Around... November? I found for a mere five bucks off (so 55USD still) Auto Assualt CE.

WHen I asked a rep why they still had a game that cannot be played due to the servers it requires to run being shut down 8 months ago, I was told they often keep older software for older computers O.o

    [/ QUOTE ]

Heh. Just a month or two ago, Fred Meyer here still had Tabula Rasa on their shelves still at full price. I brought this to their attention, and they said that they can't pull stuff from their inventory until they got the command from on high to do so (in other ords, it was out of their hands until their corporate overlords told them to get rid of it.)

I would think that the chance for a Prototype Element or an Access Bypass (the latter often worth a hefty sum) is a good reason to do the Vault Break In/Smash and Grab side mission.

I do all the side missions in Safeguards. However, once I get the badge for Jail Break, Arson, and Bombing, I stop doing those. Weapons Raid, I will continue doing until I have the badge, and all the temp powers, except Claymore, which is 30 minutes real time (or if I need to renew a temp power).

For Mayhems, I am the same on the Weapons Raid (no badge for that, but there are still the temps). I also do the arsons until I have Firebug, and of course, Smash and Grab. Kidnapping though, I only bother with if I think I may need the extra time (no badge), and jail break I don't do (waste of time and no badge).

Lets see for the Clockwork we have:
Emancipator for killing Psi Clock King.
Knights Errent for preventing the Paladin construction.
Gearsmsher for killing 100 Gears. (+ a Gladiator)
    Clockstopper for killing Babbage.
And Synapse's Cohort for taking the Clock King down in the TF.

Do we really need another Clockwork kill badge?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't think we need another badge. Instead, I think getting Gearsmasher, Knight Errant, and Clockstopper should unlock a Clockwork Winder as a costume piece back detail. Or perhaps just Gear Smasher and Knight Errant should unlock it.

The Ponies of Paragon in Paragon City hereby preemptively protest these specieist complaints.
  5. You want to complain! Look at these shoes. I've only had them three weeks and the heels are worn right through. If you complain nothing happens, you might as well not bother. Oh my back hurts, it's not a very fine day and I'm sick and tired of this office.
  6. Exploding enemies are fun. In fact, back when I saw Return of the Jedi for the first time, I found myself oddly surprised when that Speeder Bike pilot was thrown from his bike and he did not explode when he hit the tree.
  7. My 27 month vet reward is nearly a week overdue. Should have been awarded on the 11th or 12th.

Definitely file a report. I did it as a petition in game, and have since received notice via email that the issue is being escalated. Hopefulkly it will be resolved not long after the weekend is over.

Oooo! Might almost be worth it. Especially since I could then officially spank Fusionette as well.

    That's already easy enough.

    1: Stand behind her
    2: /em slap
    3: /em smack

Repeat 2 and 3 as needed.
  9. Pressing ESC will stop all animations on a web page. Works for Firefox at least. Not sure if Internet Excreter has this feature as well.
  10. I could see someone coming up with a fabulous concept requiring one of the hero or villain epics, and they just have to get them unlocked fast because they are too anxious to implement it.
  11. One thing I want most is for Mastermind pets to get their speech bubbles back.
  12. I believe that was done in AE, in missions that used assorted exploits. Also, apparently, rapid leveling that way can bring down the thunder on players who take advantage of those exploits.
  13. Yeah. Discovering that the pool powers are not included pretty much killed off most of the enthusiasm I had for customization.

The two that I had high hopes for here Hasten and the entire Medicine pool (for alternative animations).
  14. The Samurai Armor is the 18 month vet reward. It is also one of the coolest costume sets and well worth the wait. It also mixes well with the Valkyrie set.

Speaking of which, the Valkyrie Set, which comes with the Mac Edition, is well worth it for just the two different style of wings at the very least.

Another vet reward costume item that is worth the wait is the 15 month reward. That gives you Angelic Wings, as well as Demonic wings (I have one that uses the demon wings as a variant of Dragon wings, but don't have a pic of her at the moment.)

If you can't wait for those, then there are other options as well, such as the aforementioned Valkyrie Wings or assorted craftable wings from recipes that you can get as drops or purchased at Wentworth's or the Black Market.

    Faerie Wings

Insect Wings, which I refer to as Pixie Wings. (I do tend to consider the two different species in the Fae family.)

