There are puddles in Potter's Field that don't actually splash.

I discovered this with my MM and hopefully it also applies to Blasters but if you drop a mine and nothing goes into melee to detonate it, the icon allows you to know how many mines you have active. While Trip Mines will eventually detonate on their own if left alone long enough, there is no max limit outside of the speed of recharge and their own inherant timer. Also, Trip Mine will not activate while phased nor will it activate if a phased mob hits it so it allows you to "prep time" a nasty surprise for mobs with predictable phases like Lord Winter, Nemesis, and those Council bosses.

It seems to have a drastic difference between powersets. I'm an oddball who tries to avoid Stamina at all costs with varied rates of success and noticed that some don't need it. I would advocate shortening the recharge time on Rest since it isn't really "spammable" due to the danger of getting hit while using it.

Fist of Tyranny is mad strong yo. My game got electro punched even though I wasn't near an ambush wave (crashed at an incredibly random time when re-entering the mission from hospital). One of the Brutes also perma-crashed in the final battle. Due to personal stuff I got called away so we all agreed to quit, especially since Reichsman somehow despawned and reappeared with full life.
Main issue was confusion/unpreparedness in the final battle as far as the temps were concerned. I didn't immediately see the side rooms, coordination on the Dominator super hold, etc. Plus, while I don't mind having huge ambushes in the room itself since it keeps you on your toes, refilling the entire map got a little daunting. Seems like that final battle is quite momentum based--full tilt immediately or risk a (seemingly) insurmountable recovery. Most are looking to rematch so the chance of succeeding the second time seems likely. Generally it was a solidly played and well mixed team.
Claws/Willpower Stalker (me)
Sonic/Rad Corruptor (Necrotech Master)
Energy/Invul? Brute (Lion's Pryde)
Fire/Elec Dominator (seen him around and know he's a good player)
Necro/Dark Mastermind (teamed with her on a few pugs. Pets occasionaly over aggro but otherwise decent)
Elec/Elec Brute (he crashed final mission but he played well and is looking forward to a rematch)
While I'm trying to think of an appropriately snarky comment for Castle on giving Reichsman THAT MUCH hp, not really bitter on the loss. It's not commonly run, known to be hard, and I'm still sorta new. Plus, I failed my first Sewer Trial so it just takes practice. -
Quote:Cool, got a chance to listen to it and glad you enjoyed the arc. Heh, I must note that the party was the girls' idea as opposed to Abiter Sands since if it was his idea the motives would seem a little questionable.Actually, the archives are back up and running, so you can get it from the KJSR main site.

This. I mean, it's scary if some random ninja leaps out and cuts a huge chunk out of your buddy but wouldn't it it technically be scarier if the guy next to you died from a single hit? I don't get why Demoralize wasn't granted on kill.

Reichsman: 1
Team Villainy: 0
But stay tuned folks! It smells like the rematch of 2010 is in the making. -
Intriguingly, mob design seems to be the main thing that hurts Stalker teaming ability. Things like Tsoo Sorcerers that need to be taken out NOW are what a Stalker works best with but generally those are the mobs people avoid. An all Stalker ITF has been done but in general practice the mobs are a bit sameish to each other so they aren't as valued in normal teaming. I'm biased but in most situations I'd prefer a well played Stalker over brootsmash since higher level Stalkers can actually scrap pretty well.

Quote:Most intriguing.Another idea that I was planning with a few of the Victory regulars was a "Victory PvP TF" we spoke about this at length as well FMP. You would need to develop a story line (or use the ones I had outlined before) that would involve a leader (someone from PvPEC or PERC) forming a team to run this TF they would get clues and the mission objectives from contacts (Reps acting as NPC contacts) "Go to Warburg and escort the lost scientist to the hero base". Then have Scooter dressed as a scientist standing under the globe, the TF team has x time to move scooter to the Hero base, while other reps act as the oppossing force and attempt to kill the escort team (clearly they can't kill scooter or he could just hospital). If they succed they get a good clue to where their next mission is, if they fail the get a poorly worded clue. "Meet the double agent at the Talos Ruby Arena Kiosks" vs "XXXXX said they would meet you at the fight club in Talos".
The team that runs the PvP tf the fastest wins. So the better you complete the missions the better your clues are to where your next mission is. -
Forgot to mention that the shirt will be matching the side of the toon that is being played.
Also, I'd like to take this time to ask what kinds of event would you guys like to see for PvP. Can't make promises but since PvPEC is for you, we need to hear what want you want. -
It's generally every Saturday and Sunday afternoon and every Tuesday evening so it wouldn't hurt to join up regardless.

Another issue connected to this is that proliferation is seemingly problematic with most ATs because the devs make direct ports and shift the numbers around instead of outright changing the set(s).

Quote:-How will the temp powers in the Reichsman SF be handled? With "new" ATs it could mean either overlap or brand new temps. So, can you think of any questions for the devs about GR that haven't even been asked yet?
-Will the need to address redside temps prompt any form of changes to the blueside version? -
Technically I know that but my Stalker is my only 50. The fact that it can be run without a perfect pentad is why more players need to be experimenting with it. I've been waiting since I15 to check this SF out.

Quote:There is one connection between the two... http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=133915This is interesting, since he is an alternate Statesman, and thus probably also an Incarnate of Zeus. I don't think that it was an intentional parallel, though, but the unintended consequence of the retcon that they used to make Statesman and Recluse's conflict a little more personal by making them family. Initially, though it wasn't expressly stated in the game, Ms. Liberty was the granddaughter of Maria Jenkins, who seemed to have never been much closer to Statesman than a former ally.

That...was already going to be taken care of...
The more the merrier I guess. -

Thanks, that worked.

While it's very interesting that Situational Awareness could make control both more dangerous and more important/reward there's something else that went through my head. Situational Awareness would actually give a drastic improvement in worth to Stalkers. Their ability reduce hard targets would actually work perfectly with the system.
I'm pretty sure a weaker version could be applied to the current game without making difficulty spike too hard. Allow heals and some controls to build aggro. The amount would be very low but it would stack over time and degrade slowly. This way a single O2 Boost won't get you blown to kingdom come yet enemies would sort of notice some members of the team. With enough control and aggro management it might not matter, likewise with enough damage.
I'm starting to wonder how much the game can already pull off with this. Vahzilok show a degree of making some parts of a spawn the brains of the operation. It also shows that it's best to limit it to specific groups and/or specific members of those groups.
Also, in response to the concept of the game being made easier over time: It seems like it's more of an issue of smoothing out some of the unneeded spikes like randomly having higher level enemies in a lowbie zone and reducing xp debt. There's a few things that have been added with the explicit point of being harder than the rest of the game. -
Highly unlikely since this will be my first time. I mean, it'll be great if we don't die but I predict they'll get at least one shot in.
-
I didn't say all that. Merely that I don't envy his position. There's plenty to do in the meantime. I'm sure there's Reichsman strategies that haven't been worked out. PvP could use another participant. AE spans from impressive to ridicule worthy with the latter sometimes being the more fun of the two.
Wow, all this talk is actually making me like being the new guy... -
While I've never eaten "regular" hominy, that particular type of corn is what's used to make grits.

While I just might side switch here and there, creating a toon in Praetoria doesn't seem interesting. I'm intrigued by Praetoria itself and may be forced to make a toon there just to see the 1-20 but I don't really want a Praetorian. Yes, I'm the odd man out.
