slice's animation. Just wish it did more damage for the length of time it takes to animate.
  23. It does look really good on paper.

But from my experience, it falls a little short. Jack of all Trades, master of none dealio. For IOing, start with such low S/L defense that you really have to cram a lot of bonuses in, which leaves little room for +rech bonuses, which the set desperately needs to keep the 3 click powers going. With no slow or defense debuff resistance, your two main sources of mitigation can be completely neutered if you are not careful late game.

I'ts got virtually the same amount of def/res as Will Power. But when you IO a WP, you can just focus on Defense and HP bonuses. With Bio Armor, it needs Defense, HP and Recharge. I'm sure a lot of you have tried to soft cap a WP scrap/brute/stalker. While it is possible, you have to spend almost all your slots getting the S/L defense up high enough, but WP does not benefit at all from +rech, so the +rech can be neglected. However, Bio Armor also needs almost perma Hasten levels of recharge to make the clicks work great.

:/ Just too much to fight for in IOing for Bio Armor.
  24. Choosing to NOT take fly because of Apex and Keyes would be like choosing fly because of the STF and Hamidon (and the Shadow Shard)