Tech Wings and Rocket Boots (These two pieces just seem to naturally go together.) Oh, and Feisty Fawn there is also wearing the Toga, which is one of the selectable rewards from the Snaptooth Valentine's Day mission.

    Bat Wings

Cherubic Wings (also the tuxedo from the Wedding Pack).

Dragon Wings (and a better view with more detail.)

    Burned Wings

    Winged Boots

Those are all I have examples of at the moment. My big wish is that we may someday get a Clockwork Winder as a back detail That would make Rad-Bit one happy droid.

In a country where a woman gets a 1.2 million dollar settlement from a moterhome company after she set her cruise control and got up to make a sandwich, (causing the vehicle to crash because there was no one steering it)...

  16. Don't forget the debt you might not be racking up by having some confuzzled foes fighting for you as well.

So, is this the infamous Boxxy, or is this a Boxxy impersonator?
  18. My recommendation is to purchase AE locally (gets you a fairly up to date DVD). And then purchase the Mac Edition online. And finally, if you can find it cheap enough, purchase the GvE edition.

Remember, each edition that you upgrade your account with includes one month of game time, valued at $15. AE also includes your choice of one of the Booster Packs, valued at $10. That makes your total cost negative $5.00.

Mac Edition (which does not require a Mac) would have an overall cost of $5.00. GvE, depending on how much you pay for it, could be a net negative cost as well.
  19. I've discovered that once I get done with the "basics" in the level 5-9 range (radio missions followed by Atlas Safeguard, and Negotiator, doing enough for my contacts to open their stores, then perhaps another 3 radios to get set up for the KR Safeguard at 10 or 11), I end up wandering over to the Hollows anyway to knock out Wincott's short arc.

After all, I usually finish up the "basics" by level 8 or 9 anyway, and would rather do contact missions that result in merits (as opposed to the other contacts' stand-alones) to finish myself off to level 10.
  20. That sounds like a bug then. Because if you talk to Wincott first (same with Seer Marino on the villain-side), no one should ever require you to go talk to him, since you already did.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
Or accept the mission, talk to the contact again, and tell him to <bleep!. the <bleep!> <bleep!> and <bleep!> himself <bleep!> with a <bleep!> <bleep!> ... I mean.... Tell him you want to drop the mission. Then he'll move you on to the next one on the list.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Or do his first mission and then not accept any others. Sure, you will have his arc open, but it is a minor arc, and there is no limit to how many minor arcs you can have open.

That way, you are not wasting a drop on something that you really would have preferred to use it on (like the Defeat Patient Zero mission in the Zombie Cooties arc, a mission which you could very well get before the three days is up in which you can drop again).

Just doing Wincott's hunt at least opens his store for you. And you can later go back when you are much higher level, and speed through the rest of his arc for easy merits.

    Psst, markets are cross-server...

    See above, already saw that.

You could have also saved face by saying Test Server (whether or not you actually do play the market on Test.)
  23. Willowpaw

    This is sad.

    [ QUOTE ]

Agreed. Get the AE Buildings out of the low Level zones asap.
Let new players experience the regular game first before encountering the holographic missions offered at the AE Buildings.

And change all MA missions to only offer half the XP of regular game missions. This will stop the farmers and return the MA missions to what they were originally intended for: to tell STORIES.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I agree that some of the AE buildings need removed. I propose that heroside, we have them in Skyway, Indy, Brickstown, and PI. For the Rogue Isles; Nerva, St. Martial, and Grandville. Then also keep one in the RWZ.

Additionally, how about not having that popup introducing you to the AE contact until level 15 or higher? Granted, lowbies could still run AE missions if they wanted to, but there's a greater chance that they may not know about AE until higher level and they will run normal missions for a bit until they get that intro. (Out of sight, out of mind)

I don't agree with reducing experience in AE missions. After all, AE was billed as an alternate means of leveling. It would not be a very viable alternate means if you are only getting half the reward.
  24. (QR)

Remember, the only way to earn purples in "the wild" is to get them as random drops from enemies that can drop level 50 recipes.

You can't buy them with merits or tickets (so the hordes of players strictly playing MA missions other than Dev's Choice are not able to put purples on the market and up the supply.)
