Honestly, I completely forgot about this Loyalty program thing.

Rularuu wears a sort of kilt/skirt/dress thing that only covers the lower half of his body. So I think Australia is safe. For now.

Who Will Die has made me not want to play the 2nd SSA at all. Just saying.

Quote:Things like 28 Days Later, Zombieland, and Left 4 Dead have shown that a zombie apocalypse can happen via a disease infecting victims and making them into mindless monsters. So it's not like that kind of apocalypse is anything new. Plus, to be honest, those types of zombies are way more believable and threatening than the slow walking undead types.Yeah obviously these people aren't undead in the supernatural sense. But if this disease leaves its victims in a state that mimics the mindlessness that the horror stories describe then who's to say the term "zombie apocalypse" would not be appropriate if this disease spreads around the world?

Quote:Because as one of the devs put it, new writers want to tell their own original stories rather than research old lore and make new stories based on existing characters and groups. That's why every other issue we get three brand new groups to familiarize ourselves with.I've heard that he's actually the NPC that introduces you to Laura Lockhart.
Frankly we've already got too many redundant alphabet-soup organizations that have been introduced lately. Hardly anything's been done with S.A.M.; why wouldn't they expand on that instead of making up the UNSF?
Also, his suit looks terrible. They need to tone down the blue. -
Iunno, I'm kind of tired of those zone events that can happen in any zone at any time. Maybe the over saturation of the Halloween events just killed the excitement of them for me.
But on subject, I think awhile back someone asked about this on a Freedom Friday once we saw rain in Who Will Die #5, and it was said they have zero plans to actually incorporate this rain into an actual weather system. And a long time ago during GR beta, I believe, War Witch said they wouldn't work on real weather 'cause it wouldn't actually benefit City of Heroes. Kind of sucks, 'cause it'd be great to get legit snow during the holidays or random showers/storms to add that extra bit of realism and immersion, but hey, what ya gonna do? -
Quote:Hey, Dark Astoria was effing awesome. So if Aeon actually wrote for that, then he has shown he can write well and should stop doing so awful on the SSAs.Good to know. I was thinking of re-subbing, but if all we can expect is more depressing content in line with Who Will Die, I won't bother.[/B]
As to the OP, yeah, I don't plan on playing SSA #2 'cause of this one. I'm actually only going to play part 7 of WWD 'cause I want to finish what I started. But I don't recommend playing part 6 at all. I did as a villain, which means I didn't suffer through that terrible Oranbega baby sit thing everyone complains about, and I still thought it was lame.
Spoilers to follow. It didn't focus at all on States' death, aside from a random, out of left field Nemesis attack that did nothing for the story. They hyped up Penny only for her to get her *** kicked fairly easily, and she really did nothing for the plot either. The whole Manticore shooting Psyche bit just felt stupid, and wasn't necessary at all. My biggest problem, though, is I'd really just wish this story would've focused on a small cast of characters that we could actually get invested in, because so far it just feels like they're trying to toss every single NPC that they can into the plot, whether they're actually important to the story at all or not. Too much is happening in too small a span of time, and everyone gets to have a big taste of the idiot ball along the way. -

Can't tell if this thread is serious or not, so I'll just post a picture about cats.

I thought Clockwork just said "Hoods", which is a separate category from "Hats". Hoods would make sense to exclude due to them being larger and bulkier, they'd clip and look bad with the bubble helmet. But hats are usually much smaller, so there may still be a chance the bubble helmet will be usable. Guess we'll have to wait n' see.
Quote:Sure I'm not suggesting that the "sci-fi skull cap with bubble helmet" look was invented with Buzz Lightyear. All I was suggesting is that it doesn't really take much to make Devs who are generally worried about IP infringement to think twice about things like this. For example ever wondered why we don't have a "Reporter" Day Job? -

Yeah, that guy's supposed to be gone >:|

Quote:This. If they made a new MM set that was "Arachnos Soldiers" then only characters with a back story of being affiliated with Arachnos in some way could use it. That's pretty limiting in terms of freedom of concept.Making sets using existing enemy groups would be pretty specific, which kind of goes into Epic archtype territory. Plus it still takes time to do new animations even with existing models, compounded by the fact Masterminds are the most resource intensive AT in terms of both design and usage.
Their best bet would be to work on tech to allow us the ability to swap out our existing henchmen models with those of existing enemies if we choose to. Let Mercs look like Arachnos Soldiers, PPD, or Longbow. Let Thugs look like Hellions or Skulls. Have Ninjas look like Knives of Artemis or the Tsoo. Etc. Dunno if that's possible, but that'd be better than making a PPD or Arachnos pet set. -
I think he got it backwards. Quite a few people were wanting an opaque version, akin to Mysterio or a modern astronaut. I think that's what we was saying he'd like.

Quote:You mean the days when we'd see the only new content in an Issue once every 3-4 months, with powersets and costume sets coming to us very rarely with sometimes a year or more in between them?when it didnt feel like every week the game wanted to pinch its vip subscribers for extra goodies..For when power sets and issues were free,,,,
The good old days when a booster pack was rare...*sigh*
Come on, now. The extra cash they're getting let's them churn out new items on a weekly basis, VIPs get free points every month to buy what they want, and non VIPs get to play nearly the entire game for free.
And OP, the players I miss most are the ones whose characters were memorable, costumes iconic, and RP fun as hell. -

This is the part that gets me. If your kid, and anyone else for that matter, actually enjoys Bay's product, then why complain? I'm willing to see if what he produces is actually a good movie or not before saying over-the-top metaphors of "Way to take a time machine, find me as a childhood, and ruin every good memory I had of this source material somehow."

Quote:That would actually be so awesome on so many levels. The Shadow Shard would provide the inter-dimensional, cosmic Galactus type of threat that we should have had from the beginning instead of Praetoria. DA now provides the threat of gods and horrible, powerful dark magic. And Eden would provide more of a natural, down home super-science super threat in the form of the Devouring Earth, possibly culminating in an iTrial version of taking down a partially evolved Hamidon.More like this. Shadow Shards + Eden, maybe?
Fantastic stuff, DA has replaced the RWZ as my favourite story arc zone.
Variety. -
Quote:What would be more comic book like?I haven't done all of the arcs but based on what I've seen, pretty decent.
I like the new art in DA zone but we could have done without more cave mission maps. Seriously.
The incarnate trial is not that great. Easy enough to do but it is nothing special. It just seems like the devs couldn't think of anything interesting here and had to rush something out the door.
The DiB trial - great idea to add lower level trial stuff. As for the actual trial, again, nothing to write home about. I don't like how you get 'teleported' from section to section.
Most of i22 was decent but it would be nice to see something completely different and fresh. The recent stuff doesn't strike me as comic book like. However, thank goodness they didn't add another all-Praetoria issue... -
