Why are there not more of the "built in" sets

You would think it woul be simple to make a " vanguard commander" set or " archos commander" since the art and everything, just about should already be done for lore pets/enemies.

They probably don't want players to have (too many) pets based on "real" enemies, for some reason. Maybe because it's confusing for other players on teams. In any case they would still have to tweak the powers of the pets because the npc versions are waaaay too powerful, so it's not like it's all done and ready to be made into MM primaries.

Go watch the latest UStream, they actually touch on this.

Making sets using existing enemy groups would be pretty specific, which kind of goes into Epic archtype territory. Plus it still takes time to do new animations even with existing models, compounded by the fact Masterminds are the most resource intensive AT in terms of both design and usage.

This. If they made a new MM set that was "Arachnos Soldiers" then only characters with a back story of being affiliated with Arachnos in some way could use it. That's pretty limiting in terms of freedom of concept.

Their best bet would be to work on tech to allow us the ability to swap out our existing henchmen models with those of existing enemies if we choose to. Let Mercs look like Arachnos Soldiers, PPD, or Longbow. Let Thugs look like Hellions or Skulls. Have Ninjas look like Knives of Artemis or the Tsoo. Etc. Dunno if that's possible, but that'd be better than making a PPD or Arachnos pet set.

New MM sets are grands, but I don't see why people want recycled enemy groups... just seems rather boring.

Besides, if you want an arachnos MM go play a Crab Spider, you get 6 arachnos themed pets.

I'd personally prefer they improve the balance in the existing sets first and improve the pet ai before they continued to add more sets. I'd rather go to a restaurant and get a really good meal then go to one and get a triple sized helping of a mediocre one.

QFT.

IMHO we have enough MM sets now. What we need is (not in this order):

1) A revamp in the pet AI
2) A second look at some of the Secondaries
3) New Secondaries (Cold and Rad would rock and be SO theme-y)
4) The ability to customize pets (even if this had to be purchased...I'd go for it if done well)
5) Did I mention the pet AI?
