So using one does not gray out the other then? I remember when I got the Market Teleporter day job power, using it would make the purchased one I had in my inventory unavailable until it recharged. I thought the base porter would be the same way.

Quote:At that low a level, it could even be best to just reroll the character and try again (if you want to save your look, be sure to stop off at the tailor and save your costume so you can easily reload it when you remake the character.)It was mentioned above, if you don't want to wait for the Free Respec when the new issue comes out, you can use the Second/Duo/Alternate Build feature.
Should not take long at all to get back up to 12. -
Going from 1 to 50 should have given you plenty of time to ponder how to tweak your character out at the end of his career.
What is your playstyle for this character? Knowing yourself is key to determining how to enhance. -
And renewing the account is done how?...
(Reactivation weekends are few and far between, so those don't count). -
Actually it does. Considering the longest trial is 14 days and the logged out time for any of the day jobs is 21 days...

Quote:Actually, if one is really really really set on playing Epics (like if they have just come up with an idea that they are just itching to try out), then PLing is not really that lame an idea. However, I would recommend making a character on an off server that you would not otherwise be playing on so that you are not using up a slot on your regular servers. Then find someone on that server willing to listen to your plight and plea who will PL you.You could get PL'd to 50, that's the other choice, but that's really really lame.
If you are nice about it, you should be able to find someone who will help. -
Here is Rachel Tormanin/Eclipse, aka Twilight Dream, my first Warshade:
When she first arrived in Paragon, all she had was this simple outfit. She did not have time to pack when she had to quickly leave the Rogue Isles after merging with the Nictus her brother had liberated from the Council for Dr. Percey.
After her uncle Pyrefox helped Rachel and Eclipse get settled into their new supergroup, he provided his neice with some Halloween salvage and a bit of moolah so they could pay a visit to Trina the Seamstress at Pocket D and get them a proper super heroine costume.
Rachel wanted something armored and modest. But Eclipse (who had her own conceptions about what Human hero girls should wear) wanted something rather revealing. They compromised, and came up with this one piece number:
At least Eclipse did not get her original idea implemented. Rachel would not be able to get herself to go out in public in an almost nonexistent bikini.
At 20, it was time for swimwear for those beach parties in Talos. Again, no bikini...
And then finally, once Twilight Dream reached security level 30, it was time for something somewhat formal to wear while chilling out at the D and sipping a nice refreshing mug of Blackberry Splortch...
That's all for now. Dunno what I will make for her final costume yet. Plus, need to show off my other Warshade and my PBs.
*** EDIT ***
Hope I didn't just kill this thread by posting in it. -
Quote:What would be an efficient slotting for Eclipse? I just checked my plan and saw that I am getting Eclipse at 38, and tentatively have it slotted for 2 ACC, 2 Resist, and 2 Endurance Mod (last one not going in until 50).The way I would weight my build if doing it this way is to make sure you get to the point where you have perma-eclispe, then add defence to any other powers.
I am sure this is less than ideal, so am open to suggestions. I am guessing that some sort of frankenslotting may be in order fot his power (same with Dark Extraction). -

My normal partner (who is currently taking a break from the game) had a blast duoing our Fire/Dark Corruptors to 50 a couple months ago. It was plain and simply total carnage, especially deep within the narrow halls of Orenbega, which we renamed Murderworld.
We were also having fun with our Wolf Spider duos before the break as well, and our Widows (none of which are out of the teens yet unfortunatey) -
Quote:So if you are in a line of work where you may very well be sent off somewhere without high speed internet for 2 or more years, you would be pretty much screwed. (aka working for the DoD as military personnel or a civilian contractor.)I know this topic is a dead horse, and it's probably not easy to do, but if it was possible, I think characters on inactive accounts should be stripped of their names if they are under the level of the number of months the account has been inactive. For example, start with accounts that have been inactive 24 months or longer:
Quote:There is a name I want to use on the Virtue server that is already being used.
I was informed that I can find out who is using that name in-game by typing /getglobalname.
I used that and nothing came up.
I was told that if nothing came up the name is being used by an account that was made before Globals came out and that account is no longer active.
Is there anyway for me to get this name?
Two things that might help:
1: Post the name you want here. Perhaps we can help you come up with a decent alternative.
2: Send a tell to the player and plead your case. If they are still active but are not actively using that character, perhaps they will be merciful and relinquish the name. You can send a tell (without using email) even if the recipient is offline. They will get it when they log back in.
Additionally, if you want another way to get the global name, use gignore on the character name and note the global it says you are ignoring. Then be sure to gunignore to take them back off your ignore list. -
Quote:Would slotting an endurance reducer in dark Nova instead of putting them in the 2 Dark Nova AOE attacks have the same effect?I'm all right without stamina. Slotting end reduction into dwarf/nova attacks helps.
Currently I have Dark Nova slotted with a Flight and a To Hit Buff (which nullifies the need to burn 4 slots to get an accuracy in each attack), and then I put an endurance reducer in the two big squid attacks. Would replacing those 2 endurance reducers with a single one in Dark Nova itself be a better idea? I wouldn't mind freeing up a slot that way if the net effect is the same. -
Quote:Just from a lot of low level playing I have done since Beginner's Luck was implemented, it feels like the accuracy degredation is not very noticeable until the early to mid teens. By then, you are on DOs or IOs already, or if you are a magic origin hero, Yin Talismen for accuracy.I can't really add to what most folks have said except that I have noticed that a lot of people recommond not slotting anything prior to L12, relying on begginers luck for accuracy. However after L1 beginners luck starts going down and if you absolutely despise missing like I do (and firmly believe that the RNG is out to get you, like I do :-) slotting accuracy TO's is well worth it.
I will add however, that sometimes I will slot level 10 TOs just as placeholders and reminders of what those slots will be getting once level 12 comes around.
Ah, and I just remembered a good reason to go ahead and slot anyway. If you are in the Beginner's Luck levels, and you end up SKing to someone in their mid 20s or higher, then while you are SKed, your Beginner's Luck no longer works, because you are effectively at a combat level beyond where BL cuts off. -
Quote:Also, at 27, if you can juggle the slotting, I highly recommend purchasing 4 of the Devastation Hold Procs. Put one in each single target Squid attack and one in each single target Human form attack. These go off quite reliably and can give you that extra breathing room needed when things get hairy. Plus, it's quite satisfying seeing a Void or Quantum standing there doing the Tesla Dance.Ok here's some thoughts I have on kheldians (I'm just gonna throw them out there in no particular order):
3) WSs strike me as more controllerish. They've got more steady mez, less damage in the beginning, but they can really hit some impressive highs in damage. For me, my solo WS hit his stride around level 28 when he got Inky Aspect to keep minions mezzed and stack with Gravitic Emenation to mez whole mobs.
4) Don't get turned off by the initial 18 levels when you're getting your butt handed to you by quantums and voids. It sucks horribly but both PBs and WSs get holds at level 18 to deal with them.
Additionally, if you can wrangle it, I would also recommend slotting the Nova form with a Flight Speed, Gaussian's Synchronized Fire Control: To Hit Buff, and a Gaussian's: Chance for Build Up. With the To Hit Buff, you really don't need accuracies in the Squid attacks and the AOEs can each get an endurance reduction instead.
And lastly, it may be a good idea to work the Decimation: Build Up proc into the faster of the two single target Squid attacks (that's the Bolt as opposed to the Blast, I think).
Also, don't overlook getting the Winter's Gift Slow/Recharge Debuff Resistance. Shadow Recall is a good power to put that in for Warshades, or alternatively, the PB hover. That 20% resistance can be a life saver.
Quote:EDIT: the quantums and voids never spawn when you're playing another AT. In the earlier levels about 1 will spawn per mission. Latter on you'll start to see 2-3 per mission but this happens about the time you start to laugh off quantums and voids. -
I'd lean toward Scirocco. There is just something fishy about that Mako fellow.
-
Definitely most likely something external for the OP. I just spent nearly an hour idle inside a mission while getting in a grocery run. Still hanging out fine inside.
Quote:If I remember right, that was a Steve Martin bit. He also had several other obscure theories and axioms as well. However, only one I can remember by name is "Elvis's Charcoal Briquette."i have no idea who's banana that is, but i am soooo using that, oddly enough references to Occam's Razor comes up way more then one would think. -

Also remember that each purple enhancement is a unique.
Additionally, the set bonuses from purples are subject to the rule of 5 just like any other set bonus. Granted, you are not very likely to ever have a build that takes advantage of 5 of the same bonus (let alone 6 or more), but it is theoretically possible, since there are more than 5 sets that give some of the same bonuses. -
I'm normally like:
1-11 - Nothing (though at 10 I will slot Yin SOs on my heroes if they can utilize them)
12-21 - DOs if I know I am going to be blasting through the teens fast. Otherwise...
12-16 - Level 15 IOs
17-21 - New powers and slots get level 20 IOs
(Except for whatever got the Yin SOs. Those get upgraded to 17s and 21s at 14 and 17 s.)
22-31 - SOs
32-36 - Level 35 IOs (at this point they are notably higher on the % than level 35 SOs whereas level 30 IOs are only very marginally better than level 30 SOs.)
Also, if you play your cards right, the big upgrade may cost about the same or even less as what an upgrade to level 35 SOs would cost (start stockpiling them early on, like at 25). 32 is also a good point to do a respec to both optimize your build and to get back all the inf you have sunk into those SOs.
Then starting at 37, you don't do another full upgrade. Instead, you just slot new powers and slots with level 40 IOs. Likewise, at 41 and 47, you only slot 45 and 50 IOs in new slots and powers.
Finally, at 50, you might go ahead and do a final respec to fully tweak and optimize your build. At this point, what does not get assorted non-generic invention IOs can go ahead and be upgraded to 50s. You probably will not be using a ton of generic 50s here though, since you will most likely be frankenslotting. And all your 35s, 40s, and 45s will then get sold (perhaps your 10 most valuable ones will get held back to be saved for an alt or sold at WW or the Black Market.)
Alternatively, and what I am planning on doing with my 50s though when it is optimize time, is to use up as many respecs as I can to recover all my generics and save them for my alts.
Clear as mud? -
That is the most likely explanation, in accordance with Occam's Razor, or Wittgenstein's Banana, or something like that.

Not sure how helpful these ideas would be to you, but here are the three I have for Daphnie Dreamer so far...
Her default Widow costume
Her Level 10 Swimwear costume (This will become her level 40)
Her Halloween Salvage bonus costume. (She spends as much time operating in this one as she does her Widow costume) -
